  1. It shouldn't be a concern after these next couple of drafts. That is the very core reason for the tank.
  2. Zads, Risto, Pysyk, Myers & Eherhoff. This to shall pass in time, this to shall pass.
  3. Honestly, I see him on Girgs wing on line 3 for a couple of seasons Fervently we pray, obsessed we hope, that this scourge of the next 2 years passes away........
  4. This! It tells the full story, doesn't it though?
  5. Haha, no wait.....I think your right :-(
  6. Exactly. PK specialist with great locker room presence. Solid bottom 6 pickup for the rebuild
  7. I think it'll be Reinhardt if we get the 1st overall. I don't see h ad a C-S winner.
  8. Much has happened since I last visited. Miller, Ottawa, Moulson all gone. Good, we can now all fully embrace the Yank and subsequent rebuild conversations without all of this it can be done in a couple years nonsense. And that convo should be led by our prospects and future picks. Some decent additions in those catagories, thoughts on potentail moves at the up coming draft for prospects?
  9. You kid yourself if you think we are close to a playoff contention team with "a few moves". Callahan isn't going to help that, and I don't believe for a moment he'd sign with Buffalo given what we are right in the middle of. We have another full season of suck before it begins to take shape in my opinion. And even then it's just taking shape, not forming into a playoff team. 2 seasons away yet is my estimation.
  10. You will eventually end your player love while your fandom evolves into the pure quest for the Cup mindset. I was very sad the day Perreault retired, but time heals all wounds as they say. Along came PLF and Molginy, then on to the Dominator, D/B and so on. When your young you can afford to look at individual players with adoration, as you get older, if a Championship doesn't produce itself, you forget the individual players and start to look at the larger puzzle and what's needed to complete it for the ultimate prize. And I hope for the fans 27 or so and younger you guys and gals don't have to wait as us older fans have. I'd like a Cup before I end up in the ground, it would be nice. Just one of em, just one. It would make a world of difference.
  11. Love that movie, great theme song to...........Burning Bridges and of course, some great scenes from the movie........
  12. What's with all the negative vibes man................
  13. Agreed Eleven. At 43 years old I can tell you when I graduated high school in 88 I joined the navy, there wasn't a whole lot happening up here in WNY job wise. I think due to the exodus that occurred here and continued to occur from the late 70's up to even now, it's actually a bit easier to find work then it was back then with less competition over all. Just my opinion though.
  14. I believe this only to an extent. We are an adaptable species to be sure, but there are limits believe it or not. As for inhabiting beyond this planet, we aren't even close, and that comes with an entirely new set of parameters or dynamics to the conversation. Realizing the lack of gravity in generations due to time in travel to get to other places of similar qualities as Earth will inevitably change the physical make up of a human being. Unless we magically find that elusive Star Trek "warp drive" to eliminate those forces we won't be the same humans. But hey, at least while we travel beyond the planet and those physical changes manifest themselves in those travels the crew can be rest assured those changes will be addressed with reasonably affordable health care :D
  15. It's a real possibility for sure. But then again, it's all cyclical in the larger historical context. Every empire falls. Since the inception of coined or printed money up to the current day. The consensus among the academics is roughly a 250 year ride when averaging out those that have risen and fallen. Some last longer, some not as long. But it is inevitable in my opinion. And that is what we have here today folks, is an empire, and we cannot sustain it without prudent leadership. Something that has lacked for quite a number of years now. Ah yes, Mr. Daniels in this scene does give quite a performance. Award winning is what it should have been for that scene alone because it does sum it up quite nicely.
