Should never just dismiss a poll. Is the outlying result likely to be a more accurate representation of the race than the average? Nope, not at all. But it's not impossible either. Narrative-wise, yes of course. But there's nothing mysterious about the race tightening. This was expected as it almost always happens. Also, the widest lead was combining a good convention bump for Clinton with arguably the worst two weeks of the Trump campaign.

I misread, I thought you were presenting the dropoff as their argument. That it's your argument and not theirs does not disprove my point, however :) And? Do those passes do anything? Are they quality pre-snap hot reads that move the chains? Are they Trend Edwards-quality checkdowns? Sam Bradford has an entire career of pedestrian performance, and one stat in isolation doesn't change that. Maybe he's not, but the difference isn't the difference between missing the playoffs and being a legitimate contender.
