I think there are perfectly reasonable concerns to voice after four games. Things like whether the roster changes were actually meaningful upgrades, for instance. Concern that the roster is any more than a high 80-point team. On the other hand, thinking O'Reilly forgot how to play hockey over the summer, I don't think is especially reasonable. The "it's time for another rebuild" is another. But as usual, I think the histrionics are preventing good hockey debate from taking place. This is all fair to talk about. And lo and behold, you were able to do so without self immolating because the team is ruining your life. Other people? Not so much.

I want every Sabres fan who was happy he landed in Toronto "because rivalry" to throw themselves over the Falls.

This is essentially my feeling on the matter, and mostly why I think the league would be better off just getting rid of it all together. Oh, and your new avatar is delightfully appropriate right now :lol:

I dunno. I have some morbid curiosity about what this place would be like if we lose again, especially in ugly fashion. Nuclear holocaust, maybe?

Mostly I think people see his shot and just want him to use it more, with a side helping of being tired of watching players fail to cash in on his dishes. I definitely agree he's more of a pass-first player by nature, but on this particular roster, I'm not sure that's best serving the team.

So last weekend I ran my first 5k while in Athens. Admittedly, I haven't run as much as I want since the move, and I was just coming off a sinus infection. And it was 7:30am. I ran a 23:25, 7 seconds off my personal best. I was happy because it was quite a bit better than I had expected, given the circumstances. But I was also kinda ticked I missed my best by a mere 2 seconds per mile, and I've been beating myself up over it since, hyperanalyzing the run. This is insane, right? :lol:

I think both you and D4rk are right. I think Jack has a bit of a natural and difficult to coach arrogance about him, but I also think that could have been mediated by a different style of coaching his first two years as a pro. Instead, Bylsma exacerbated it. Bad fans, maybe. :P ;)

Savage :lol: I think Bylsma firmly believed in the traditional top-6/bottom-6 split, and his use of Sam reflected this more than his evaluation of where Sam, in a vacuum, should/could play. "Sam has too much talent not to be in our top-6, but he's our 3rd best center, so to the wing he goes." I honestly think it was that simple for Bylsma. This is my shocked face. The Bunker is accepting re-admittance applications for those who foolishly left over the summer.
