  1. A flat tax is the way to go. 1913 was such a history changing year. The 16th amendment followed closely by the passage of the Federal Reserve Act in affect, creating the most dangerous agency...,the IRS. Woodrow Wilson himself lamented just how bad this was as he signed it into law. As for intervention in foreign conflicts, we shouldn't get involved. We are not the policemen of the globe nor should we be.
  2. As an independent I holdno loyalties to either side of the aisle, but it's not fear the NRA is peddling, it's called know your rights and the most important aspect of your rights is the defense of them. There are many examples of this. The line of crap your fed in school is just that.....crap. governing bodies, local, county, state and up to and including the federal level look at YOU, the citizen, as a revenue stream primarily. And that's the sad part, Americans aren't even aware on a massive scale that they hold the highest title in the land, that of CITIZEN. There are so many examples of gestopo type behavior by governing agencies in this country its pathetic. Your taught you live in the land of the free, you don't. Americans, for the most part, are ignorant to these facts.
  3. While your pointiest valid you'll have to remind me again why TM wont listen to offers for #2
  4. Interesting, Elmira falls right smack dab in the heart of NY's marcellus shale zone. Locking up the pivotal "up state new York triangle of NG". Oh let the conspiracy theories go deeper down the rabbit hole :P
  5. While I agree the tank won't be intentional, where does TM expect to get what he himself. Said we lacked.......talent. Tank on.........
  6. I firmly believe TM & company pick up Sam Bennett with the 2nd overall. I don't see the Islanders defering the pick, but if by some miracle they do, Dal.Cole please. Interestingly, this coming Rochester season brings in a number of draft picks from seasons past. The chemistry can now start to build with this new core.
  7. Now now, no reason to have a hissy fit. What would your parents think? Let grandma make you a nice cookie and warm milk snack while uncle Terry tells you a bedtime story of how the Sabres built a dynasty......
  8. Did it 10 times. Sabres 8, Oilers 1 and Florida 1 There, now u can all sleep easy :-)
  9. I don't want to convince any one of anything. It's up to each individual to assess any given situation and draw their own conclusions. I just voice my opinion loud and proud is all.
  10. Yes, I can agree with that. When done correctly it can work. But that is not the case here as can be seen across the board.
  11. When you take a piece of the private sector and singularly attempt to half ass socialize it with, in some cases, disastrous results for "THE INDIVIDUAL", yes I would call that tyrannical at best. Just because other countries with much smaller populace numbers with laws in place called "PROTECTIONISM", then I can totally see your point. EDIT: and by the way, the highest title in this land......................? Bueller? Bueller? Anyone? I'll save you the time...... The highest title in this land is that of "CITIZEN"! Know your rights people, and know your place in YOUR SOCIETY. EDIT: and if you think I'm blowing smoke, ask anyone that knows me what I've done to the government at just about all levels when they've come at me. They'll tell you, I don't ###### around, I school them each and every time. It's what you should all do. But I digress, I do not believe in social programs of any type, including public education. I believe in empowering the individual, allowing families stronger bonds through that empowerment as they work together to achieve it. Radical? Sure, in today's day and age, but not so long ago in the past, it was the norm, and it worked.
  12. That's a rather simplistic view of the situation. Take off the blinders, how do you think innovation in these United States was fostered? Socialism? Please enlighten me as to the pin-pointed time in history where tyranny fostered such great strides for the common good? Rome? It could be incorrect (sorry Taro). Hey, I'm a man multi-tasking, we all know how that turns out :P
  13. No way. defer a top 4 pick? Not going to happen. You get a good talent, even in this diluted draft class. They aren't going to look at finishing in the bottom 5 next season. You take the pick, that's common sense. Buffalo will have to wait until 15 and hope the Islanders ######-can the bed next season.
  14. Really? No, I'm serious. Really? You believe any democrat president would be good for a capitolistic society? I find that impossible to believe. In essence, what you are saying, is that socailistic governing is better than self accountability. That's what it comes down to. Oh, and the Oligarchy known as the Republican party is no better. Open your eyes folks, take off the blinders. The 2 party system is a failure and the 2 parties currently hogging all of the governing time, they are garbabe parties, nothing more, nothing less.
  15. But I was always told size doesn't matter .......
  16. Eleven, u make this thread whole. U complete it :-)
  17. I believe your statement on showing signs of improvement shows you have blinders on IMHO. The fact is, the organization is showing more than signs of improvement, especially in their depth and prospect pipelines. Just because the NHL product isn't up to snuff that doesn't mean the plan isn't being implemented. As others have pointed out, were not in cup contention next year, in light of that fact you go for McDavid.
  18. I'd like Bennett, I just learned he played on Connor McDavids wing in midget league :-)
  19. FINALLY! Someone gets it. Thank you kind sir.
  20. I know it sucks. Just my thoughts on the "blueprint", and I'd like to see that route taken to be honest. I've been "suffering" since 70, I'd like them to go all in on attempting a (dare I say it) a Dynasty build I can't see moving pieces on a major scale just to reach pick 8 thru 12 for the 15 draft. That seems counter-productive long-term to me in any event
  21. I believe fully they have written off next season already and TM and staff are targeting 16 as the year to put it all together. Maybe picking up a vet Ufa or 2 this off season but I honestly look to the post15 draft and the subsequent 15 summer Ufa class to put the foundation in place
  22. I believe the consensus is most of our youth will be in Rochester next year. And rightfully so. The idea is to let them build chemistry while also tasting victory at AHL level for their development.
