lol!! At least they are not pointless after the draw on Saturday, but I am starting to wonder if they will win all season. Still a long way to go, but I agree that it is panic time.

Here we go ... The AL Wildcard has come down to the last game of the season. 161 games played and 4 teams are still in the running. Today will decide it, maybe? There have been one game playoffs to get to the one game playoff. Red Sox (1) and Yankees (2) are tied and hold the WC spots with records of 91 and 70. Jays (4) and Mariners (3) are tied and 1 game back of the Sox and Yankees with records of 90 and 71. There are all kinds of senarios, but it would be really interesting if the Jays and Mariners both won and Sox and Yankees both lost. All 4 would have identical records.

I think that some are questioning if that was carried forward in their purchase agreement, or if the Pegulas had to agree not to move the team when they bought it from TG. Maybe they have to put a similar clause in any agreement they draw up when they sell. Maybe they don't. I am not a lawyer and I don't even want to play one on SabreSpace, but I don't don't know if that kind of clause automatically carries forward in future agreements. I would doubt it, but the law makes little sense to me.

Robin Lehner goes off on buffalo again.

Take it easy. You have misread his post. -
Easy there big guy. Don't ruin my pleasant Sunday afternoon, eh. I'll be ...

Interesting thought. I really don't think the Pegulas are planning on selling the team. They are inempt in one regard only, IMO, which is the fact that they have had no success in hiring people for the most important positions on the team ... GM and coach. I am not sure if they are ignoring advice or are listening to the advice of idiots. Maybe this time they have it right or maybe this time they will get lucky like with the Bills. I actually believe that there are worse owners out there. That guy in Ottawa, for example, although he seems to be staying out of everybodies way now.

Sabres goalies get no love in Yahoo Fantasy Rankings
Sabres Fan in NS replied to gilbert11's topic in The Aud Club
Why should they get any love from Yahoo Fantasy Hockey Rankings ... they get no love around here and we are supposed to love them and all Sabres. -
John Rigas, disgraced former Sabres owner, passes at 96

A man has died. Say what you want about him and his legacy. Why does it always have to be bash the Pegulas? I am not thrilled by many of the things thay have done as owners and the way they have run the Sabres. Mostly their clear inability to hire the right people in certain jobs. Maybe Ruff and Regier should have been kept all along? Who knows. What I do know is the Pegulas are trying and it's very unlikely they will end up in jail. -

I did not know that, not surprisingly. -

I hope and pray that he finds peace when he meets his maker. I hope his family does the same and in some way provides some restitution to the many victims of their crimes. -
The Sabres have never had a 'Jack'. Not ever!! We have had a few Johns though and a few Jacques (which sort of counts).

Sent you a beer. Also, the return key is your friend ... lol!!

Hey @Wyldnwoody44, When you make your way to Transylvania ... If you hitch a ride and a dude named Vlad stops ... don't get in the car. And if you see a sweet transvestite named Frankie hitch hiking you may not want to stop ... then again, you could do worse ...

Today (September 30th) has long been known as 'Orange Shirt Day' in Canada. It was started by a grass roots movement to recognize the extremely horrific history of Canada's treatment of our Indigenous People, especially the sending of children to their graves (more commonly known as Residential Schools run by the Catholic Church). Countless never made it home. Just a terrible part of our past. Some very recent past ... the last Residential School closed in 1998. It is the shame of our nation. This year the Federal Government made today a statutory holiday for all federal employees and federally regulated industries. Today is the first ... National Day of Truth and Reconciliation. I am proud to say that Nova Scotia is one of only three provinces to also recognize today as a provincial holiday. Most businesses are closed and there are many events planned. Today in Halifax there is a mi'kmaq (local Indigenous People) flag flying from the top of the MacDonald Bridge spanning the harbour that separates Halifax and Dartmouth. The bridge is named in honour of our first Prime Minister who was an avowed racist and caused grief for many that never elected him. He was also the initiator of the terrible Indian Act in 1867, which is still in effect today, although changed quite a bit. We all no the truth of what happened ... what we did. It is time for the reconciliation. That flag on that bridge is part of it. My typing this post is part of it (very small part), as it is in the forefront of my mind. I have done some reflection today and will continue to do that. There must be justice in order to have a final reconciliation, but we are starting. Another great step that is long overdue is to ensure that there is safe drinking water on all reserves. I think we also need to give our native people more of their land back. And not just parts we don't need, or use.

Zidane himself got quite a lot of it due to his heritage (his parents came to France from Algeria) and that he is a practicing Muslim. I agree on your second point, but it's not that much better in the US and Canada has a lot of issues with our Indigenous People.

What do you expect from: #24 Dylan Cozens?
Sabres Fan in NS replied to dudacek's topic in The Aud Club
He will not be going to the AHL. He will be fine. He will be finer than fine. It's well understood that John is not a leader of men. He is not a team first guy by most accounts. Dylan seems to be both. -
What do you expect from: #22 Jack Quinn?
Sabres Fan in NS replied to dudacek's topic in The Aud Club
I really don't know what to think about Quinn. I think it will be between #1 and #2. I am hopeful, so went with #2. I think on this team with this roster that is not a farfetched notion.
