  1. Pominville hasn't even been Captain for an entire regular season yet. EDIT: Nevermind, it seems like you were just making the point that Pominville and Drury aren't even comparable right now. I love this comparison. I've been incredibly optimistic about Ennis's future ever since he flipped the puck over that Philly defenseman and got a scoring chance. Ever since he came back from that high ankle sprain, he's been looking more and more like a first line center. Fingers crossed.
  2. D. Sedin going down wouldn't really have affected Hodgson's playing time that much in Vancouver because H. Sedin and Kesler are still healthy... Am I missing something here?
  3. A lot of great points in here. I would just like to remind everyone that Tyler Myers turned 22 in February. Now the excuse for him is "But he's only 22!" :P As for Tyler's potential... Color me optimistic. I think that his current contract may turn out to be a bargain.
  4. I didn't think about it at first but it does make sense. Leino's a good forechecker (he was a Flyer) and he plays a pretty decent 2-way game.
  5. Jarret Stoll has 135 hits, 5 goals, and 13 assists this season. If he gets over 4 mil then Villie Leino might turn out to be a bargain eventually
  6. Funny story about post widsom teeth surgery: I ran into my girlfriend and her father right after she got her wisdom teeth taken out. We both live in Elmira, but we ran into eachother completely by at random at the McDonald's in Ithaca (fifty minutes away). She was drugged up laying in the car and didn't believe me when I told her who I was. :P Complaint: Yesterday, my new laptop was supposed to be delivered to my house but UPS bitched out because of the weather conditions (they weren't that bad). Today, I went on rotation at the hospital an hour later than usual because of a scheduling conflict. On a normal day, I would've been home in plenty of time to beat the UPS guy but, as fate would have it, I missed him by fifteen minutes. :wallbash: I'm going to pick it up at the ups office tonight. Luckily, the place is right next to my brother's new apartment so I can go pick it up while I help him move furniture. Otherwise, it wouldn't have been worth the gas.
  7. This is true, but finding physical top 6 guys is still a pretty difficult task.
  8. I think most people have already judged it as a good deal, and haven't been looking for reasons to denounce it. Nobody forgot that Darcy's the one who got us into this mess.
  9. I'm confused as to why this is popping up at all. You have to give up something good to get something good. You both know that, so why say that you wished it would have been our garbage? Everyone wishes that.
  10. He's 24 now. I doubt he grows into a 50-60 point defensemen. Chances are higher that Gerbe turns into a 100 point forward.
  11. The bolded statements are contradictory. Winning attracts free agents.
  12. Now he'll get more ice time, and will most likely be surrounded by better linemates. We shall see.
  13. It depends on what kind of size we pick up in the offseason. I'll say again: I think that Kassian will pick up his physical game next season because he's still adjusting to the NHL this season. He can use his body incredibly well to shield the puck and will most likely improve as time goes on.
  14. Ooohhh seconded. CoHo does nothing for me.
  15. Still had all that anticipatory bile to share, huh? Just teasing. It will be interesting to see if Hodgson pans out. I, personally, like the move.
  16. This would be fun to watch, but I'm firmly against taking Ennis out of the middle at the moment. Given how much Lindy juggles the lines, I'm sure we'll seen Hodgson between Ennis and Gerbe at some point. ;)
  17. I don't think we're really giving up on Kassian, but giving up Kassian for something else that seems to be promising.
  18. First misspelling of Hodgson's name I've seen. I was looking for it, too ;)
  19. This will also give us another chance revisit the beloved "Lindy's system makes players soft" argument. I wouldn't be surprised if Kassian plays a more physical game next year, but I think it will be because he's more adjusted to the NHL, not because Lindy threatened to hit him with a stick.
  20. That's pretty scathing for a player most of us haven't seen much of.
