Agreed. O'Reilly-Eichel-....Bailey? For this year, anyway. -

Bailey! Awesome. Lundqvist has been poop this year. -

No starting, I've been there! When the whole thing came together, I had pictured O'Reilly-Eichel and Kane-Reinhart as the long term pairs in the top-6. Of course, now I hate Kane and the Pens' Cup run last year made me dream of 3 balanced lines, but I'm still okay O'Reilly-Eichel! I just didn't see a compelling reason to force it early. -

He's still the best center on the team. That said, I'd like to see what he'd look like in Jack's wing. O'Reilly's best season was playing wing for Duchene, and he could cover a lot for Jack defensively. Missing the playoffs, experiment dammit! -

The last time I missed the entire first period and we had a 2-0 lead...bad things happened, man. I'm sorry everyone, but I'm watching the rest. -
You're clearly just afraid of chasing her to lesbianism like George Costanza :p

Could easily put this in the complaint thread, but my gym is in the midst of a huge renovation AND I'm dealing with resolution people. It's a show.

I think there's an argument to be made, particularly with a poor defense. But I'm of the mind it's closer to spinning your tires than true forward progress.

I remember loving him as a prospect. We should put a claim in, doubt he's worse than Deslauriers.

I think Romo can be traded whenever the season ends, it's just a matter of financials with the teams involved (I don't know if he has any payable roster bonuses coming, when they are if so, and how that cap charge moves if a trade happens) . I suspect that when Dallas is eliminated, the Romo sweeps will begin in earnest. As to Cousins, he's the type of QB that you and people like Jeremy White would much rather have because he throws the ball a ton, but I don't think there's a good statistical case that he's much of an upgrade at all. He'll have more 300 yard games and will throw to the whole field, but his accuracy comes and goes and he enjoys throwing to the other team. I'd also guess his price tag will come in noticeably higher if he hits the open market.

Without looking deeper at the PK numbers, that'd be my guess. But it could also just be happenstance since PK goaltending numbers are insanely variable from year to year, to say nothing of luck in a 30 game sample.

The data hit would have been $10 on Verizon, and I think nothing on AT&T or Tmobile. You graduated and have a good job, stop being absurdly cheap! :p Well, we know what Freeman is gonna be dreaming about tonight.

Bogo. Because Sakic.

Yea, I can't say I'm excited about it...but I'm cooling on the notion of treating this as an either/or proposition...and I'm not entirely sure why I ever did. Keeping Tyrod as the floor on QB play AND trying (legitimately trying, not Cardale trying) to get better at the same time seems like the smartest play.
-
I'm not the biggest Duchene fan, but at some point you have to stop trading your centers away. Well, a competent team would anyway.
-
Why? Do you believe a GM should only get a single kick at the coach hiring carousel? Sure. A good one? Eeeehhhhhh.

From purely football perspective, he's right. The chances we can legitimately upgrade the position are slim (though I don't think getting better value is nearly as unlikely). It's the term on the contract that sucks. That said, if we can't swing a trade for Romo, I'm honestly leaning towards picking up the option even if he won't renegotiate. Still take a QB early, and if he beats out Tyrod in a year, I think Tyrod can be traded. This wasn't my initial position, but if they're not going to blow it up, they might as well keep trying to win now until they find the long term answer. If, in two years, it's still only Tyrod and we're still average overall, clean house at that point.

Bylsma this morning: Kulikov day to day O'Reilly and Ennis both 7-10 days away.

"I know everything sucks when Gorges is there, but this setup gives us our shutdown pair." More or less. Good times. Edit: One thing he did finally say was they had to get more chances. The first step is admitting you have a problem...not that I think he's actually going to identify his system as the problem. Edit #2: I found his comments about the hierarchy totally innocuous. I think is follow-up comment was simply saying that at the end of the day it's the Pegulas' team. Seems a pretty standard structure for the Sabres.

Okay, who made the time machine and brought Marvelo here from Alabama, circa 1960? Time to fess up.

Pretty sure hockey-reference uses GSAA in all situations, whereas I was citing even strength data.
-
Nono Taro, don't be silly, the roster sucks, it's all Murray's fault, Bylsma's a winner. Or something.
-
Yes. It may have been the most wide-open game we've played this year. Probably not too surprising as NY also stinks at possession hockey.
-
This is an amazing story. I'm glad you're okay, because if something bad happened I'd feel pretty crappy about laughing so hard picturing you running through the woods chased by homeless people. Honest question: why in the world wouldn't you turn to Google maps sooner?

I wish it didn't come to this (cuz, ya know, I want to watch good hockey), but Fed-up Dudacek is one of my favorite posters :)
