The prophecy won't be complete until Matt Ellis lifts the cup as the Sabres head coach. -

For me, this is textbook definition of feeling whelmed. Lets see what he can do. -

Dreger: Expects Sabres Head Coach will be hired next week
Mustache of God replied to LGR4GM's topic in The Aud Club
Dreger is 100% paid for his radio appearances. He doesn't show up at the same time every week out of the kindness of his heart. He shows up because they've contracted him for his time for the segment. -

Dreger: Expects Sabres Head Coach will be hired next week

I know nothing about Tocchet, what's wrong with him? -
To me this is just another indictment of just how bad Kruger was as a coach. Clearly Staal was going through the motions because there was no buy-in and no leadership in the locker room.

I don't disagree with this but looking at the roster with the available players, who would you pick (assuming Jack is traded)? I've always read the Eichel situation is that Jack wants to be on a winning team and this organization has been so mismanaged to the point where there's no plan forward (3 coaches and 3 GMs so far). That compounded with the differing opinions on the neck injury have made things worse. I lost a lot of respect for Eichel as captain of the team during his presser where he came out and said something along the lines of, "my number one priority right now is Jack Eichel". That's not the language that should be coming out of your captains mouth.

He had a stretch of 10 points in 11 or 12 games or something like that before he got shut down for the year. This was after like zero points in his first 15-20 games, so , maybe he still has it? Looking over the current roster he's the only player I'd give a letter to at this point. I think having the C would make him push himself as well. The biggest factor for this would be that C will expire in 2 years when his contract is up and you can hand it off to whoever has earned it.

I'd give Okposo the "C" in his last two years and let new leaders develop in that time. By then we'll have a new coach/GM combo and they can give the C to whoever is still around.

If the Sabres have taught me anything about life it is that the concept or "Rock Bottom" is a farce. It can always get worse and they've proven this to me many times throughout this draught. I vote, "Yes", for now... At least with the tank there was a light at the end of a distant tunnel. Each failed season is another twist of the knife in the twilight of RJs career. I'm sure he just wants one more run before he retires. There's always next year. I for one am looking forward to a healthy Girgensons taking up a roster spot, maybe he can play 1C again in Eichels void and rediscover how the Locomotive works. There's a part of me thinks that with Eichel / Reino / Risto / the 1OA pick, a saavy GM can completely rebuild a team with a new identity and making the playoffs next year shouldn't be a stretch. There's a bigger part of me that realizes we have a GM with zero experience whose greatest hiring point was that he's a company "yes" man and I start to see new cracks appear on the rocky ground.

Sabres win lottery: Wednesday June 2nd, 7pm EDT

I have zero feelings towards this draft. My desired outcome is to win the first pick and then trade down. -

How Many 20+ Goal Scorers Will Sabres Have Next Year?
Mustache of God replied to bob_sauve28's topic in The Aud Club
Darkhorse candidate for 21-22. My list is more of a "I hope this happens" and not "I think this will happen" because without hope what's the point of being a fan? -

8. Jack Sam Dahlin VO Cozens Mitts Skinner Okposo -
Chicken Tacos: Chicken Breasts Tortillas Limes Onions Cilantro Salsas / Hot Sauces Peanut/Vegetable/Canola Oil Fill a pot with water and heat to a gentle simmer (OPTIONAL: throw in garlic, onions, celery, or whatever ) Add chicken breasts and gently poach them until the internal temperature hits 140ish degrees. Remove and let cool. Save the liquid for broth - you can cook rice or beans in it if you wish. Shred chicken with a fork and mix with salt, and some of the diced onions and cilantro. If you have a cast iron pot put that on the stove or grill and get it ripping hot. Add a few glugs of oil, let it heat up and then, working in batches as to not overcrowd the pan, fry the dickens out of that chicken. You'll know it's done when it starts to look nice and crispy. Continue frying in batches, adding more oil if it starts to dry out until you've cooked all the chicken. Add tortillas to pan and heat them up, flipping as to not burn them. Fill tortilla with chicken, add some fresh onion/cilantro, a squeeze of lime and douse it in any combination of salsas/hot sauces as you so please. Eat first few tacos hovering over stove/grill - multitasking eating the first few tacos while you are heating more. Think about how bad the Sabres are and cry. Paris well with beer.

Yeah, since they're non-playoff teams it'd be silly to delay all the other playoff teams another week.

	Good call!

I'm trying to, however, I moved back to Buffalo in response to the Covid thing so I'm no longer living in the city, so I'm looking for beer league here.

Winner of the bracket gets to tell Kevyn Adams who to draft this year.
 -
Playoffs start tomorrow. I don't see any bracket thread so I decided to make one for bragging rights here: Link to bracket here: https://bracketchallenge.nhl.com/leagues/30083 I believe submissions need to be in before the puck drop between WSH and PITT tomorrow at 7pm. To keep things easy I'd say create a bracket name with your SS name but whatever.

Well, if they're trading for a legit superstar you're going to have to give up something of equal or greater value in return for us to make the trade. Every team in this league should be lining up for Jack Eichel, and with no NMC this year you can create a bidding war. If Eichel is traded, the return better make me think, "huh, I hate losing Eichel as he's clearly the best player in the deal but the return of X player is exciting and paired with Y Z and AA we may actually be able to make the ***** playoffs". I fully expect this to be bungled but I have hope that maybe we can finally get something right. If Chytil or Miller & Strome is the replacement for Eichel I will literally kill myself*. *won't actually do this.
 -
Given the state of the team the past X years, would this be such a bad thing? The Eichel return SHOULD be massive, I wouldn't accept anything less than Lafrieniere + picks or another prospect/s. My biggest fear is another ROR debacle. You'd be able to get a very good player in return for Sam Reinhart. You'd hopefully be able to get something of value back for RIsto. I think a good GM could trade these 3 and be able to put a good team together with the return.
