Good...this team needs to not take crap from anyone at anytime. That's how you begin to build habits...not just in the games, but in practice as well. They secretly loved it...about time they played like they actually care and build habits that will lead over to the games.

Massive tornado outbreak going on ahead of Hurricane Milton's arrival...17 tornado warnings in effect currently...and these aren't the typical weak F0 or F1 tropical tornadoes that happen a lot in Florida, these are intense ones. Expecting it to take some time for the players to stop thinking so much about what Ruff wants them to do and where he wants them to be on the ice in various situations and start playing freely without having to think. Obviously the offense or lack there of is concerning as well as the PP, but hopefully that kind of goes together with the point up top. Granato didn't seem very technically oriented, he gave them more of a "go play" type of system, which ALMOST worked the first year, but there were clear issues with it if this team wants to become anything more than a fringe playoff team. Granato did not do a good enough job implementing a system last year and that is where Ruff should succeed where he failed...Ruff is a very sound coach in terms of playing style and systems.

The most damage isn't done by the wind speeds necessarily, it's done by the storm surge and as all the storm wall/sand bag protections that were in place have already been destroyed by Helene, there is nothing left to protect from another massive storm surge so close behind it. So even if it misses slightly in one direction or another, in general that whole area is f**ked.

Tampa Bay is f**ked. Milton exploded to a Cat 3, then 2 hours later a Cat 4, and is going to be a Cat 5 within a short time as it currently has 155 mph winds and is only 2 mph short of Cat 5 strength now. All I can say is...good luck. Anyone who decides to stay, make sure to write your next of kin with permanent marker on your forearm so they can be notified.

It doesn't concern me because: 1) It's one game 2) They are playing under a new coach and a new system and have different things they are being asked to do. It looked like they were thinking too much instead of just playing, which isn't surprising. Likely is going to take a little while for them to be able to just go play and know what Ruff wants them to do and where they should be on the ice.

So does Carolina...nobody seems to talk about it as a problem with them. Overreactions are the norm in Buffalo after one game tho...Bills are going to finish 3-14 because of what happened last week to them if you listen to half the posters on the Bills board.

Apparently back in 1881, we had a September that averaged 71 degrees which is mind blowing

Buffalo looks like it will have it's 3rd warmest September on record, giving us 6 of the first 9 months of 2024 that are in the top 10 all time warmest since records started being kept in 1873. Also had another month come in 15th so that was fairly close also. All months of 2024 have been at least 1 degree above normal except August which came in at "only" 0.7 degrees above normal. The "coolest" month relative to normal this year came in at 37th out of 151, which is still well above average. Unless we have a very cold last 3 months, easily should shatter the record for warmest year ever recorded in Buffalo.

It's honestly shocking how the areas that weren't directly impacted by the brunt of the hurricane seem to be the worst off out of all of this... How is that even possible?? That must have been like Biblical rain where it just looks like someone pouring buckets down your windows for hours on end to the point you couldn't even see outside.

Yes. I think Ruff instills a new attitude and mental toughness this team has been sorely lacking. No more coddling. No more excuses. Just an expectation you play well and I think they will. Time this young team grows up.

Have family down in Columbia, SC and my BIL works as a line repair person for the utility company and he has been basically nonstop since it happened....said he has been doing it 20 years and traveling all over when places get hit to help out and he said it is the worst he has seen since he's been doing it.
