Saying Trochek is as good or better than Eichel right now isn't completely insane, but I definitely disagree with it. On the other hand, I'd argue preferring Trochek long term is pretty nuts. To make a Dudacek-style argument, when Trochek was Jack's age he had accumulated a whopping 30 points in 70 games. Jack has (not counting this season) 177 in 209.

But if Housley's deployment is contributing to nobody else scoring, then it certainly does matter.

My hatred of Jeff Skinner will survive scoring goals for my preferred hockey team. He scores 30 this year? I'd punch him in the face for not scoring 40. He scored 40? You guessed it, punch him in the face for not scoring 50.
