Hahaha my work isn't very intellectual, so movies are when I love thinking. So fun! And they tried really hard to depict a culture where horrble things happen to women without the movie's tone coming off gender-normative. Game of Thrones should take notes, but they won't.

I saw Spectre last night and I thought it was terrible. They managed to make Christoph Walz boring. That is criminal. The whole movie had very little contrast, nothing popped. I agree with WC that the fight scene on the train was awesome. Brutal.

I don't think we enjoy the same kind of thing. Scott Pilgrim didn't let its action-comedy genre get in the way of trying something different. Skyfall was excellent and Spectre was terrible because they actually tried in Skyfall. There's nothing wrong with movies that have simple plots that you turn your brain off for. But those movies MUST be visually interesting. They need to be built with vivid ideas of visual storytelling. Ant Man had a gimmick where mini characters were fighting on a toy train. That was a neat idea, and there were a couple cool shots that resulted from it. But that was the only time the movie charmed me.

I wasn't talking about that play specifically, but it was a symptom of a bigger problem. I've been noticing Jack's passes being unexpected for several games now. At first I chalked it up to lack of chemistry, but now I think Jack's not blameless.

Nobody really knows how to play with Eichel and he's making it harder than it has to be to learn.

With Moulson playing so poopy lately and Eichel looking lost in the offensive zone, I'm not expecting much from this pair tonight. Maybe they can help one another get out of their funks.

Hmmmm. But will Moulson an Eichel get 10 games to build chemistry before we have to shut up? :p

Paul Rudd is a very good actor. Kate from lost is... eh.

The most recent Marvel movie I saw was Ant Man. I read some pretty positive reviews, but man did it sour me on Marvel. It didn't really bring anything fun or new to the table. The main character was apparently a criminal who doesn't act anything like a criminal, and then the technology he uses to get small is all of the sudden the only power anyone wants so of course the bad guy has it too. It felt very by-the-book, which is usually when I bow out. Nothing is worse to me than a movie which tries nothing.

Gionta was next to useless on that top line tonight. HD NEEDS to dial back his playing time. It's getting absurd

No net front presence to speak of. It wasn't until late in the second that the Des-Foligno-Leggy line created a few opportunities by occupying the crease.

That goal was brutal. The Sabres passed it directly to the preds point man 3 times in a row.

We need beef in the crease. And of course the Preds scored on the only play they threatened to.

I agree. Especially because Samson's game (cerebral/defensive/playmaker) is a different beast in respect to development than Draisaitl's (strength/reach/offensive). I'm especially impressed with how well Samson has been handling himself on the boards.

My dad gets stopped by people all the time who are thrilled to see him. They usually excitedly introduce their family to Doctor Sandmonster. On Sunday I got aggressively hugged by a nurse that I never met just because she liked my dad so much. Maybe my dad is just the best guy ever, I dunno. Maybe Woody will share his experiences.

Ohhhhhhhhh. Yeah. Forgot about that. I love the Ullmark card. Samson being an artifact creature makes a lot of sense to me as well.

There's at least 3 universes where you and I are playing a never ending game of pond hockey. In two of them, I'm cross checking you into the crossbar over and over. In one of them, you're already dead.

I agree that Samson is blue. But Jack? Dude is closer to Red than Blue. Ullmark? White maybe?

Probably when the team wins 3 games in a row and the entire board is flooded with "I love this team" posts. Almost prickly enough to throw a body check tonight? Nahhhh
