Sulzer wasn't a world beater when he was in, he was just solid. He is 28 and has basically been a 7th defenseman in his NHL career so far. He seems like a better bet for consistency than MAG ever was.
And you are underestimating Cody Hodgson. He's also just 22.
Subtracting Roy adds to the team. Addition by subtraction. Yes, we need another center, but I legitimately believe that getting rid of Roy made this team better.
Jonathan Huberdeau and Eric Gudbranson got drafted 3rd overall in 2011 and 2010 respectively by the Panthers and neither of them played their first year.
Everyone sort already is assuming that Grigs will start.
I haven't made my mind up on Semin, yet. He's really really good at hockey, but he's kind of a pansy. That said, he's a proven NHL talent. With our team trending toward physicality, it might be a good time to sign a talented guy like Semin.
Every time you say that I either (like Liger) desire Coldstone, or desire to go get my own oreos and make my own Oreo Blizzard.
Thanks for clearing that up for me.
If I had to bet on it, I'd bet that he plays in Vermont (I have a couple friends who go to UVM and it's ~2 hours from where I'm going to school, so I wouldn't be so disappointed by this).
We are in agreement everywhere here. I understand why people are being pessimistic, but with the all of the young potential on the roster someone is bound to have a surprising year.
Good post. I completely agree about keeping the Ennis line together, and I up your Hodgson point prediction to 50-60.
