I have to admit that the recent news coming from the Democratic Party had truly left me questioning my plans to vote for Hillary Clinton. I was always a supporter of Bernie Sanders and have always felt he was wronged. The email leak started as a "meh, I knew it to be true anyways" until I saw some of the truly nasty exchanges. I have no doubt these types of exchanges happen across the board but it doesn't make it any uglier to see. But Michelle Obama and Bernie Sanders rescued my vote for Hillary. Two incredibly real, passionate and beautiful humans gave amazing speeches and all the boos/unrest seemed to nearly completely disappear when both mentioned Hillary. This was a strong night for the DNC despite the way it started. Michelle Obama could certainly pursue a career in politics if she wanted to (she has said she doesn't). One of the most important First Ladies of all time. A passionate and strong woman.

I think it may be worth doing some seating preference now. It's not like, as Flagg said, we can't switch later but getting an idea who would prefer to avoid (I mean sit next to) others may be best.

I see all this hiking and outdoor activity stuff and I'm just over here not knowing a single person who does a lick of any of it ... And it's the type of stuff I've always been into but never able to find others to do it with (so I never do it anymore). Precisely. The accusations are ugly and borderline unforgivable but most are acting like he's a victim. Who cares if they set it up so a photo could be taken? He allegedly did some nasty things and, if they're true, he deserves it all.

I looked it up to see and it was apparently just some confusion about a few Instagram posts he made.

I agree. I take back my original thoughts on this. I knew of Kaine but knew very little, but I've liked what I've learned about him. I like that he votes against his opinion on multiple issues. He respects and represents his voter base as opposed to his own agenda.

I still think it's trespassing. The bar is obviously trying to argue against it because they want stars and high rollers to still come but the previous reports said the bouncer asked him to leave. I think it's fair for the law to deflect the bar's pathetic attempt to get away from incriminating one of their strongest customers. The handcuffing in front of a photographer is whatever. The Buffalo News has access to Buffalo Police records (other news agencies in town do not have this access) so I wouldn't be shocked if they knew of Kane this way. More likely, though, is that they got tipped off about it. I don't believe it's abnormal for police or prosecutors to inform media of arrangements made to turn in high-profile suspect.

Hillary Clinton confirmed Tim Kaine as her VP pick. I don't come in here often but I think this further separates her from Bernie's supporters.

Florida replaced Campbell, Gudbranson and Kulikov with Yandle, Demers and Pysyk. Going forward they're better off with Yandle than Campbell, which is why I would take their new group over the old group. I don't know if it makes them better immediately but it gives them more security and talent long-term. I like their offseason because they've been aggressive, and I think they have a definitive playoff team. Backes absolutely improves Boston. There's no such thing as "not enough" to improve a roster if you're still a legitimate NHL player who has a positive impact on his teams, but I don't think they're improved enough to make a real difference in the east. Correct on Ottawa, but it seems like they're counting on Phaneuf improving and Ceci becoming a legitimate top-four defender. Karlsson is still all-world. I like Detroit's offensive offseason considering there's nothing they could do about Datsyuk leaving. They did a good job trying to replace him, but they failed to add defense. But remember - the question isn't who improved most. It's who had the best offseason, and the answer is unequivocally Tampa Bay.

I think everything that happened today was warranted and fine. It seems, in my experience of watching police file charges against suspects, common to file a more serious charge in a group of charges in order to protect against plea deals or charges being dropped all together. The trespassing charge makes sense to be me if the information they have is that he was told to leave by an employee at the bar and refused to do so. The bar claims that he was not trespassing because the General Manager didn't ask him to leave and the General Manager is the one who has final say on people be removed (I'm totally using this in my defense in the future).
