The other day, I got to see my brother for the first time in 9 years. The last time I saw him he was home for, idk what, some kind of family thing, it was the week I moved to Pennsylvania. I got to meet 2 of my nephews for the first time. My son got to play with his cousins. My girl got to see exactly what I will look like in ten years(my brother and I look identical, other than the 10 years that separates us). It was friggin great. Hopefully it doesn't take another decade before we see each other again.

New brakes all the way around, new plugs, 3 new tire pressure sensors and an inspection later and I'm poor again. I draw the line at air filters. I can change them myself.

They'd waive the waiting period, put me in the hall of fame and every team in the league would retire my number.

Yeah, ***** that! Anyway, I had a heat shield rattling underneath today. Screwed that back in nice and tight. So I'm a raging ball of testosterone right now.

I took an almost 3 year break from booze. I'd get the question all the time. Just told them, gleefully, "I'm an alcoholic!" Then smiled. They all tended to ***** off, real quick. Like they had brought up the death of a child or something. Awkwardness entertains me. It's even more fun now when the same people see me with a beer and they think I'm sliding into a downward spiral, or I fell off the wagon, or if my life is falling apart....it's like, "nah, I'm just having a beer at the ball park." I can't even get through 3 beers anymore unless I'm in a social setting and am actively doing something. If I'm home, I'm asleep halfway through number 2.

Funny how the brain works. DuVall has been with Alice in Chains for 13 years and everyone I know still calls him "the new guy." I've seen them a couple times. It's always a good show. Going to see Hootie at SPAC in a few weeks. Can't wait, have a big group of friends from high school going. It's gonna be a blast.

I'll be going in mid February to ski pow and drink beer. I may add in hike backcountry, ski pow, drink beer. And if I can manage to save enough money; helicopter to top of Lone Mountain, ski pow, drink beer. Don't get me wrong, the early summer views are breath taking. But winter is my season, and I would never forgive myself if I went out west and didn't get waist deep in powder.

Hunt for Red October. Seriously, though, Big Sky is part of my five year ski plan. I'll get there.

2 weeks ago a friend of mine stopped to help a stranded motorist change a tire on the side of 81. He was hit and killed. So that sucked.
