  1. dumb. I wrote my reaction earlier here: http://sabrenoise.com/2011/11/14/nhl-declares-open-season-on-goalies/ Lindy seemed to agree: "It just means that teams will be to able do exactly what Lucic did," Sabres coach Lindy Ruff told reporters in Montreal. "Your goaltender can play the puck, we can run him over, we can hurt him and all you get is a two-minute minor penalty. "That is essentially what that means - You can concuss the other team's goalkeeper ... it means it's fair game on goaltenders again."
  2. NO SUSPENSION.
  3. Isn't their owner or GM on this years Board Of Something-Or-Other for the NHL?
  4. I can't imagine what it's like to be a Sabre fan in that environment. Next time, I would be down to go there with ya though!
  5. I should have said, people HAVE BEEN debating the legality of the hit. Boston posters appear to believe it was legal. Some of them even have gone so far as to say Lucic eased up before the hit.
  6. People can debate the legality of the hit, but Lucic gets suspended because: 1. He is a repeat offender 2. It was deemed illegal in some way, otherwise no penalty would have been called 3. It was Ryan Miller, whom the NHL still uses as one of it's top faces of the game 4. It caused an injury 5. The hit has become a huge story. If the NHL is trying to reduce injuries/concussions, a message needs to be sent, and they need to show a commitment to that plan.
  7. That's actually a pretty cool idea for a thread. When I was a little kid, me and my dad went to an Amerks playoff game in Utica against the Devils. 1990? They talked $h!t all game. Afterwards, they were throwing rocks and bottles at my dads car when we were leaving. I think they turned over the Amerks bus too, but I dont remember.
  8. The Miller/Enroth debates have transitioned smoothly into Sabres/Bruins debates.
  9. I would have cross checked Lucic right in the mouth. Either that, or two handed slash to the back of his knees.
  10. If nothing is done at the rematch on the 23rd, I'm probably going to sell the rest of my minipack tickets. Watching last night made me angry, sad, and embarrassed.
  11. Maybe we can get Ray Lewis on skates or something.
  12. Rumun Ndur, Uwe Krupp, Mike Hartman, Kevin Maguire, Gord Donnelly, Brad Miller, Bob Boughner.
  13. Thank you. This is exactly what I was going to say.
  14. Maybe it'll be like one of those games earlier in the season, where they only try in the 2nd half.
  15. Here comes another day with McKelvin.
  16. I was under the impression that we drafted Kassian to be our version of Lucic, but it sure looks like someone has put him on a leash in Rochester.
  17. Miller is right. Lucic is a piece of sh!t.
  18. Agreed. The Amerks win makes today even more F'N Fantastic. Hopefully they will both do it again tomorrow!
  19. Let's go Jagr Bombs! No Miller/Enroth controversy on my team!
  20. I actually posted that comment after his pass interference and ensuing poor coverage on the TD the next play. What a terrible game today. 4th and one inch - could even get that inch.
  21. At least McKelvin is looking stellar today.
  22. Damn. That looked like an INT to me. Could have saved 3 pts
  23. Is that the same as Brass Monkey?
  24. That time, a predator caught Hansen, instead of the other way around.
  25. There is an Amerks home game on Sunday. Today is F'N Fantastic to me because of how well the Sabres have started the season. Also, hitting up the moonlight Amazing Maize Maze tomorrow night, should be fun!
