Yep, Luongo also had 2 shutouts against a tougher team in the Bruins, than Millers 2 shutouts against a weaker team in the Flyers that year. Luongo had a bad game 7, no doubt but Miller also gave up 4 goals per game in the other 5 games of that series against the Flyers, not good at all.
-
Don't know why the need to cherry pick? Luongo played 2 playoff games last year, so does that really count in your analysis? Just take their career playoffs as a whole and their stats are eerily similar 2.53 gaa, 2.46 gaa and .916, .917 sv%, 32 wins to 25 wins. Other than Millers first 2 years, including this year he will have only played in 13 total playoff games in the last 6 years. At least Luongo is getting to the playoffs, all his playoff work is in the last 6 years, and will probably have more playoff games this year. FWIW, Luongo hasn't choked any worse than Miller has the past 6 years.

If Miller were to retire after this year, is he HOF worthy? I don't think he gets close to getting in. If he maintains similar stats for the next 5-7 years then maybe, but I still don't think so.

No more nuts than when he dropped them with Lucic.

Why try and tell people what they can and can't say on an opinion board? when and where?

This is true for every single goalie that has ever played. Whether it is for 1 period, 1 game or 5 games in a row every goalie has ups and downs and times of being "elite". The elite goalies have more ups than downs or "elite" moments, that doesn't seem to be the case with Miller and that is why he is seen as average to a lot of people.

wow Leo took the body.

the puck wasn't even going in

oh i forgot no goal ever is millers fault. my bad. :wallbash:

good goalie we got there

Disagree. Yeah we saw Miller at his best, but he also wasn't very good. He had two 1-0 shutouts, very good. He also let in 20 goals in the other 5 games or 4 goals per, not very good. Sv% in 4 of those 5 was below .900, not very good. Whereas the team offensively averaged over 3+ goals per in those other 5 games, pretty good for playoffs. Can be argued all day long about the players in front of him, the bottom line is he didn't stop enough rubber to get the job done, and the team was putting the puck in the net against a 3 headed monster of nobody goalies. I think Philly was a better team but Ruff got out coached and Miller got outplayed.

What does someones screen name have to do with anything? You know you lost when you feel the need to rag on someone because of their screen name or because of their spelling.
-
What does any of this matter when he consistently lets in weak goals from the blue line?

Bore me, please. Those Tampa teams he played on were horrible and it is safe to say Miller had a better team than did Smith during Smiths Tampa years.
-
Why in the world would Phoenix do that, they have Mike Smith. Smith is better than Miller. I think fans are going to find out Miller doesn't have much value because of his contract and frankly he isn't that good of a goalie.
-
I agree with you JJ. The bold part gave me a chuckle. Miller is almost entering the pro Fitzpatrick land with the excuses.
-
No he didn't. Miller started 05/06 as #1 then broke his thumb and Biron came in and played however many games in a row, then Ryan was given the job back.
-
Isn't that what they did with Miller? Just gave him the job, right? They didn't ease him into it, he didn't prove anything before it was given to him.
-
He showed it. Start of 2011/2012, look it up. 11 of the 15 games he played, his sv% was .923 or higher. He only had 9 more starts the rest of the year and 4 of those starts he had .923 sv% or higher. His sv% was better than Millers last year. What were you looking for?

Again I ask, why can't Enroth be the #1 guy in Buffalo?
-
Yep it should. I see you advocating for J Bernier in the GD thread. Why him over Enroth? Extremely similar career stats. Same age, similar body. Why Bernier over Enroth?
-
Really? when was he ever given a chance to be consistent?

Why can't Enroth be a #1?
