  1. Or Feliciano. And Taron Johnson is questionable. Really hoping for another beat down.
  2. Thank you, not sure why I said third. Probably because of them having multiple seconds.
  3. Frankly Novikov has already shown me a lot and looks like an early contender for steal of the draft but what leads you to believe a 6th round pick from this draft is a more likely NHL player than a 3rd? Do you think Kisakov was a teacher or just drafted more for potential vs Kisakov being a “safer” bet?
  4. Getting a goalie for Jack should not be a priority.
  5. Yea but she changed her name to Crystal S. Hock.
  6. 2014 had Baptiste, Bailey, Compher, Lemieux, Carrier and McCabe. I feel better about our current list but I don’t think we should forget how excited people were about some of those guys. The first two probably generated the most excitement but they’re the only ones on the list who aren’t still active.
  7. That’s alarming. I hadn’t been able to follow where he was at this season since so few games have been played but that’s less than ideal. Wonder if he’s about to go the way of Tyler Benson.
  8. There is only one Jack but there are four Norms, two Reals, two Jocelyns, two Jiris. There is also only one Dylan, Keith and zero "Roberts" (there are plenty of Bobs who likely are legally Robert but Jack isn't legally Jack). https://www.hockeydb.com/ihdb/stats/display_players.php?tmi=5054
  9. Oh the perks of being rich. People lost whole livelihoods because of his actions and the actions of his partners and family members. That cost should never be ignored or forgotten. May those who loved him find peace and those who paid his debts do the same.
  10. You don’t have to be a condescending prick. This is not a fact that changes my mind on the matter because even if it’s two and a half months instead of two months it’s not enough of a difference AT ALL.
  11. Yippee that changes nothing from what I said or think on the subject. The report about the NHL/NHLPA getting involved happened on the last day of August so there’s a good chance it was true at least as of that point.
  12. There were reports within the last two months that no teams had received any medical records.
  13. I currently have Lambert right after those three but I think all three are close. I’ve got a lot more work to do to speak about any of it confidently outside of my confidence that Wright is clearly number one.
  14. Pat McAfee made a point about the punt that there’s often some adjustment between a LS and a new punter. If you watch the blocked punt it looks like Haack put a little extra time in actually catching the ball but it threw off his rhythm. It doesn’t look like a bad snap or anything but it somehow looks like it caught him off guard.
  15. This was the second time Haack has had a punt blocked in his pro career out of 316 kicks. The average team punts about 3.7 times a game (63 times a season). This team will punt less than that (on pace for just 51 punts). Haack has been blocked once every 158 punts so if trends continue he won’t be blocked again for another two seasons. Obviously sports are random and circumstantial so there’s much more to it than that but that’s just a quick breakdown of his numbers so far. I think most of Haack’s punts have looked fine but he’s had a few that have taken an extra half step to get off. It’s not something I’m overly worried about because it only impacted him once when the line failed to blocked a free rusher.
  16. Unoriginal racist monkey trope toward a Black player.
  17. Yup. Proactive and not reactive. This is the perfect time for the NHL to announce a new policy that any definitively racist act, if verified, is a 365 day suspension.
  18. 10/13 games is not enough. I don’t know how long the UHL season is but it should, at the very least, be at least half a season and require a lot of penance to return.
  19. So … this is causing some outrage in the hockey community. A player gestures as if he was eating a banana toward an opposing player. This was mentioned in the now-closed Around the NHL thread for lack of a better place. His punishment? “3+10 games.” Basically, it’s three games unless he refuses to pay a fine of what amounts to about $1,880. If he pays the fine it’s just a three-game suspension. The original video for those unaware:
  20. I see a lot of love for it on social media but everyone I know wants them off the screen and wants to be able to hear the game better. I didn’t buy a big tv to have a good portion of it filled by the Mannings during a football game. Being able to see them adds nothing to the game. I love the commentary and interviews, no doubt. The only thing being able to see them added so far was actually an FCC violation.
  21. Looked up the statement. Wasn't sure if it specifically mentioned the surgery but it did. Prior to that it was all conjecture.
  22. Do we even have ON THE RECORD that Jack wants ADR and the team won't let him? If not, it's all just conjecture in your mind. There is plenty of blame to go around, but I believe it's primarily (aka more than half) the responsibility of the team.
