  1. And next? If Allen still isn't ready to play in year 2, then he's already a bust and we should draft somebody this year.
  2. Looks like I may have been wrong about Barzal's drop-off without Tavares. On the other hand, early returns on "I don't think Couturier suddenly morphed from a 35 point player to an 80 point player" are pretty good. Hooray for predictions!
  3. You're not wrong, but I'm still kicking you out of the Bunker if you repeat this.
  4. I hate everything. It was slated for the cancelled practice. Not mad at saying Risto is a dumb hockey player, mad at the particular word choice.
  5. Jack Eichel isolated in the defensive zone is...not ideal.
  6. I'm glad Bogosian took that penalty earlier to change the momentum. Right, Swamp? (I choose to snark so I don't cry)
  7. It took 10 minutes from the penalty for us to get a shot, soooooooo
  8. I think this is right. What kills me is, McBeane probably know this too. I'm concerned they're going to go on a spending bonanza on offense, bomb, and hamstring their replacements.
  9. Regardless of what Peterman does, the handling of the QB situation in particular (and the offense as a whole, really) is enough to get a coach/GM fired. Now, I don't think it will get them fired, as I think ending the drought buys them another season. However, Pegula has shown a willingness to make changes before it was necessarily expected he would if things are totally off the rails. They could have chosen to have players instead of dead cap. They also could have chosen to use their resources to improve the offense. Let's not pretend they were dealt the hand of the worst offense since the merger and had no choice but to play it.
  10. Eichel is going to score a goal coming out of the box in the 3rd. You heard it here first.
  11. It's genuinely impressive how badly they've botched the QB situation. I agree they won't be fired, but they're probably on the hot seat entering next season, right?
  12. Congratulations in advance to everyone who has the Bears defense in their fantasy leagues.
  13. There might not be any urgency, but there's no reason not to. Adding a WR for this season would be a bad move, but this is about adding a WR for next season. You do that when you have the opportunity, whether it's now or the offseason. And the free agent WR corps is...not strong.
  14. Flipping McCoy into Thomas while moving down in the 4th and adding a 7th isn't giving up a pick. Literally. It's not. Semantics aside, you could address the substance of my position. We're not drafting our way to a strong WR corps next year, and the contract it'll take to get an established free agent to sign here won't be pretty. There's value in getting a vet WR who can still play on a contract.
  15. Well, in my scenario, we're not actually giving up a pick, just moving backwards in the 4th (though I would give up a 4th). Rookie WRs, even the great ones, usually have an adjustment period and often don't make a huge impact until year 2. We can't just draft our way to a good offense next season. We're going to need to spend some money on veteran help at the position, and Thomas has the advantage of not needing to commit long term, even if he's expensive for a season. He also has the advantage of being under contract, because I don't think convincing a free agent WR to sign here is going to be easy.
  16. Not sure it was possible, but pulling off the Thomas trade then moving McCoy to recoup the 4th would have been a petty appealing set of moves to me.
  17. Golden Tate to the Eagles for a 3rd. I wouldn't have done this, given the expiring contract. But I'd have been l over that Thomas trade.
  18. Broncos trade Demaryius Thomas and a 7th to Houston for a 4th.
  19. Breaking News: Liger likes player from Georgia. More at 11. ?
