If Ovie puts up 2 tonight he'll pass Phil Espotsito to be 6th all time scorer in the NHL with 717. After that he's chasing Dionne (731), Hull (741), Jagr (766), Howe (801) and Gretzky (894). I can't believe Gretzky didn't try to play one more season to get an even 900. Slacker.

The prospect of getting a second round pick is just so underwhelming as I review our history of 2nd round picks. Maybe you use that pick in a future trade package?

Raise your hand if you have confidence that our GM, who has zero prior deadline experience will be able to extract market value, or perhaps even flat-out win a trade working against real GMs? Was KA ever around the warroom with JB while he was managing the Jr. Sabres? Come deadline he's going to get desperate and sell low because he's in over his head. My sense is that more embarrassment is forthcoming.

Part of me wants to go just to smuggle in a giant sign that says, "OWNERSHIP DOWN TO PLAYERS: YOU ALL SUCK" but I don't want to pay to do that.

I think the only reason RK is still around is because our GM wants to see how Ralph fares against every team in the division. We scratch off PItt tonight and a week from today play Boston (with 3 other games in between). So a loss tonight, plus those next three, plus a game against Boston would bring this streak up to....14 games? That's when he'll get the axe. It's only logical.

Before the season started I orchestrated bet a friend from Pittsburgh that we'd wager $20 for each game in the regular season series thinking the Sabres would play them evenly and go 4-4, so we'd just pass $20 between our venmo accounts but even out in the end. I feel like Ralph Kruger is now flushing $160 of my money down a broken toilet. Despite that, Sabres might score 9 tonight.

Sometimes you need to sit out a few games to watch from upstairs to really think about your impact on the ice. After 3 games he'll be fine.

It's been so obvious that he's been playing injured. My only guess for them not showing their cards is to maybe not encourage other teams to really lay into him to get him off his game, however, any reasonable scouting staff for other teams would certainly pick up on...so...? I hope this doesn't give Ralph more rope by giving him this excuse.

I believe the word you're looking for is nepotism.

This has been our problem for years. Hall should absolutely be traded (if he wants to resign here next year, great, let's do it). Is it unreasonable to expect a 1st plus a prospect for him?

Stall leads the teams in points for all skaters that aren't on PP1 (Eichel,Hall,Renio,Vo&Dahlin) - so I don't know who else belongs there. I do think Mitts should be playing on that line hoping that he can grow into it. The season is gone at this point - we should be playing the younger kids to get them experience.

If I were making the lines I'd swap Skinner with VO, Mitts with Okposo , Cozens with Sheahan and the last line of Rider-Eakin-Sheahan/Okposo I would only use to kill penalties and not deploy them at even strength. Skinner-Eichel-Reinhart Hall-Staal-Mitts VO-Lazar-Cozens Rieder-Eakin-Sheahan/Okposo
