  1. If this is true, we need this and need this badly: "What stands out about Prokhor Poltapov is his confidence. Despite his small 5-foot-11 stature, he plays a power game. He takes a straight-line approach to driving play and is just as likely to try to go through an opponent as he is to go around him. He also has strong puck-handling skills and can dangle or toe-drag his way around opponents. It makes him a nightmare to defend against in 1-on-1 situations because he keeps defenders guessing whether he’s going to attack them, bull rush through them, or try to go around." A guy who will go hard to the net and isn't afraid of a little contact...
  2. The sad thing is it routinely is acceptable to draft a guy in the mid teens with the hopes his upside is a 3rd line player in the NHL. Could you imagine that in the NFL? Drafting a guy at 15 with the hopes he is a good backup?? Sure some players don't pan out in the NFL but the expectation is much higher for players in the NFL in the first round than in the NHL.
  3. Dominik Hasek had a pretty small sample size in Chicago too didn't he? Not saying he will be anything close to that, but perhaps KA sees something that leads him to believe he will be a very good NHL goalie...
  4. It's gotta be Power. Unless they trade down for assets.too bad his name isn't Austin.
  5. Way more than anyone could have imagined.
  6. Wait...what??? That is a Darcy Regier level fleece job by KA!! Great value back...almost unbelievable actually...
  7. I don't buy that. So Vegas took a bunch of players that nobody wanted and suddenly all those players became talented? There is far more mental aspect to all of sports than people want to admit. Talent always seems to perform best when the environment allows it.
  8. There is no way this team should have been bottom of the NHL with Eichel and Reinhart. There are teams completely devoid of superstars and even good players for the most part that outperformed this team on a yearly basis. You don't understand the concept of getting the "wrong people off the bus" before getting the right ones on. When you take over a situation like this, you have to ship off the disgruntled players who are not with the program and don't want to be here to allow the other players to be free of negativity. Negativity kills success faster than anything. They've had plenty of time to be part of the solution, what has that gotten us? A bunch of last place finishes.
  9. We need to get the "core" players that have been here and gone through all the losing out of here. Regardless of how good they are. They are jaded and are not going to ever be able to get past that to be successful here. That's just how it is. In any organization, the players who have only lost year after year after year just need to be shipped out. They are lost, their mental ability to get past that is gone. They are beat down, and only think negatively about their time here and as soon as something goes bad, they think "here we go again". It kills their drive, their motivation, and we need to get rid of them before they poison the rest of the young team with their mindset. In essence, we need to move Eichel, Reinhart and Risto to save Dahlin, Cozens and the other young players that will form the backbone of this team as the "new core".
  10. Sure it is. Those fans don't even know what hockey is for the most part. I am talking more as fans
  11. Makes me sick to my stomach these BS markets down south winning the cup as we suffer and haven't won anything in 40 years. They don't deserve it. Yeah...maybe it's sour grapes but it is also the truth.
  12. I mean he did also want the Bills to take Mahomes, so there is that...
  13. It's his life...it's now or never...he's not going to live for-eeeeeeeever.
  14. Are you crazy? I would want more than that for just Eichel
  15. That is pretty crazy...wonder if that is something that could bother Eichel long term or be reoccurring?
  16. I've worked out for many years and lifted far heavier weights than Eichel has I am pretty sure. My trainer used to train some NFL players and I was in such good shape that he gave me their workouts to do which were insane x 10. I never had a herniated disc, so whatever he was doing must have been with weights that were too heavy or form that was terrible or both.
  17. Jack Eichel releasing 15 NFT's https://finance.yahoo.com/news/jack-eichel-buffalo-sabres-nhl-131800259.html
  18. How does anyone even have a conversation about this? Eichel is an elite NHL talent. Drury for all the great things he was, never even in the same area code from that standpoint as Eichel.
  19. Put up horrible numbers in Rochester, he isn't ready in any way shape or form yet.
  20. I don't know who these guys are but they are making Pittsburgh look pretty silly today.
  21. THIS Sabres' team is fun and entertaining to watch...a shame they had to suffer through RK's idiotic system to get to this point but I wouldn't be against Granato becoming the full time coach. These guys clearly play for him.
  22. Well all those years of only 6 teams probably makes that stat seem more impressive than it really is but it still is impressive nonetheless.
  23. What's new. Dude is out for weeks at a time several times a year. How can he be counted as a number one goalie? As they say in the NFL, the best ability is availability.
  24. The amount of injuries this team has suffered is just staggering. I would guess they lead the NHL by a wide margin in man games lost to injury.
  25. Darcy was able to fleece teams on trades in almost unbelievable ways
