  1. I mean why not just go to the time tested elixir for winning Stanley Cups? Fleece the Buffalo Sabres in trades to get their key players and put them over the top to win Stanley Cups? Worked pretty well for Saint Louis, Vegas and Florida over the last decade or so.
  2. This reminds me of a story.... "There once was a legendary hockey player, Connor McDavid, who was so good, he could practically teleport with the puck. Everybody in the NHL knew he was due for a new contract, and Everybody knew it would be a monster – enough to buy a small island or at least a fleet of Zambonis. Then, the rumors started: he signed for a mere $12.5 million a year! Everybody gasped, realizing that Somebody, a rival general manager, would surely have offered him significantly more. After all, Anybody with a pulse and a calculator could see McDavid was worth $17 million, $20 million, maybe even a blank check written on the back of a playoff banner. But here's the kicker: Nobody actually did. Not a single GM from the other 31 teams picked up the phone to whisper, "Hey Connor, we'll give you all the money." Somebody in the media got angry about it. "This is preposterous!" they declared, waving their arms wildly. "Everybody knew he was worth more! Anybody could have made a better offer!" Everybody then scratched their heads. "Well, yes," they agreed, "Anybody could have. But why did Nobody offer it?" It ended up that Everybody blamed Somebody for not making a higher offer, while Nobody actually explained why McDavid, the best player in the world, signed for what most considered a laughable bargain. The moral of the story? Apparently, when it comes to Connor McDavid and the Edmonton Oilers, sometimes the most illogical decision makes perfect sense. Or perhaps, when the best player in the world says he wants to win, he really means it – even if it means leaving enough money on the table to buy a small fleet of slightly used Zambonis."
  3. How does he not demand $20 mil a year if the dude from Minnesota is getting $17??
  4. I disagree...he is a force on the penalty kill and also does a lot of dirty work in the offensive zone.
  5. this team can't ever start a season healthy...just is crazy.
  6. Can we agree to only start threads on Greenway, Norris and Samuelsson to announce they are healthy rather than injured? I feel like that would be a more productive thread, since saying they are injured again is almost obvious at this point.
  7. They should be playing Red Alert after the other team scores. "Red Alert! Red Alert! It's a catastrophe! But don't worry! Don't Panic! Ain't nothing goin' on but history! But it's alright! Don't panic! And the losing keeps on going on and on..."
  8. I bet Christian could take him in a fight.
  9. I don't care about what happened in other seasons. I only care about what happens THIS SEASON, in games they play here, moving forward. If one of the goalies starts off playing well, you play them until they stop playing well. UPL needs to first show that is even an option here, he is the one who we know the most about and he was abysmal. Everyone else gets a bigger benefit of the doubt with a new team and new situation until they, like UPL, proves they don't deserve it.
  10. No reason to start UPL based on his disgraceful results from last year. He will need to show why they should start him over one of the other options at this point. I still believe that UPL is most focused and at his best when having to battle for his job and quickly loses focus and attention to detail when he has no "competition" for his job.
  11. BRING IT BACK!!!
  12. They must have some of the most incompetent engineers in the country for it to have taken that long
  13. We need to revive Brass Bonanza...best goal song in history.
  14. Haha...no NFL regular season 😂 NFL pre-season isn't even watchable most times
  15. definitely not more enjoyable than the NFL.
  16. If by normal you mean constantly having to battle a multitude of medical issues, then sure...most would not consider that as "normal" tho.
  17. Wow! That is crazy...thank goodness they were able to get help for her and the procedure done. For Rasmus, I can't imagine this is not going to have long lasting effects on his mental state because it's not like she is going to be able to lead a normal life after this, and I cannot blame him one bit...nobody would be. It's going to be a tough road for both of them I am guessing.
  18. Greenway injured? It would be news if he was healthy.
  19. Business is business....probably will get done at some point.
  20. Hard to argue with anything that was said in that.
  21. Alex "Touch"?
  22. These teams move like people change underwear...it's pretty crazy.
  23. "I am a real American...fight for the rights of every man..."
