There's no way you can watch Josh Allen and think the guy is "mentally unfocused." He's incredibly dedicated, hard working and focused on winning football games in any way possible. Just because he can be a little fast and loose with the ball doesn't mean he's not focused.

Yea Siran and Taron would get absolutely smoked on the outside (Siran did in the preseason and they clearly tried). Dane seems to be a bit of a fan creation so far because I haven’t seen anything out of him that tells me he’s got a ceiling as a true CB2. This is a position that Beane ignored and may regret heavily.

The defense gave up 16 points and held Big Ben to under 20 completions with under 200 yards - a stat line he’s had once in the last five years. Najee Harris had 16 carries from 45 yards (under 3 yards a carry). Tremaine Edmunds was strong early and played a role in keeping the run game down throughout the game and played well in the passing game. There was exactly one play where I thought he made a big mistake and it was on a run play where Milano got blown up and Edmunds way overcorrected, getting blocked because he went the wrong way. Leslie Frazier coached a very good game, getting the defensive backfield involved in the run defense because they’ve got a handful of strong tacklers there.

Max Scherzer has been otherworldly with the Dodgers. In his eight starts the team is 8-0 (he sports a 6-0 record in those games). He has 72 strikeouts in those games (averaging 9 per game). He hasn’t given up an earned run in his last four starts and has 41 strikeouts in that span. He has just 5 walks in 8 starts which happens to be the same number of earned runs he’s given up total.

It wouldn’t matter if Gilliam blocked. There were three or four guys unblocked directly on them. The most inexplicable part of that play: they motioned a player through the formation right before the snap and, because the Steelers were in zone, they welcomed another player into that side of the defense while subtracting a blocker from our side. It was an unimaginable play design and terrible call. Timeout should have been called when they saw them in zone on the motion.

Felt like Allen and Diggs both spent most of the day showing terrible body language but this isn’t normally an issue so I’m not sure what was going on there.

If you aren’t making a play for the ball and get in the path of a player trying to make a play, making contact before the play is being made, it’s the very definition of pass interference. There were like two dropped passes and one that didn’t matter because of a hold.

Oh yea no you’re wrong. That was an obvious pass interference. Levi Wallace is absolutely garbage. McDermott has nothing to do with the offensive play calling. Everything you just said is relevant only to Daboll and Allen (audibles).

He’s talking about the play against Tre I think. Otherwise he’s wrong because Levi’s play was DPI for sure.

Brian Daboll having a really bad day, too. Playbook is predictable except when it should be. Two plays where they needed eight yards and all routes ran deep.

Tremaine Edmunds, Greg Rousseau and Ed Oliver look very good so far. Three important pieces.

I would imagine the teams are definitely in their ear giving them an idea what’s expected of them and what areas of their game they want them to work on.
