When asked by police if he was hunting under the influence, he responded "You ever go hunting not high?"

Pi is secretly an AHL executive tryna improve the talent pool of his league.

Reinhart: Fewer minutes in NHL or more minutes in AHL?
qwksndmonster replied to pi2000's topic in The Aud Club
I think he's much more of a 2-way player than an offensive specialist. -
Why are you assuming 1 Dman per unit? If a team has Rasmus and 2 better offensive D-men they're going to have all 3 of them play the point. Who are the 2 D-men on these teams that are better offensively than Risto? I see no clear options for MIN, DAL, PIT, BOS, OTT, and FLA. Need I go on?
-
One person made a comparison to Lidstrom (which isn't unfair considering his age). Risto is playing like a no BS #1 right now and he's 21. He might not be a top 20 guy yet, but he's not as far off as you make him out to be.
-
Rasmus gets PP time on every team in the league and QBs the #1 on at least 10 of them.
-
He gets the toughest minutes. Faulting him for being on the ice for a breakaway? Worrying about + -? I was really hoping you would have more in your return to being the only one on the board who doesn't think he'll be a franchise defenseman.
-
Most D-men can (should be able to?) do that? Risto isn't a PP guy? Is this the universe where pi has bath salts for breakfast?

Nice observation BJ. Jack has a lot to learn on the defensive side, but at least he back checks like his hair's on fire. I wish O'Reinhart time would just become "center practice." What makes O'Reilly such a great player is his blend of strength and skill. The way he's able to so cleanly stick check and pick off passes is only possible because he tries like Zemgus and has hands and balance like Vanek. I'm losing my mind over how Sam's play is already starting to resemble O'Reilly's. Several times in the last few games I've noticed him creating turnovers by squaring up and taking space away from the puck holder. Given how much Sam's speed and strength have improved since last year, I think he'll be even better than O'Reilly. I always think of Kane as the lancer on that line, because his style is so different. He's the finisher and the hammer. I like. -
Eichel is at 19, Zemgus is at 45, and O'Reilly is at 62. What a joke. I voted Ryan O'Reilly, Vladimir Tarasenko, Mats Zuccarello, and Brent Burns.

He already falls 10 times less than Zemgus per game. -
Thank you for saying that Rasmus is Finnish, WC! The one hole that I see in Ristolainen's game is that he tries to be too methodical at times. I think this is what GoDD means with the breakdancing comment (although I think Rasmus has played a good physical game in the D zone as of late). You can see it on the first Kane goal last night. He and Risto had a clear 2 on 1, but Risto came in the zone at 75% speed and opened up way too early and took himself out of the play. Luckily, Kane still used him as a fake and got the snipe. Similar to Gionta, Risto is a guy that gets it deep almost every time.

Oh and good on Drew Miller for his dirty snipe. You don't see that every day. Pretty play, better shot. -

I'll add to what Blue said: Gionta is terrible on a skill line and on the PP. He does play a "smart" game, but it just results in us losing the puck more often than not. So many times I saw pucks go to Gionta that would be dangerous opportunities, but he doesn't have the skill or reach to make the play. Normally I get sick of it when the board is so down on a single player, but after last night I can't even be mad. Gionta was terrible 5 on 5. That was probably his worst game of the year (since his first 5 or so). Nice to see Zemgus get back into it. Great plays for the G and A. Larsson played OK, but he still lacks offensive pop. I'd like to see him centering the 3rd while Zemgus helps Eichel out. Ristolainen and O'Reilly are freakin' BEASTS. These two guys are why our team is so hard to play against. Kane! Such a pretty skater. The end to end rush that drew the penalty in OT was beautiful. So many guys on our team have no idea what to do with the space in 3 on 3. Not that guy. The refs swallowed the whistles hard last night. But they still called 2 really weak slashes that normally never get called. Bi-polar weirdos. -

Who Is The Biggest Disappointment So Far?

We over-back-checked. -
Jack because of his tools (size, speed, shot). He already has 8 goals, but is mostly creating offense on his own. Samson is older and is thinking the game better. They both have a lot to learn.

You should read my post about Spectre in the Fall/Winter movies thread. It really felt to me like nobody put their soul into Spectre.

Moulson, while being great on the boards, looks like he forgot how to shoot. Ennis doesn't know where to go or where his teammates are. -

This was rude and uncalled for. Even worse, it was directed at good hockey talk related to the game.
