    Eye. To. Eye.
  2. I am mildly proud that tank fruit has stuck. That is all.
  3. And noone lamented Paul Byron being traded away.
  4. This line of reasoning works because the rebuild was inseparable from the tank. 7yrs later its still linked. We had a tank so thorough, so unprecedented, that 7 yrs into it we are still in suffering. Jack is 24 and this team has still not recovered from the means that were used to acquire him. And Sam is a year older. 7 years is basically a pro athlete generation. Normal rebuilds are expected to take less time.
  5. The only family I vacation with is wife and kids. I need my own space, pace, and activities if I am going to really wind down.

Well, this exchange started because you said Chicago was gambling with a lack of info, not with a likelihood that he'd have to defect or the USSR would need to collapse 8 years later for the team to ever see him in person.

It didn't go up for many years after. Mogilny was drafted 5 years later and still needed to defect. Hasek wasn't drafted earlier because scouting. He was drafted so late because it was throwing away a pick for a low chance shot.
  8. NFW The gutting of that team was unprecedented. It was a rebuild to an extent never before done. Lesser guttings (Pittsburgh for Mario for example) took the better part of a decade to show fruit. The idea that we could do what has never been done before in 3 years is nuts.

I think Taro has it more right. Noone exected a bunch of Soviet block players to defect. The picks were serious gambles.
  10. Call the trade. It would be your Roy for Ott moment.
  11. Did you not expect drama to be part of the message?
  12. Well, one certainly dictated the other. Those of us that can’t separate the two recognized that the thoroughness of step 1 required an unlikely level of success in step 2.
  13. I will be sorely disappointed if the main event piece is a draft pick.
  14. You’re doing God’s work, Thorny. And LOL at my iphone attempting to autocorrect God with Hodgson.
  15. The only concern I have at this point is fully opening with less than heard immunity increases the likelihood of a resistant variant. But yeah, I'm out in public with 0 stress now.
  16. We have the whole famn damily coming Sunday, and customer visit at work Monday. It just won't work.
  17. They are a bucket list band for me. But too many obstacles for me to do this on Sunday.
  18. He’s saying Granato is American.
  19. What was your previous screen name?
  20. So, you don’t see a package that could be made from the roster that went to the finals last year and is a presumptive favorite again this year? A proven high level playoff performing roster just doesn’t have the pieces to be a value for Jack Eichel. I think its more likely that Vegas wouldn’t want to screw up a team full of playoff gamers to get a flashy guy that hasn’t shown himself to be a gamer yet. Lets see what Seattle ends up with before saying there is nothing there.
  21. I stand firm in my observation. AKA you’re doing it again!
  22. I need to see a hockey trade here, not a picks and prospects trade. This team will be getting much too young.
  23. It’s weird how you have unbridled optimism for kids who have done nothing yet and unbridled pessimism for a management team who have done nothing yet.
  24. What assets did Vegas have after their draft?
