  1. I spend a lot of time on this board (and am similarly young and learning), but I've never read the archives. I thank nfreeman and betweenthepipes, who's posts gave me incentive not to make a fool of myself. I still make a fool of myself, but at least I came out of the gate with the best intentions. I'm finished with high school forever, I didn't once cry, and I'm excited for a relaxing, F'N Fantastic Summer. The Olympics happen in the first half of August and then I leave for Montreal in late August. I'm just happy that my life finally feels like it's moving along.
  2. Got back from Bonnaroo earlier. I got to see RHCP, the Roots, Flogging Molly, City and Colour, Radiohead, the Kooks, Fitz and the Tantrums, Skrillex, and Fun. It was amazing, but after being awake so long I just need to sleep.
  3. Yup this is mine too. Four quick passes and the delay by Vanek. Then he just snipes the top right corner.
  4. Being a nerd is a good thing. We're elite.
  5. Remember your number two pencils and a graphing calculator... Nerd.
  6. My girlfriend's been home from college for two weeks now. It's just so F'N fantastic to have her around (all the time) again.
  7. Just got back from work. Working while sick = not worth it :(
  8. I'm on that boat as well. I don't really enjoy dancing on television, but a close friend of mine and my girlfriend are both dancers (and pretty damned good, too). I'm not sure how much of my enjoyment comes from being a musician, or the influence of my parents. My mom still dances wildly every time she feels the slightest urge, and she turned fifty nine yesterday. My dad's influence is why I became a musician, but that's not really relevant. Had to show this some love as well. My complaint is that I missed the first frisbee game of the year last night because I had to work. I stated clearly on my availability that I cannot work Sunday and Wednesday nights, and my boss accepted it without a word to me. Then he schedules me for a Wednesday night during last weekend when I was out of town, and I don't see the schedule until Tuesday when it is too late to find a sub. I haven't gotten a chance to see my boss yet, but I always give them about a month's advance when it comes to days I can't work. Then I ended up spending the majority of my shift reading Sabrespace and sifting through the waste at the Buffalo Bills Message Board (ughhh) because there were no f*cking customers. Now I have to wait until Sunday to play frisbee, and I have solid blocks of school and work until Sunday night. This also means that I wont even be able to see my girlfriend. And to top that all off, I threw up twice last night after the hockey game and I still feel like crap. Okay. Much needed kvetching accomplished.
  9. I have an hour and a half left of school today to get a project done. I'm heading up to Montreal with my dad and my girlfriend as soon as I'm done with school. This is sucking.
  10. http://www.merriam-webster.com/dictionary/schadenfreude Click the speaker symbol right next to the word.
  11. Don't tell anyone but I rarely complain. I just come to this thread for schadenfreude.
  12. I am a horrible procrastinator. Two final papers written in four hours was probably my worst high school memory of all time (one of the grades was pretty damned good and the other was randomly assigned by a horrible teacher*). I'm sure you'll start before and do better than I did on your papers. ;) *I got an eighty five on a supposedly easily graded final paper at the end of AP US History. I thought I didn't write a half bad paper, either. A friend of mine wrote a paper that was a good two pages shy of the page requirement and was mostly made up of a comparison of the NAACP (advancement of colored people) with NAMBLA (man boy love association). My friend got a ninety three.
  13. I deal with something similar all the time. My girlfriend is very shy and doesn't stand up for herself when something's wrong. I always try to be understanding when she's stressing out about something, but her problems usually stem from not wanting to look stupid in front of other people. After I'm gentle and understanding, I usually can't help but sternly remind her that she needs to assert herself and not worry about unrealistic consequences to standing up for herself. Utterly untrue! Girls are the ones that are scared of us :P It's my senior year and I took a specialized health care class that lasts half the day. I got to shadow at hospitals every few weeks. I originally thought that the best part of it was that I got dismissed an hour and a half earlier, but now I know that it's not having to stress about multiple finals. :flirt: Sorry for the gloating. You'll do just fine :P
  14. Awesome! I hope I can do this well at McGill next year (so F'n excited). Any advice on how to get a 4.0?
  15. Well that's certainly a negative way to look at it
  16. I'm really sorry to hear that, Chz. Sometimes, people just can't conquer their demons. My deepest sympathies are with you and all of your friends.
  17. A couple friends of mine, my girlfriend, and I are going to Bonnaroo in a little over a month. I'm incredibly excited.
  18. The first season had more popular music, but the second season was much funnier
  19. I wanted Floyd as well. I don't hate the idea of drafting a CB, though. I hope they address WR in the second and LB/OT in the later rounds, because Stevie and Fitz need help.
  20. People were wrong about Drew Stafford, which is why being excited about Hodgson's potential is silly.
  21. I, of course, agree with everything dEnnis just said about Roy. I can't remember how many times I saw an offensive rush stall because Roy got the puck and he held it too long. Roy has good hands and a nice shot, but a playmaker he is not.
  22. I disagree about Roy's vision. Roy never seems to see the ice too well. Hodgson is still young, and we've seen flashes of his vision and skills, but he's only been a sabre for 20 games. Roy is useless. I hate him.
  23. I'm a much better bassist than I am a drummer.
  24. I'm playing drumset in the pit for our highschool drama's production of The Sound of Music. The singers are F'n fantastic and it's a pleasure to play for them.
