  1. You can't just do a drive by like this after so long. Welcome home. How you doing?
  2. Guys who are very nice, but say they will call / text when they are leaving from the Valley (2 hours away) and they won't be leaving there any earlier than 09:00 since they are retired and men of leisure to pick up the washer and dryer they have a verbal agreement to buy form you and show up at your door at 09:15 and are surprised when I call to ask them WTF ?? ... nice guys, though and now they are gone with the wsher and dryer and that's the main thing, eh !! +++++ In case yous all were wondering I have decided not to use any punctuation ever again ...
  3. I prefer F1, but not a big fan now. I loved Mario though back in the day and would follow him and his races. Monaco is the Superbowl of F1 and what a beautiful setting.
  4. Our washer and dryer just sold, so we are 100% success story with a very small sample size. Again, it's our friend that did all the leg work on this.
  5. The core is a work in progress at the moment. Therefore, the Sabres don't have a core yet. A young and developing team does not have a core yet. A core is only something that is in place once the team moves into the playoff yearly and eventually contender status. There is no point discussing the core now since there isn't one really. We really should be talking core when Rasmus is in his prime, so 5 years from now ... In five years I see the Sabre core being ... Dahlin and Power on D. Tage, Tuch, Cozens and another player either on the roster now or who will be very soon (in the system somewhere now or this draft or next at the latest). I am only going with 6 core players, but they obviosly will need others that are close to core and very good players in 5 years time. Goalies are rarely seen as core players in the traditional sense, but all good teams need one ... Levi will be it for the Sabres.
  6. It doesn't seem that he is suggesting starting the redraft at number one. Mearly that when you start at number 2 the discussion is likely to be a lot about who the Sabres picked at #2. Why it was not a good pick and who would you select at #2 instead.
  7. 1. 2. Marner 3. Aho 4. Johnny 5. Ratanen 6. Connor 7. Kaprizov 8. Barzal 9. Meier 😎 10a. Boeser 10b. Hanifin I have a coin flip or spinning wheel at #10. This is how I would rank the players for the #2 pick by the Sabres. That is all I took into consideration, so there is no consideration of team needs at any pick even #2. I think if there was a real redraft this is a reasonable ordering of the top 10.
  8. Won't it be fantastic when the Sabres are playing in a game like last night's. Full marks to the Blues. They never gave up. I still think Colorado takes this one and ends up playing TB in the final.
  9. A quick Google outs the percentage of gun owners at around 30%. Problem is I don't think that the 3 perps in the most recent cases are included in those numbers. If I were to guess I would think that the 30% even is low. If you are real gun nut you will likely own many and will probably not want everyone to know that you have them and perhaps many of them.
  10. I have no idea how any of this stuff works. A friend put up our washer and dryer and it looks like it's sold and being picked up tomorrow after a test run. One thing good about FB is that you can target your market for your area, so you will not get some yahoo from Tim Buck(ed) Two (that's in Canada, eh !!) calling like an idiot.
  11. I told yous guys that I can't remember any of them not without cheating and I have no time for that.
  12. *Give me a NHL goaler or give me death!!* New Sabre fan slogan.
  13. I'll sees yous all in *the club* any minute now ...
  14. Seems unlikely from reports last night that police engaged the shooter in a fire fight before he entered the school and the armour saved him. I have not followed since yesterday evening and those reports may be defunct now.
  15. Reminds me of when the Hawks were playing Edmonton and Sutter was trying to solve Wayne and now he is coach of the flames and he is trying to stop this generation's Gretzky. He had marbles in his mouth even in 1985 ...
  16. Is that the *wanker* thingie ??
  17. I think the Sabres are getting to where we all want them to be. Optimistic for the future. The most optimistic in at least 10+ years. Man that's a long time.
  18. When ever I see the bolded I think of ... A real cutie ...
  19. I was just trying to be diplomatic, eh!!
  20. I think he has scored for Buffalo. I can't enen remember who the Sabres drafted in 2011.
  21. If we can't respect each other enough to have a reasonable dialogue on here then there really is no hope for America. @LGR4GM and @WildCard you are both on the same side here. Stop being jerks, okay? It makes it hard for the rest of us (well, me) to focus and contribute.
  22. In before the inevitable move to the *club*. These things do happen in other places (NS two years ago was the worst one in Canada, but there have been others), but not to the extent as in the US. If we assume that there has to be some underlying issue that compels someone to do this ten we have to look at why there are so many more of these mass shootings in the US. We all know what the answer is ... they can easily get guns in the US and in other places they can't. The Texas shooter decided to buy two assault rifles (I think assault, but maybe not, but it does not matter) for his 18th birthday. Just because he could and there were really no questions asked. A year prior he was threating to shoot up his Highschool. It was reported and nothing happened.
  23. I came back into the club to say one thing. The real issue in the US is two fold and you can't fix the second without seriously working on the first and most important issue, IMO. People who are desperate and scared because they find themselves in a terrible situation ... unemployment, addiction etc ... need to be able to easily find and get the help they need and / or have someone be able to do it for them if someone notices the first sign of issues. In Texas and in Buffalo that did not happen. In Canada we have similar problem in our healthcare system. These issues need to be addressed in the US, Canada and many other countries where lack of mental health supports exist. The second issue is that in the US these people are easily able to get guns. This ussue will never be properly addressed without addressing the first issue in a meaningful way. Norway (I think or maybe Finland) has more guns per capita than any other country, including the US, but we never hear of mass shootings there. In large part because of a better healthcare system, but also a different culture than in the US. The culture in the US is not going to change anytime soon, so the best way to address these shootings is to address the mental health care system. That's the way I see it anyway.