  16. Assquatch, you have a great sense of humor man. Love it :D Your avatar is sweet to. I pm'd you on your screen name.
  17. Now this funny. But there is some truth to it I just don't believe it applies to this conversation. Social medicine is a need right now. In the past it was a product you purchased, that it's morphed into a quasi government/private sector partnership really shouldn't be surprising. The nation is of such a size and the costs are of such a burden to a sizable portion of that population that something had to be done. I don't doubt President Obama's intentions were good. His heart was in the right place, his brain took a ###### on this one though. There could have been a better system put in place, and there probably will be. I chuckled at this one. But, there is something to be said about the founding of the nation, it's ability to adapt to an ever changing landscape due to the natural forces of growth. The battle will always be about change for society due to circumstances beyond one generations control. People don't tend to like change, but it's getting better on that front. As the conversation moves along it's worth noting that votes by the general populace put the players in power that enact these changes, something that seems to be left out when the conversations turn like this. Still, I did find this comment amusing for other reasons ;) More funny. I like it. For those that don't truly get what sizzle is getting at, it all comes down to the simple phrase, "we covet what we know". Sizzle knows and understands the principles behind the founding of the nation. And here again, health care for as far back as we can remember was not a right, it was a product to be purchased. Those days are gone due to many variables. I do agree it could have been done differently, but health needed to be addressed regardless. To sizzle I point this out: "The right to LIFE, liberty and the pursuit of happiness". This baffles me from you sizzle. The argument, or conversation if you will is not about whether or not healthcare should be nationalized (shared by all) but more about how to approach doing so that allows the entire nation as a whole to benefit from a system that is established. Now while I agree Obama Care is a disaster, I am in no way advocating the subject does not need to be addressed, it does. FDR gave us the "New Deal" where social security, new stiffer banking laws and agriculture laws (research dust bowl 1930's) all culminated in policies that needed to be put in place for the greater good of the larger society. Health care falls into that catagory as well in my opinion in any event. Priceless :D And I understand the humor, just had to comment on it is all. You make 1 good point, then, flub it with an invalid point on the backside. Yes unionization happened because the barons of the day (circa 1900's to 1930's) were abusing the labor force in the name of profits. But don't fool yourself into believing the Federal government is fighting for you. They have been in bed with the barons up to and including this very modern day. What separates their ability to work together is the "voting public". Dam that pesky thing they call the Constitution of the United States of America. If it weren't for that thing government and big business couldn't be stopped with out an all out revolution by the masses as you rightly point out in your second comment. In the end something had to be done on the healthcare side of things. It was, and still is, getting to a point where a good portion of the population cannot use the system that was established because of wealth. There is a great lack of it in this nation since the gutting of the manufacturing base. The real problem has yet to come, and that is how to pay for this. It's not going to be pretty in the years ahead. There is a false feeling from the left that the economy is getting better. There is to much apocalyptic talk from the right. Both positions are wrong, but, as time pushes on, you younger folks are going to see some things that none of us have yet. For programs such as this, you need money from all, not just the young. It will inevitably be a new tax. Not that I mind on that end, but unless this nation learns to balance it's budget and get it's debt to near net 0, we won't have a whole lot of money to spread around to massive programs. Something has to give eventually, let's hope it's not the dollar at the end of the day. For if that were to happen it's a big ###### sandwich and were all going to have to take a bite.
  18. Hutchinson? with a break away goal, 2-1 going into the third Ink, Sylvester mentioned some scouts at this game. Do they have an area they sit in?
  19. No, we need to re-sign most of these guys. The Tank must roll on and Ville shouldn't be bought out, we need him as our Tank Commander :P
  20. I'm just not getting a Health Care Plan. They dropped my original. Feck em I say, I'm not interested in being told what I can and cannot buy.
  21. From what I understand, Coyotes in Arizona want the name changed as well ;)
  22. Power to truth right here. Well said.
  23. Apparently your not reading what I am saying, typical political party hack move. But that dog don't hunt with me. I have stated I'm an independent, I hold no bonds to either the Democrat or Republican party. I hold the highest title in this land, that of citizen, I want, no, I demand my governing leadership to be held accountable. When they are dishonest, I call them out, from any political party. As I stated, for what Bush did in Iraq I want him executed as a war criminal and summarily executed along with his henchmen. No shame in my game.
  24. Correct, the US has never had a government run single payer system for all or a majority of americans, Medicare is the closest thing they have and that covers a portion of Americans, not nearly enough, but look at the cost of that program.
