  1. Random wild thought (Jack, if you’re reading this and it works I want 3% commission for career earnings): Could Jack RETIRE, get the surgery he wants, go to the Olympics, then unretire?
  2. Since his career revival with the Titans: 21 for 28 for 198 yards, 3 TDs and 0 INTs. 4 rushes, 42 yards and a TD. That’s last year and that’s the only game he has played against Buffalo in Tennessee. Hard to say anything beyond that is relevant to tonight (or even that last year’s game is considering the COVID situation).
  3. I’m not. I’m just noting his record against Buffalo. He leads the league in rushing by a mile right now. He’s probably a Hall of Famer.
  4. And Tannehill has not been very good so far this year so this has to be exactly what happens.
  5. It’s even harder to make financials work in-season and there’s no guarantee you get Eichel to play at any point this season so there’s really no point to acquiring him. He may just be wasted for the entire season (marking two consecutive seasons). I do think Jack probably needs to start working on the litigation/grievance effort, even if I think it has very little chance to succeed.
  6. Yea, outside of the Kaplan report about a deal being near a week or two ago I don’t get the feeling there have been serious offers. The teams probably know what the Sabres want and the Sabres probably know what teams are currently willing to give but that doesn’t mean offers have actually been made or exchanged.
  7. For the record, Derrick Henry has been mediocre at best against us. He has played Buffalo each of the last three seasons. Last year: 19 rushes for 57 yards (3 yards per carry) with 2 touchdowns. 1 catch for 6 yards. Two years ago: 20 rushes for 78 yards (just under 4 yards per carry) with 1 touchdown. Three years ago: 11 rushes for 56 yards (just over 5 yards per carry). He averages 64 yards rushing on 17 carries which is 3.8 yards per carry. Three total touchdowns and one catch. And he has never played a Buffalo defense this good. Matt Milano and Tre White were both out against Tennessee last year.
  8. The same reason every team prefers players a little farther along in development in trades. No, that’s not what’s happening. It’s exhausting that this board has become “you’re with us or against us” for a franchise that has given nothing but disappointment for a decade plus. Yes, I know what the response to this will be.
  9. After tonight the Bills have: vs Miami (1-5) @ Jacksonville (1-5) vs NYJ (1-4) vs Indianapolis (2-4) @ New Orleans (3-2) vs New England (2-4) @ Tampa Bay (5-1) vs Carolina (3-3) @ New England (2-4) vs Atlanta (2-3) vs NYJ (1-4) I don’t think I’ve ever seen a schedule that easy. Any given Sunday and all that but a win tonight and this team should be anywhere from 14-3 to 16-1. It’s all about staying healthy and not letting anyone sneak up on you. Tampa is the real deal. Other than that? New Orleans, New England and Indianapolis are all teams that have competed but are inconsistent. Carolina looks terrible these last three weeks. Let’s win tonight and go into the bye feeling confident we can control the conference.
  10. The Sabres should be impatient here, too. Right now, they’ve got nothing to show for Eichel or the suffering done to acquire him. They need this over sooner rather than later unless the hope is to kick the return as far down the road as possible which I can’t imagine is the case.
  11. “Vegas needs help soon” … then reports they’re trading for a good who may not play this season.
  12. Yes. This has been discussed dozens of times in this thread.
  13. This is incredibly stupid if it’s a definitive rule. Obviously you have to consider it if the return is there. This team isn’t spending to the cap anytime soon. I would maybe get some conditional picks DEEP down the line where like four or five years down the line you get a third that becomes a first if Jack plays 70+ games. Murray was known for making the deals he wanted regardless of the Pegulas. He just got dudes who probably spread a toxic gas throughout the locker room that the janitors have yet to clear out (including Jack Eichel).
  14. I was at a festival all day and missed it. I used to tell myself I’d never root for losses again. I was lying. I hope this team is miserable and getting the first pick isn’t even the number one motivation behind it.
  15. This is a really good breakdown and has the numbers @inkmanasked for. Edmunds average tackle depth on plays with 6 defenders in the box being 1.3 yards is wild. That means this team can consistently spread the defense out and rely on him to make plays. He leads the league in tipped passes which, again, is wild considering the position he plays. That’s also huge for him because he didn’t touch the ball a lot in college show it shows he’s not only already very good but he’s getting better. The Bills have given up the third fewest yards over the middle of the field. Some of the plays highlighted with the All-22 are absolutely dominant.
  16. This is precisely correct. We’ve seen some names leak of players teams DON’T want to include and that’s likely just names the Sabres have asked for … but this isn’t fantasy sports. Guys aren’t just texting each other offers back and forth. Actual named offers are very rare in these negotiations.
  17. Yup. There are better pure talents but the way he just put it all together with such ease is astonishing still.
  18. The silver lining with the Dodgers is Max Scherzer and Trea Turner getting themselves another ring, so I can live with that. No silver lining for Houston. Boston? Well, at least I went to Fenway this year for a game.
  19. This is 100% the case. It's a regular practice. I don't think there's much wrong with running stories by a source to ensure what you're saying is accurate but the tone of what Schefter did/said is a much different situation. That felt so skeevy.
  20. Just brutal. This is the least-likable final four I've seen in any sport in a while. Go Braves, I guess?
  21. As someone who stretches to draw conclusions that are on the other side of the universe I can appreciate a good one when I see it.
  22. Tim Curry is brilliant. Also, the Rocky Horror influence in the movie with the “strangers gather at a mysterious home” theme starring Tim Curry as the host. It even has a Susan Surandon lookalike.
  23. October is spooky content only. Kicked it off with Midnight Mass on Netflix which is another example of what Mike Flanagan makes the best horror tv writer ever (not movies, just tv). Went with a classic with Clue tonight which I haven’t seen since I was a kid and it was MUCH better as an adult considering I could actually understand the ridiculousness of it all.
  24. I believe she has been first on a few big Blackhawks stories. She’s got familiarity there but had grown from there.
