  1. "Owner that didn't trust his employees." Yeah.. so that's an unhealthy situation no matter what you do. Anecdotal. I'm not arguing against or for productivity levels. Arguing that people should be more productive is not the same as arguing that people should work longer hours. It's this kind of completely arrogant that is unnecessary in society. If your goal was to be a complete jackass then do it on someone else's dime. Why even enter into a conversation if you are not intending to participate in good faith? No, you just want to spout some stupid uneducated nonsense and be a jerk. I can go on Facebook or read Buffalo News article comments if I want to see that ignorant crap. Grow the up.
  2. Do you or do you have families/friends who work in real estate? That sounds like the real estate broker/agent response I would hear when I worked in the industry.
  3. I don't normally WTF... but seriously... WTF? When I said it had been around a long time I am referring to people like Thomas Jefferson and Leonardo Da Vinci and countless others. Do you even bother to research anything or do you just decide that it fits some tinfoil hat conspiracy theory about control and plug it in? I'll give you credit on one thing, people are so gullible. Gullible in say believing that the sit-stand desk is come American corporate conspiracy action to glue people to their desks and get more work time out of them. Because you clearly have done ZERO research on the subject, I'd like to help you on your way: https://fika-online.com/2017/08/03/lessons-from-denmark-standing-up-to-work/ Enjoy the reading. Please note the bolded text under the first picture referencing Denmark passing a law in 2015 requiring sit-stand desks.
  4. Honestly don't enjoy NBC trying to slip in super fast ads between whistles. Happened last night in the women's SUI vs. SWE game. I almost turned it off for that purpose.
  5. I think the thing you take away from that stat is that on this team, even a few games without its top scorer, they are able to put together that kind of run. You look back and understand that the team has to learn the system and more importantly they have to believe in the system. Jack Eichel finally believed that playing a full 200ft. game would translate into more points and it happened. The team learned how to play with more speed and attack while not getting scorched for goals. All of this equates to a change in mentality that just doesn't happen overnight. Kind of like when the power goes out and you still walk around hitting light switches. You know the power is out, but you haven't unlearned your ingrained thinking that when you enter a room you flip the switch. He's not doing anything different. He's still skating, shooting, passing. It's HOW he's doing it that has changed. :)
  6. For aging veterans with bloated salaries.... yes. I do see it as a prep move by LA more than anything.
  7. The standing concept surely isn’t an American origin nor is it a recent one. Google it.
  8. The real emotion from Shaun White was awesome. From throwing his helmet on the first run to losing it after his last. Given his crash in October and coming back it had to mean the most to him this time. He delivered... big.
  9. Well... it’s something.
  10. Everyone just keep being negative. It’s working. Tonight I was busy watching the game but also the men’s snowboarding finals. No time to post. The team seems to have found another gear. They’ve gained confidence and they certainly look like they understand where they are supposed to be on the ice most of the time. It’s nice to see.
  11. I am not sure I am following any part of this. I keep trying but keep failing.
  12. The required reminder for anyone evaluating the lines... SHOWCASE! That's all you need to think about. I'll be at Section 5 Hockey Playoffs tonight... I might get back in time to turn on the game.. or the Olympics.. or both.
  13. Despite all proclamations, the sky is still where's been for thousands of years Mr. Little.
  14. The picture above nails it. Although my desktop is 72x30. Once I get the wires all cleaned up I will post a picture. :) 4 presets is overkill unless you have more than one person use the desk. In that case it's excellent. I have a Varidesk at work. It sits on the desk. It's nice but they take up so much space and when I am standing up it's annoying to have to constantly reach down to get stuff off the desk. Now it's all at the same height. I haven't sat down yet today. Although, I have broken up the standing by having to run out to a few places so I did sit at times.
  15. Every team goes through bad seasons. Some manage to go longer without going through them and some manage to take less time. Some get lucky. Which Real GMs are you referring to? Any evidence to support the other assertions? I hope your bunker is solid.
  16. He's not a true rental. He's younger. Some goalie coach will believe they can fix him. He's still better than any goaltender the Islanders have on the roster. Compared to the others likely to be available he'll be the best option. Most critically... there are no shoot outs in the playoffs.
  17. I decided to assemble my new desk tonight instead of watch the rest of the game after the first. I am glad I did, even though it sounds like it was entertaining. Got a Jarvis Sit-Stand Desk. Definitely cool so far. I'll be back watching games in no time.
  18. Nope, it’s not okay.
  19. The comment I was replying to was about Kane WANTING to be here. So, if that was the case the his best move is to get traded now and have a shot at the playoffs and come back next season. If he’s all about Kane then his best move his clearly to go to free agency.
  20. I might get some work done tonight after all. Yuck.
  21. Something to be put on a shelf, behind glass, and casually glanced at by museum patrons?
  22. I was referring to the Leafs and Jets trading.
  23. Well.. yes Harrington is an idiot, simply for writing "what fans the Sabres have left". The proper anniversary for the Sabres is to celebrate the 50 years from the day they formed the team and began training camp. So, that would September 2020 and that entire season would be the 50th year of the Sabres. The Sabres existing during the lockout so it's still their 50th year.
  24. Well, if he like Eichel and Reinhart enough he'll come back after he's traded. His absolute best move right now is to be traded, allow the team to get some assets and then re-sign in the off-season. If he's all about the highest bidder or he's eyeing a particular market then there's not much that can be done. I wouldn't give Kane what the UFA market will give him.
  25. This is why we still tolerate you around here. :w00t:
