  1. Some odd line combos tonight.
  2. I just don't picture him hanging out in hockey circles with top brass telling him that they are laughing at the Sabres. Per the article, all it took was one scout from another team saying something negative, and that was all the yarn he needed to spin with.
  3. I'd love to see him skate on the 2nd line for a game and see what happens.
  4. I'd agree with this. Hodgson is 43% on FO, and Ennis 40%, so there isn't a huge difference there. Maybe put Ott back on the top PP?
  5. A coach can absolutely be the blame for an individual players play and stat lines. It's his job to design the plays, and to see what is and isn't working for the players. It's his job to motivate players and get them out of slumps. If someone gives a puck away over and over, it needs to be corrected somehow. If a line is playing great, yes, the coach can be credited for it, but if its only one line out of four, that praise doesn't go far. When I spoke of Grigs, I was talking about his future development. I am not confident that Lindy develops players well. For quick examples, see the slumps that Vanek, Stafford, and now Myers, have been prone to having. Most players go thru slumps, but I am not convinced they come in the same frequency of some of the Sabres that Ruff has had in the last 10 years.
  6. If Kaleta, Scott, McCormick, and Ott are all in for this game, having Gerbe in instead of Grigs is of little use. Grigs hasn't been great, and he hasn't been terrible either. He was a factor on yesterday's GWG. I say he has more to learn by being on the ice rather than watching from a press box. But then again, I am no Lindy Ruff.
  7. The writer wrote an article for a news site. It's being dissected by a forum of avid Sabres fans. I think the audience for the article is more geared toward a general reader, a passive observer. Someone who is saying to themselves "what's wrong with the Sabres?" but doesn't know the answer or care enough to look deeply. It's fodder. It is curious that most of us see that the coach is likely a problem, and that Pegula does nothing about it. Would Stafford still have zero goals in 12 games with a different coach? Would Myers still be struggling? Will Grigs (and soon, Armia) develop properly under Ruff? At this rate, we may never know.
  8. Malkin.
  9. I am mystified as to why he isn't on the first line PP instead of Ennis or Foligno.
  10. Marchand wasn't at the morning skate, so it looks like he's out. Looked like the B's will be starting Khudonin tonight and not Rask.
  11. I agree with this, except, why wait to make a coaching change?
  12. It's Friday. Just got paid. Got a new Cadillac. Sabres just romped the Bruins. IT IS A FANTASTIC FRIDAY!!!
  13. Who is Meyers?
  14. It must be a Boston thing. They always always seem to have something to whine about if one of their teams doesn't win.
  15. It wasn't Boston lighting the lamp. Unless I counted incorrectly, Scott landed 10 punches, and Thornton landed zero.
  16. Found these gems from some Bruins fans: "go ahead Buff, step up to the plate and get pummeled, no way are looch, thorny, mcQ and even Horty not going to be ready for it- and while you guys are worrying about 'defending your honor' the B's will be lighting the lamp" "Buffalo and their fans have always been jealous of Boston. Down in Carolina, the Canes fans hate the Sabres and their fans."
  17. Terry has been doing a good job. Regier has been doing a good job. Nothing to worry about, at this point.
  18. Being outshot 21-11. Losing face offs 24-15. Yet, winning 2-0. Yep.
  19. Ehrhoff. The guy has been in the NHL for 9 seasons now.
  20. I like Sylvester, but not as PBP. RJs son was awful when he called those West Coast trip games the other year. I hope to hear RJ tomorrow!
  21. Thanks for this. I never looked beyond the 1400s and wondered why its 2013 and games were still SD.
  22. Ryan Miller has lost in each of his last six games in Toronto, with a 3.40 goals-against average. He's 3-6-0, 3.36 GAA in his last nine against the Laffs. Vanek has one point, an assist, in his last 3 games in Toronto.
