Lehner: Mediocre or the Goalie of the Future?
TrueBlueGED replied to WildCard's topic in The Aud Club
Right, I don't think he's bad or anything. I just haven't seen anything that suggests growth potential beyond age...and at some point his games played should count more than his birth date. -
If by "shopped" you mean Jeter hanging up on every team not from an NYC area code, sure :p

Lehner: Mediocre or the Goalie of the Future?
TrueBlueGED replied to WildCard's topic in The Aud Club
Here's the thing: has he gotten better at all? I've seen zero development in his game. He remains, to my eye, gloriously average. -
Is this the "we didn't even know he was available!" version of no offer being made? Sort of like when the Bruins traded Hamilton for a sack of potatoes, and the entire league did a WTF wave?

Larsson is one of those guys I think the speed of the game has hurt. I think he has some legitimate defensive chops, but his legs hold him back now.

Projected NHL Salary Cap increase per LeBrun

If it hits the $3 million dollar low end, will you admit this post was a wee bit premature? :p- 38 replies

There is no way the Yankee offer was the best they could get. Zero.
-
It's almost as if he's wildly overrated.
-
Duh?

You may be right, but as a hockey fan, man would I love to see Karlsson and McDavid on the same team.
-
Yea but he's more frail than your average 90 year old.
-
I'm happy we won, and I generally think we're a pretty well-coached team (Dennison aside). But man, McDermott's Andy Reid-like game management is going to cost us games.
-
I can't imagine being at this game and staying past halftime.

Your world sucks :p

Games like this are why I don't want a dome. It's gloriously terrible!

I definitely would have expected it had I known they'd still be the worst team in the league. I just didn't expect us to still be in last place in year 3 of Jack's career  Regardless, it's been pretty intolerable to read, IMO.
-
I think so too. However, my willingness to trade him for Karlsson has very little to do with Jack, and everything to do with Karlsson.
-
Saying he's underperforming is one thing, but that's not what I was critiquing. The way he's been getting slammed around here has reached near-hysterical levels. It many cases, it has escaped all logical foundation (such as suggesting Jack could benefit from AHL time as it would teach him to work hard....as if he'd have to try hard to be the best player on the ice). Wanting Jack to be better is fine, but the way this forum has read in recent weeks, I genuinely think people are throwing the entirety of their tank-related and team-still-sucking-related anger onto his back. Jack has become to many what Uncle Terry is to PA.

For the Bobby Orr of our generation. See We've, I'm not *that* infatuated with Eichel :p
-
Yes. There aren't too many players I'd trade Eichel for, but the best defenseman in the league is one of them. Of course, if Melnyk won't pay Karlsson $11 million, I doubt he's willing to pick up Eichel's contract.

I have some Founders CBS waiting for me back in Buffalo. Needless to say, I'm pretty excited about it.

I can't believe Freeman is making a public appearance and I won't be there for it. I'm so sad :( -
Or you and plenty of others are projecting way too much team failure onto him. Or in the case of at least a few, letting a personal dislike of him unfairly color their evaluation of his play. If everyone lost more puck battles but could produce offense like Jack, we might actually be a playoff team.

Congrats to Jeter on doing his old team a solid.

exploring the idea of John Tavares as a Buffalo Sabre

I can only assume, based on this, you have no faith in Botterill.
