  1. Hopefully they also prioritize a good backup because Ullmark will be out 25 games with injuries. Dude is always getting hurt.
  2. Why are they even bothering making trades for such garbage returns? I'd just not make the trades to keep other teams from getting better.
  3. Abysmal trades so far by Adams.
  4. How is this team suddenly scoring Bunches of goals?? Imagine how much better they could be right now with Eichel...
  5. Yes...the mortality rate is high in NYS due to circumstance. It was the first place to get a major outbreak in the US thanks to the wrong people flying into their airports and not LA or Chicago or Atlanta. NOT through any real fault of their own. In fact, a large part of the reason other places have lower mortality is due to the work done in NYS hospitals with no information on what to do, no set procedures or protocols, no drugs to treat it, no real understanding of what it actually was and a lack of ventilators. All of that stuff had to be learned on the fly, taught to all the hospitals and staff and then implemented as part of updated protocols and procedures...all while in the midst of unprecedented numbers of patients flooding in and staff dealing with exhaustion. So to be quite honest, the statistics you bandy about are meaningless to use in the way you are trying to use them because they lack any context. This is a perfect scenario for showing how you can show anything you want with statistics when you have no understanding or context of the situation. Of course those other places will have lower mortality rates...they got to use all of the knowledge NYS created from nothing that they had no ability to use for much of it.
  6. The initial COVID situation was not done well, but truthfully they were working with no real data as to what to do. Once they figured it out, we kind of became a model for how to control COVID spread for many months through late spring into the summer and fall...there was no excuse at all for those other states to have the outbreaks they did. They got to see everything NYS did that worked on a large scale and they largely chose to ignore it.
  7. OMG! You Rock!!!! Just booked 3 for myself, my wife and my Dad for tomorrow
  8. Well yeah, I have an appointment in Corning but its like a 2.5 or 3 hour drive. None are available in the WNY area
  9. I know...which is what I am saying...they just made it 40 and over a few weeks ago and then quickly moved it to 16 and over...now instead of competing with 40-49 year olds for appointments, I am competing with everyone and their Mom.
  10. Unless you already have had COVID before(either knowingly or unknowingly) and then it gives you a huge immune response after the first dose which can be higher than the response from the 2nd dose in people that didn't already have it. You will have a strong reaction after the first dose FYI
  11. Irritating that they keep loosening the restrictions when it is already near impossible to get an appointment in this area that isn't from refreshing the screen 10 times a day at these places and trying to rush to get your info in before someone else takes it. How about they just allow the age groups they just moved down to, to get the vaccine before they keep opening it up to more and more people that makes it harder to get an appointment?
  12. It seems like the team just is playing free now and not having to do a bunch of extra thinking out there
  13. I mean, if we finally have a coach that seems to get this team to play well, understand what they are supposed to do on the ice and execute it and look like a competent NHL team more times than not, then who cares what his name is. Hire Tiny Dancer for all I care.
  14. Why do we assume he is a bad coach? No NHL experience but he is the winningest coach in Worcester IceCats history in the AHL with a 191-130-45-14 record. Who is to say he might not turn into a very good coach given enough time and growth into the position? Clearly he has something working lately with a 3-0-2 record in the last 5 games with 8 of a possible 10 points and leads in the 3 games prior to that.
  15. I am not sure what Granato has done exactly but they look night and day different from the team under RK
  16. Sabres drafts are almost as bad as Belichicks drafts with the Pats the past 8 years
  17. Looks like Hall will be out in anticipation he will be traded shortly...
  18. The problem is that Ullmark gets hurt for long stretches every year so we can't really rely on him and we have AHL level goaltending behind him. They need to upgrade this badly in the offseason. I think Ullmark is turning into a really solid goalie and we can win with him as the #1. He also is the best shootout goalie in NHL history by save percentage(0.868) for any goalie with more than 10 shootouts.
  19. I'm not so sure Eichel isn't the problem anymore. He is the captain and under his watch this team has done nothing. Lots of different players, coaches and GMs. Same piss poor results. Maybe the reason the team performs so poorly is because their captain allows them to and doesn't hold anyone accountable. Maybe he gets coaches fired. Maybe his untouchableness on this team allows him to get away with things that wouldn't fly on other teams and rubs his teammates the wrong way? Maybe that is too harsh but at this point he could equally be part of the problem just as much as he could be part of the solution.
  20. The Sabres are the equivalent of the guy from The Old Man and the Sea...sitting in a raft with no sail, drifting aimlessly in the middle of the ocean talking to their hand, at the mercy of whatever way the ocean currents decide to take take them that day...
  21. Haven't watched a lot lately...has Mittlestadt turned the corner and playing like he belongs in the NHL? I saw he scored last night but not sure how he has looked night in/night out since being back in...
  22. Well...it was about time they actually controlled a game they had a lead in and didn't give it away.
  23. It's the NHL making stuff up as they go not me...a loss is a loss. Those teams with ties would have had opportunities to win in OT just like the Sabres have had and have failed so it really is irrelevant whether a point was awarded or not.
