But that's all environmental. What is it about him that makes you think he'll develop his accuracy? Or do you think his only problems were the coach and WRs?

I think a reasonable argument can be made to go D over wing when talent is relatively equal, as it's the more important position. I was a Nylander booster anyway, but I don't think it's inherently a poor argument. On the other hand, anything resembling "Sergachev was a slam dunk pick" is clearly hindsight. Yea, Sergachev had plenty of questions and McAvoy would have been a "reach." It happens. This draft looks similar in that any of like 5 guys could end up being second best after Dahlin. I definitely agree we could use a 3rd center to ease the defensive burden on O'Reilly, but that's a spot I'd prefer to get some value...or at least avoid a contract with the longer-term cliff scenario Staal carries. ...and particularly if we added Tavares, I'm not sure I'd give a flying F who else played center for us :lol:

Those numbers are barely off his career averages. If they indicate he was a corpse, then he's always been a corpse.

You can hate the trade on its merits without pretending Kane is a 30-goal scorer. He's a 20-25 goal scorer, most of which will come at even strength. That's valuable. But he's not a 30-goal scorer in any meaningful sense.

If we trade O'Reilly for anything that isn't a bonafide top pair defenseman, I quit.

FWIW, thinking a player will be drafted high and thinking a player will be a good pro are not the same thing. I think he'll be a bust, but I also think he's likely to go in the top half of the first round.

Black Panther was fantastic. I had sky high expectations after hearing how good it was, and it met them. Between this and Thor, I have renewed optimism for Marvel movies.

Going to see Black Panther instead of reading all of the trade aftermath has turned out to be an even better decision than I expected it to be.

Hope Dale Tallon decides to trade 2/3 of a top line again to protect Bjugstad? And for as talented as Kane is, GMs weren't willing to give up anything for him.
