  1. Vatanen's deal is four years, $19.5 million. $5M in 2016-17, 2017-18, 2018-19. $4.5M in 2019-20.
  2. Datsyuk makes it official: He's going home to Russia and leaving Red Wings with one year left on his contract.
  3. John Shannon: On Datsyuk contract, once terminated,he can not be traded, but cap hit remains. If the Wings are to trade PD,it would be before termination. No mention of when this will occur.
  4. I think they were relevant and used well. But I don't need to see them ever again. Definitely a worthy warning for those who don't want to face the scene. I'll just say they show the closeup of what OJ did to Nicole Brown and Ron Goldman's necks.
  5. The OJ Documentary continues to be astonishing to me. So many voices. So much content. Incredibly crafted. Tonight they showed never-before-seen crime scene photos which are pretty haunting.
  6. John Shannon @JSportsnet Told that Datysuk's contract will be terminated for anticipatory breach and he will be free to sign a new contract in Russia. 1/2 John Shannon @JSportsnet Because of Datsyuk's age, there will be a cap hit associated with his contract -- full cap hit because it's a 35 plus contract. 2/2
  7. John Shannon @JSportsnet NHL Board of Governors have been sent the agenda for June 22nd. Included are the Las Vegas expansion proposal and expansion draft plan.
  8. Because they joined last summer and instantly had thousands of followers within a couple tweets. It looks like 45% of their followers are fake. Once you buy up a few thousand followers then others will follow assuming you're real because you have so many followers. They also have no followers with credit. Similar LEGITIMATE Twitter accounts, even though they're "competitors," are followed by people like McKenzie and Dreger. The Hockey Press has no such followers.
  9. The Hockey Press is not a legitimate source. They purchased a ton of followers and modeled themselves after The Hockey News to make themselves look real. They're not. It's all made up stuff. They will aggregate rumors from time to time, but they try to slip in their own rumors to the mix.
  10. I agree with this, but I don't think this is Twitter's fault...
  11. Exactly. Having a Twitter account and being active on there makes it so much easier to know what is fake. There are enough of us around here who are well versed in Twitter and other social media outlets. If those of us who are in this category are saying that it's fake then there's a good chance it is. If the account isn't an actual news source or individual then it's probably fake. SOME Twitter "NHL Rumors" pages will act as a aggregate and just tweet out info they steal from others like Bob McKenzie and Darren Dreger.
  12. 'Tis the season to discuss rumors from fraudulent Twitter accounts!
  13. It's most certainly not "better than most Twitter ones." That account is a perfect example of why so many hate sports Twitter. It just makes up. Zero legitimacy.
  14. I would rather keep Glenn than Gillmore, but my hope is we do end up being able to keep Stephon, too.
  15. Pretty sure that hit him in the shoulder. Also that guy he hit is the son of a Cavs part owner.
  16. Garth Snow said "we wish him the best of luck."
  17. This is going to be an incredible game seven regardless of how it plays out. How will Curry respond to a tough game and then an ending like that? Can LeBron cap it off? Also, LeBron locked up Finals MVP tonight.
  18. Cam Ward will make $3.5 mill this year and $3.1 mill next...
  19. I think there's a lot of overthinking going on about the expansion draft. Teams will mainly need to ensure they can fulfill the requirements which will likely mean we see two-year deals for veterans that would normally get one-year deals (Cam Ward) but there won't be a need for a "decoy" in Buffalo. Especially because there's just no way to know that it would be a worthwhile effort. The new team will be taking one player from each team but that doesn't mean they'll be taking the best player left available from each team. They've got to build a team and fulfill salary, contract and positional requirements. The Sabres best bet is to get as many good players as they can that fill needs and their plan which will require moving out certain players in deals... If they do this they will have plenty of protection slots to maintain any core they desire and won't be in danger of losing any major difference makers.
  20. I don't think you're changing draft plans because you acquired the rights to Alex Goligoski. Especially considering, if signed, Goligoski will be just the third NHL dman under contract by Arizona. They have immediate and long-term needs there. Will be interesting to see if he's willing to sign in Arizona.
  21. Alex Goligoski's rights traded to Arizona
  22. Mike Chambers @MikeChambers Avalanche NOT trading D Tyson Barrie, GM Joe Sakic tells me. LT deal preferred for RFA, or arbitration. "Either way, he'll be here" - Sakic 12:45pm · 16 Jun 2016 ·
  23. Frank Seravalli @frank_seravalli #Flyers confirm they will buyout forward RJ Umberger.
  24. Negotiating tactic, nothing else.
