You must be lucky... DSL is so temperamental as a technology. My Spectrum connection is pretty solid, and it's also why it makes sense for me to have the cable package. But clearly as you are Frontier, streaming is good.. as long as Frontier holds up for you.

Who is your ISP? Frontier, Greenlight, or Spectrum?

So it was Thursday when you got home? No excuses. I often prefer the company of dogs to people. It's terrible news and you have my sympathy on the tough road ahead. Man's best friend for a reason.

Donald J Trump, your thoughts on his Presidency
LTS replied to LGR4GM's topic in The Oval Office (Politics)'s Topics
Well.. the US is embroiled in a political controversy the likes which has never been seen. The brash and public display by the President has led to an equal or greater response by his opponents. In turn, this has led to an escalation of chest thumping by anyone involved with either side. It's brinkmanship and it's downright concerning if not scary about what could happen given the right spark. I'd love to give the benefit of the doubt but as the saying goes, a person is smart, people are stupid. Once the mob mentality gets going it will be hard to stop. -
I suppose I will come across some reference to that op-ed piece eventually. I agree with you 100%. Their actions are only compounding the problem rather than dealing with it.

There is the truth and then there are the workarounds. The truth is, you need to pay for a television service if you live in the Buffalo Sabres market and want to watch games live. There are no legal workarounds to this. An unlocked FireStick is illegal, not that you "unlocked" it. But because you are using an application that acts a search engine for people illegally streaming the content. As you indicated, hit or miss. Usually because those people are getting shutdown by their ISP for illegally streaming content. ? The VPN solution is also against the terms of service. Since most VPN services are well known (at least reputable ones) their output points on the Internet are also well known. It is possible (not saying probable) that NHL.tv could choose to block access from those IPs. This has happened with other streaming services and people attempting to bypass geographical restrictions. Sharing of logins, also against terms of service. I am amazed that MSG doesn't block access to their streaming when the same account is logged in twice from different IP addresses. You run that risk. Even with NHL.tv and VPN you will lose out on nationally broadcast games. The good news is that if you have the basic package from Spectrum you can still get NBCSN (or at least you could last year) because they don't filter it out of their base package (even though it's not included). This is why I opted to add the lowest level of service to my Internet account with them.. it included MSG and NBCSN and cost me 8 more a month. You might be able to swing the same deal. Now I can use MSG>Go as well and watch the games on cable when I am home.

It's a CSS issue. The color you are seeing on the embed is the background color of the site. It appears to be a problem with embedly which is probably a component the forum software uses to embed external sources into the page. The frame is not setting a color and then the actual embed box is setting it's color to transparent. The end result is that you see the background color scheme of the website recreated in the embedly-card box. I don't know the forum software well enough to know if you can inject a custom CSS into the site to override the embedly CSS.

Or it came from something else... could you test positive for eating meat from an animal that was given the drugs? (I'm not suggesting.. just wondering). I'd like to believe him but given every edge athletes try and get you always wonder what "new" thing someone tried and finally got caught.

Ahhh all the promise and hope of a young Sabre wearing #72. At least Lindy Ruff isn't here...

Honestly? I just don't even pay attention anymore. I just assume he says something stupid that insults or offends someone every 3 hours or less. I feel like even pointing out his insanity is giving him more attention than he deserves. I'm resigned now to feelings of disgust with Republicans for putting him forth as a candidate and Democrats for not putting forth anyone who could beat him. You ever watch a commercial that's so awful that you wonder how anyone could have approved it? Then you think, how bad were the other options that THIS was the option they chose to put forward. That's how I feel about this whole situation. -
So, if his skates aren't sharp and he still manages to push his way out of position all the time what do you think would happen if he put an edge on them? He might shoot through the side boards... He's clearly just a beast and doesn't need edges, perhaps his claws provide enough traction?

I'd like to think that he left this world knowing that he was on his way home and that a great friend had helped him along the way and that this provided some level of comfort on his final journey. Remember him well, and he shall live forever.

That joke is only funny with 3.14% of people.

There is no reasonable way Kane was staying with the Sabres. None. There's no indication of ANY possibility of it happening. I don't know why people insist on clinging to this concept. Berglund and Sobotka probably would have ended up in another trade deal somewhere else, unless you think St. Louis was ONLY talking to Buffalo and was willing to say, no ROR? how about some picks and we'll give you these two. Oh, and perhaps those picks are the ones that were used to land Sheary and Skinner? I mean, getting the 1st rounder from St. Louis next year kind of provides protection against the 2nd rounder they gave up for Skinner doesn't it? You are making roster moves and trades in a vacuum.

This didn't get the love it deserved... well done.

The good news is that the sooner there is a new update the sooner the last update stops getting dissected. The problem with the off season is that there's not enough news being created. As such we are left with 52 page threads on the color of some player's beer cooler at a charity golf tournament including pages of advanced stats on whether he used the ice properly in the cooler followed by pages blaming the coach for not having experience with proper ice usage.

Only the good die young.... or so it goes. -
Well, it has been a civil conversation and for that I applaud. Believe me... I have a hard time staying out of this conversation. Let me say this... after 20 minutes of writing and erasing words... The Catholic Church seems to be content to continue adding to its long and storied history of covering up sexual predatory behavior by its clergy. Knowing that in almost all cases what is reported is only a fraction of what actually happens (regarding pretty much any crime) it only makes the situation worse. Given its lack of real action regarding these matters the discussion, for me, starts with whether it should continue to be recognized as a legal religious entity within the United States and if the entire leadership should be indicted for its complicit behavior and response to abuse by its leadership. The school presidents of both Michigan State and Penn State were forced to resign in the midst of child sexual abuse that occurred while they were in charge of the organization. The CEO of Uber was forced to resign due to sexual harassment. However, when it comes to the Catholic Church people seem content to debate "who knew what" despite the fact that the amount of abuse perpetrated by the clergy of the Catholic Church dwarfs that of Larry Nassar and Jerry Sandusky combined. So... I guess I just jumped into the pool.

He's a child. It's really that simple. He acts like a spoiled child. If Veruca Salt were a male, it would be Donald Trump. Although Donald is orange and not blue. -
The only thing I like about football is that it keeps enough people indoors that I can visit places without it being overcrowded. Thank you football!

The key to all of this is that we are discussing the competition for spots that was part of Botterill's plan. Even if the competition today is in the bottom 6, it's still better than some players making the team without even trying. This is good.
-
Yeah.. sounds about right. I'm going to stay out of this conversation... I find religious discussions to be infinitely more difficult to navigate compared to political.

https://www.cnn.com/2018/08/25/politics/john-mccain-obituary/index.html Regardless of the politician he was, he did serve his country and he was a POW. That gets my respect. Tough to think about his decision making process in stopping treatment knowing that the end was near. He clearly was a guy who didn't give up easily.
