Did you feel the same way about Miller at first?

Wrong again, Miller won a training camp battle, won the job then broke his thumb and Biron won, what 13 in a row. Again Miller didn't prove anything on the ice, he won a training camp competition. Why do you think this? What is your reasoning?

Wrong answer! He won a training camp competition, over Biron and Noronen. He didn't prove ###### on the ice in games, like you want Enroth to do. Which he has already done, by the way. Miller is consistently average, if that is what you are talking about. Enroth has still outperformed Miller last year and this.

Why keep talking out your backside? What more does the guy have to prove? When given the chance he has outperformed Miller, last year and this year, and you consider Miller elite, right? or at least a great goalie? So how does outperforming the starter make Enroth "not clear starter material"? Geeze!

Actually, according to the NHL GAA goalie stats in yahoo, J Halak has the lowest shots against at 286, all the other 35 goalies ranked higher than Ryan have at least 400 shots against. I don't know where you are getting your info from? Of the only 23 goalies that have at least 25 starts, Ryan is 21st in gaa and 13th in sv%. So what that Ryan has a higher work load, it doesn't mean he is succeeding at it. SV% and goalie starts, I get 16 to your 12, but whatever, still don't know where you are getting your stats from.

Well, i'm ready to hear another teams fans whine and complain on how they were fleeced because Miller's GAA and SV% are similar to what they were in Buffalo at only 37th and 20th respectively. There are only 30 teams in the NHL right? He is currently 37th in GAA, so all teams have 1, and 8 teams have 2 goaltenders better than Ryan in GAA. All Star material alright. I think Darcy is going to have a hard time moving him this summer, IMHO. Who would want him? Maybe a contending team needs a backup. The only option might be letting him walk next year after his contract ends.

Isn't it a foregone conclusion that Darcy overpaid for his players? He paid average players better than average money, right? At least that is what alot of people have said. Leino, Connolly, Vanek, Gaustad, Hecht, Stafford, etc, etc. Why isn't Miller thrown into that mix? An average goalie being paid too much. Just because Darcy overpaid an average goalie does not make him elite. Darcy screwed up alot and Miller is right in the middle of all it. Miller like numbers do not command $6.5 million per year. Enroth has had Miller like numbers the past 2 years, and what does he make? $700k. If Miller goes and Enroth is #1 I don't envision him demanding $6.5 million per. Half that maybe, 2 or 3 years down the road.

Anybody dude, and for a ton cheaper. It's easy to replace mediocrity with mediocrity. If you are not interested in upgrading the position then you are satisfied with mediocrity. I'm not, I want a better goalie. I think there are a couple of them in the organization now, all they need is a chance, kinda like Miller was given a chance.

Been down this road many a time, do you not remember reading numerous posts about better goalies than Miller? I will not ever understand why some think Miller is the be all end all, nobody is better than him, he is irreplaceable, and every excuse ever is always made on why he stinks the place up. Miller is not very good, and it would not be very hard to replace him. This argument is very R Fitzpatrick like. There are a ton of bright young good goalies that are better than Miller, sorry you have tunnel vision and can not see that, and for me, I could only hope that was his last game in the blue and gold. Time to move on from mediocrity, I would like better at that position. Again R Fitzpatrick like argument.

Not very difficult to find a goalie better than Miller, the league is littered with them. Do you watch anybody other than the sabres? If you did you would see that.

Vanek is better than both Pommer and Gaborik imo.

Fell soooooo far off the table last year his save % was still higher than Millers. What's that say about Ryan? Also fell so far that he improved his save % and gaa, .010 and .03 respectively from the year before with twice the workload. The guy is going to be 24 this summer with 50+ games under his belt. Not much more to prove on his part. When does he get a chance in you eyes? What more does he have to do? Miller is not the answer, time to turn the page and move on. The sooner everyone can except that the better off it will be. also in Enroths 12 game losing streak the sabres scored a total of 19 goals in 12 games. not going to win anything doing that.

No! Rid this team of Miller, Stafford most definitely. If I had to keep one, Vanek is the one I would keep only if a good deal can not be had for him.

Going into last night Tampa was the 2nd highest scoring team, 3rd now. Also the day before in Washington, Tampa scored 4, 3rd period goals to get the game to overtime. Hardly mailing it in.

Nah, don't agree at all. They are both young with good skills and huge upside, Cody has more upside IMHO. I didn't like the trade at first because I liked what Zack brought, but now I think it was a steal for Buffalo.

Fair enough, but that is a lot different that what you had said about him not being sticky, and having no career in the NHL but only Europe. I think he will do just fine in the NHL. He's played 32 games, shouldn't the guy be afforded some more time before he written off as a career Euro player?

Ok, whatever. I'm not overly confident that the former coach had the ability to develop younger guys nor am I confident in the decision making of the GM's ability to write a young guy off as no good. Obviously the GM has no talent in evaluating players, and Ruff punished young guys. I think Brennan stays in Florida, as Dineen had him in Rochester, and he does fairly well. 7 points, a +1 in 11 games on a bad team tells me he isn't totally void of NHL talent like you imply.

Why did they have to waive him at all? could have traded others away, there were things they could have done. They didn't have to get rid of Brennan.

Yep! and he seems as frustrated as us with the lack of effort. Lack of talent can be dealt with and accepted but lack of effort can't and Ott seems like that is really bothering him. I vote to make him captain and give him free rein to confront everybody in that locker room, then tell Darcy ship this guy or that guy out because he just doesnt want to give an honest effort. Wow, TJ Brennan has 2 goals 5 assists and +1 in 11 games with Florida. Had to get rid of a young talent like him because he is obviously no good and not on par with Meyers talent level.
