  1. My phone has been on vibrate since 2003. Ringtones infuriate me.
  2. Coming from the guy who likes having hard rubber flying at him at high speed in hopes of it hitting his body. Its all about the speed rush in Alpine racing. I've never been injured once in a race. Slope style and big air however; totally different story. I've been in a few toboggan's behind ski patrolman and snowmobiles on the way to the hospital. No head or back injury, but I've broken both feet and tore up my left knee a little. Oh and I almost bit my tongue off once.
  3. Slalom baby! That's my jam! Love me some technical skiing.
  4. Oh, we always suck in skiing. Can't compete with hardly any of the European countries. I meant more in general. The speed skating and figure skating being most disappointing.
  5. I see Bode choked again in super combined. I know we're on pace for what the US normally does in terms of medals, but it really seems to me like we blow in these Olympics.
  6. I hate yellow jerseys with a passion. I can't figure out why I love Sweden's jerseys so much!
  7. Know where I prefer? I'll tell you where. Someplace warm. A place where the beer flows like wine. Where beautiful women instinctively flock like the salmon of Capistrano. I'm talking about a little place called Aspen
  8. ###### the french!!!! I kid. Nope, never been to Whistler either. I've done all of VT, all of NY and not enough of Colorado and Utah.
  9. That blows weave! I was once turned down for a promotion because my bosses thought I was "making my position look too easy." One of those bosses left, they promoted the right guy(for once) to replace her and I was promoted within a month. Its tough working for lousy people, but when you can work for someone who respects you and what you are capable of and they themselves are good at their jobs, it makes it all so much better. Its also better when your employers aren't threatened by you and try to help in your advancement. But I guess that's pretty rare these days. You sound like you're pretty damn smart/qualified/ good in your field. I think something good will be coming your way.
  10. My place of business is open 24/7 and we get no holiday pay, no shift pay, they only match 1.5% of our 401k and no bonuses of any kind, even for executives. Blows! However they do pay me 2x more than my last employer(same industry) and the last place paid holidays, matched 401k up to 6% and gave out Xmas bonuses. What can I say, I'm a mercenary who's looking for the biggest payday.
  11. Gore is the best mountain in NYS. Love Whiteface, but I'm a racer, so I dig the ice. Been to Windham twice for races and I loved it. Wouldn't mind going back but I just love Gore and Iceface so much. I've skied everything in Vermont and Killington(yeah yeah I know its over crowded) is my favorite. Stratton is great and so are Okemo and Mt. Snow. Pico is right across the street from Killington and its never crowded and very beginner friendly. Vermont rocks if you can get past the awful pizza and wings.
  12. It was as -9 when I left work at 3am. That was as cold as I saw. It's about 21 now and all the grocery stores are out of water and milk. Its hilarious.
  13. I'll take your word for it, doc. Gimme the mountain, the moguls, a well designed Slalom course and a 75 footer or two and I'm happy all day long.
  14. I skied every single day all winter long. Sledding never looked fun to me. Why would I walk up the hill when I can just hop on the chair lift.
  15. I however can believe that Bode Miller only finished 8th. Because he's always been a big fat choker! Hes a 5 event skier whose been in 3 Olympics and he never fails to underwhelm. He's probably praying to the god of drunken ski racers that he doesn't get shut out again like he did in Turin '06. This is the reason my dogs name is Bodhi, after Swayze in Point Break, and not Bode....
  16. Most of these ladies are bigger than Tyler Ennis.
  17. Yeah! And take your 1.94 meters with ya! Damn commie metric system!
  18. If you see anything that you like in the house that the seller might not be wanting to move, they may sell it to you cheap. I made out with breakfast table in the kitchen and 3 air conditioners for $100. Those A/C units will be coming in handy until I put in central air. I'd avoid buying everyday furniture. The financials everyone listed are great. Also if you are buying in a city with city gas and water lines running to the house don't let your inspector charge you for a water test. Its city water and there's nothing you can do about it. A good inspector will tell you that up front, a scammer will not.
  19. Tons of good info here. Just bought my first home in September and its one hell of an awesome experience. Take the advice listed above. Also, I don't know if you're handy or not(I'm certainly not!) But learn to be if you aren't. Expand your tool collection slowly and learn how to do things yourself. You will save thousands and it feels great being able to do projects yourself.
  20. Totally not safe for work! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mwNW8lqe1tk Totally not safe for work! LGR this one goes out to you. From a bunch of guys who were most famous before either of us were born....feel better man!
  21. VW alllll day! Learned how to drive stick on a '92 Fox. That car was impossible to kill. Owned a Jetta for a few years. I beat the hell out of my cars and the VWs take it like a champ. I only drive German and Japanese and am currently on an Infinity kick. But you can't go wrong with a VW. Edit: my lady is currently in the market also and she is of the terrible credit no financing all cash variety (although she's getting close to joining the awful credit but we'll finance you with an incredibly high APR club). She's got a Camry all picked out and needs her W2 and tax return back so she can be sure to get it before the owner finds another buyer.
