I'm just gonna go ahead and say it: Eichel looks checked-out mentally.

http://www.espn.com/nhl/boxscore?gameId=400884901 Well played

I would gladly pay good money to find out what Murray really thinks about a good many Sabres-related things.
-
Had a nice setup to Falk earlier too. Moulson and Foligno.
-
The Sabres took a penalty...you'll never guess what happened next.
-
What can I say? I'm day drinking!
-
We're going to kill this penalty, and Jack is going to score on a breakaway coming out of the box.
-
That's exactly what it looked like to me, especially with him just letting it dangle there as he skates off the ice.
-
He was for a stretch, but Hamilton said he was back on the bench by the end of the period.

To this point I like Murray's amateur scouting much more than his pro scouting. On this note... I think the bigger issue is trades really don't happen much at this point in the season since too many teams are still alive, plus the requirements of the expansion draft adding gum to the gears, and I don't think it's reasonable to expect any kind of major move....however....maybe the big trade misses have made him a bit gunshy? Going back to the offseason, I wonder if 2014 Tim Murray would have given Anaheim what it wanted for Fowler. Point of order: he said rebuilds don't have to take 5 years, not that they shouldn't. Fine line, admittedly, but I think there's a difference there. More to the point, I think it's simply reality that Murray already fired the largest bullets in his holster, the return has been underwhelming, and waiting is his only real option at the moment.

Yea, I don't think I'd say "stuck" at work. More like "Fortunate to be working"
-
Indeed. Not exactly conducive to generating pressure. But hits! :wallbash:
-
Great play by Franson to set up Kane. Hey, somebody has to say something positive!
-
Sure about that? I haven't seen him dig many pucks out of corners :p
-
On the bright side, Nylander with another assist. He's tearing up the World Juniors.
-
You're being subjected to Jack Edwards for this fiasco? I'm so, so sorry.
-
The guy who is going to be centering our 3rd line following Larsson's possible shoulder explosion.

I don't feel like waiting for the complaint thread. My father's cousin and best friend died today. Cancer, because of course it was; served in Vietnam, so real good chance agent orange him hard. My father doesn't make friends easily and suffers from severe, oftentimes crippling, depression...so yea, not a great New Year's Eve Eve. cancer, man.

Well we did send some out: Armia, Lemieux, Compher, Stafford, and Grigorenko, all went out the door in the big trades. Regardless of what they all eventually turn into, that was a good chunk of forward organizational depth. So it's not like we only traded from the blue line. Further, I would argue for big trades the main pieces had to be from the back end because that's where our big chips were--we didn't have a forward version of Zadorov or Myers. Anyway, the point I was trying to make was that all else equal, moving out more forward pieces rather than Dmen probably doesn't make the current team better, it's just shuffling deck chairs. If we had McNabb and Pysyk in lieu of Larsson, Girgensons, and Foligno...I really don't think we're a better team. At least not to any meaningful degree. The problem with the non-O'Reilly trades isn't what went out, but the quality of what came back. We made quantity-for-quality trades that ended up being quantity for lesser quantity but similar quality. It basically worked out to a Myers/Bogo wash, and paying Lemieux, Armia, and a #1 to upgrade Stafford to Kane. Fugly for sure.

Eh, when Matt Moulson is getting regular top-6 ice time, I can't say I'm super excited to think what we'd look like with fewer capable forwards here and on the way. Welcome back to top-6 duty Nic Deslauriers and Brian Gionta!

Well, Landeskog has been on a three year slide too. I'm just not willing to put a ton of stock into individual performances on that team this year. That aside, I disagree that our wings are terrible. They're not ideal, but they're not terrible either. Plus if you look at things organizationally, we have help coming on the wings of both the high end variety (Nylander) and depth variety (Bailey/Baptiste/Fasching), whereas our RHD is an apocalyptic wasteland outside of Risto.

If we're trying to pillage the Avs, the target should be Barrie.
-
Justin Bailey has been recalled. Sucks that it took Carrier's injury for this to happen and not, ya know, Deslauriers' general awfulness. Hopefully he gets a real chance with Jack or Samson.
-
Yea well. I'm not going to be mad if we pick up the option, I think there are some good reasons to do it, I just wouldn't personally do it without a restructure that gives us more flexibility the next few years. You and Randall, however...the board may have to collectively help you through watching Tyrod for two more seasons

Not so fast, indeed! Last year you were an early member of the anti-Bylsma task force. You, Eleven, and I, formed an unholy alliance to take down Bylsma and form an Internet criminal empire the likes of which the world has never seen! Now he bails on you, breaks your heart, and you're 50/50 on Bylsma? WE HAD A PACT!
