  1. Engaging in some good ol' Saturday morning drinking, eh? :p
  2. I can't put into words what I would give for this. Unfortunately, it's way easier to just show up to a broadcast and scream "MOMENTUM" 50 different times and 35 different ways. *Insert grumbling about Bylsma's breakout/puck-movement and zone entry/forecheck strategies here*
  3. This remains the coolest thing ever associated with Sabrespace.
  4. Huh, it's almost as if we know what we're talking about! Go figure. As an aside, the systematically limited dangerous shots against is why Lehner's GSAA is gloriously average, despite his cumulative SV% being quite good. In other words, although he's being peppered by shots and stopping a respectable number of them, it's not overly hard to stop what he's being asked to stop.
  5. Yes. He even used it to extend his thought process to whether it meant Samson was also putting in less time in the weight room.
  6. ...do you know for a fact these people still like you? Cuz, I mean.... :p
  7. I thought Kris Baker hated stats? He used xG!?!? I approve, just surprised is all. Also, is this an appropriate time to snark Paul Hamilton for bloviating about Reinhart's work ethic because he doesn't work with O'Reilly after practice anymore?
  8. Yes. Wouldn't be surprised to see us come away with three 2nds or more.
  9. Some of these things have some vague familiarity, which means they probably contributed to me leaving the engineering major back in the day
  10. I thought that was only true for green bottles? Anyway, I can taste the can when I get beer from a can. Maybe placebo, won't deny it, but it's there. From a can I always pour, feel I have to. Bottle is 50/50, really depends on situation.
  11. Sell. He's going to sell.
  12. I won't deny it's a mental thing, but cans are not superior. They may not be worse, but they're not better!
  13. The flare up over what Eichel said is reason number 8885244588663585999655 that hockey players are usually empty cliché machines.
  14. Talk about something being misconstrued. All he said was a "yea duh" statement about how fans boo when the team sucks and cheer when they're playing well. I can't believe anyone is interpreting what he said as complaining about the fans booing.
  15. The number of craft beers now coming in cans. Bottles > cans.
  16. I know there was someone else who loved Nylander as much as me. Was it Thorny? Whoever it was, your help is needed in the Kane thread!
  17. Do you think our drought is still a virgin? What would losing its virginity even be? Enough wins to get in but missing on a tiebreaker?
  18. Putting the puck in his own net doesn't count ;)
  19. In other news, is Baptiste hurt? Did he vandalize Murray's car? What's he gotta do for a call up?
  20. Yea, I really don't think the choice is Kane or Nylander. I think the question is whether investing a significant contract on Kane prohibits a significant investment in the blue line (barring the miracle of someone taking Bogo's contract).
  21. Right. Maybe he'll never be as good as his brother, maybe he's just behind in development...but the path they took was quite a bit different. I still expect a full offseason of pro strength training will have him ready to go in October. Edit: It's also worth noting that the Marlies are perpetually one of the best AHL teams, so his brother was in a really good situation. The Amerks, meanwhile, are a seemingly permanent mess, and currently playing Bylsma's "I hate scoring at ES" system.
  22. I remain happy that Murray failed (to try?) to upgrade the team's forward depth.
  23. Well, as our smelly colleague mentioned, most kids of his age and talent are still in junior, so his AHL production in his first post-draft season is really apples to oranges compared to players hitting the AHL at 20-21 following a full junior career. How many players go to the AHL at 18 and light it up? Welp. Cap hit aside, I don't know how anyone could be comfortable going 6 years for Kane. How long before the cumulative effect of those injuries negatively impacts his play? Edit: False alarm! Apparently he's in. FU Brawndo! :p
  24. I don't understand the seemingly sudden pessimism re: Nylander. His World Junior performance should have everyone giddy for his future. I understand he's not tearing up the AHL, but I think that speaks more to the AHL being the wrong place for him than anything else. Thanks Murray. Maybe he's a little farther away than I think he is, but I distinctly remember comments on how far away Reinhart was after his 9 game trial, concerns about his lower production upon his return to junior, how he needed AHL seasoning...and he scores 20 as a rookie with zero AHL time, despite not having a regular scoring role until a quarter of the way into the season. Nylander is my boo. Back off!
  25. Gimme gimme gimme.
