  1. I was able to read the Harry Potter books without cataract surgery
  2. It's going to be hard to top this but at least we have time on our side.
  3. La Confora was the first to report Buffalo's significant interest in Reggie Bush and I believe he was the first to report he had signed. But he's stilll a total plug who is wrong more than he is right.
  4. He wasn't single when the December incident happened, either. Or when the Bottoms Up incident happened.
  5. Does anybody else here watch Mr. Robot?
  6. Media village is built on the sacred burial grounds of runaway African Slaves. http://ebx.sh/2aeC2Na
  7. I know Eleven is much older than me but when you pay $5 for a cup for some jungle juice and find out there's roofies in it you just keep going because you're a poor college student who can't waste $5 on an empty plastic cup. Edit: to be fair I've never found out I had been roofied until after it already happened so this is mostly a joke.
  8. Great point on Russell Martin (even if Liriano had a very good year last year including a career high in strikeouts). And that trade really was odd. Hutchison was once a top prospect for Toronto but failed. If anybody will turn him into a top pitcher because there isn't a team better at project pitchers in the league. Hence the acquisition of Hutchison and Ivan Nova at the deadline.
  9. I am pretty sure I saw some health agency say they expect around 900 individuals (athletes, residents, visitors and media) to contract diseases while they're in Rio.
  10. They told him he'd be backup at catcher, DH and first base. They told him that Yan Gomes is their starting catcher in 2017. https://twitter.com/Ken_Rosenthal/status/759793199116328961 The indication was that they wouldn't tear it up because he'd be a backup. I don't know why they thought he'd accept either stipulation in the first place. The Brewers also should've gotten ahead of that, too.
  11. The first part is completely false. They've been a disaster for as long as I can remember when they try to go into these areas that aren't set up for the infrastructure and traffic increases. The Olympics as we know it should disappear forever. They should only be going to places secure and capable of hosting it. Some recent cities/countries have seen hundreds of people dying working in poor conditions for poor pay to build stadiums that will fall into ruin a few years after the Olympics leave. And there have been indications there's corruption all over the process. Blow it up and start something truly meaningful and productive. The fix is more along the lines of my thinking but until I see evidence there's a desire to fix it I'll just stick with hating the Olympics and wanting it gone.
  12. The Olympics are bad and should be done away with.
  13. Lucroy did not turn down the Indians to go to the Rangers, to be clear. He turned down the Indians because they told him he'd be a backup in 2017. He had no choice but to go to Texas as they were not on his no-trade list. I'm sure this situation is still preferred, though. Closer to family and still a top team in the AL. The Nationals are still a terrible trade deadline team always afraid to make the big move. If they would've landed Chapman or Miller they'd be right there with Chicago in the NL but now they're questionable as Melancon doesn't have the power to hold up in a long postseason. My top five contenders right now: 1. Chicago Cubs 2. Cleveland Indiana 3. San Fran 4. Washington 5. Texas The Blue Jays landing Francisco Liriano is interesting. He's got the stuff to return to form of the last few years in Pittsburgh but is off this year. They just don't have the pitching to win in the current postseason climate, I think.
  14. A ten-hour loop of screeching Eagles.

  16. Have to think this is a mutual breakup. I would love to add Vermette as a vet, especially if we don't land Vesey

  20. Yes, but I'd make sure he has phone access in our love cave.
  21. I'd take his last name if he'd just say yes
  22. You'll never see the victim named in a crime unless they died or contact media themselves to tell their story. The victims in this case not being named means absolutely nothing.
  23. The big thing the Dems have done well that the republicans failed to do (they tried and it seemed disingenuous) was talk about America as if it were still a great country. Regardless of the many many issues it's important to let the people know that you're still on their side and that the country they've put their blood, sweat and tears into is still great. Politics of fear isn't politics, it's demagoguery. Also, I'm looking forward to seeing further development from Tulsi Gabbard in conversations about the elections down the road.
