  1. I posted the numbers for you already. Neither Col nor Car left so many kids with so few vets.
  2. Repeating ad nauseum, we support more young players with fewer veteran players than any other team in the league. And we keep doing it.
  3. I love the way international communities are rallying.
  4. And Chicago was an outlier. You can’t plan to succeed with an outlier strategy
  5. We absolutely do lack vets. Look at the number of vets on the other teams. We have less than 1 vet for every one player under 25. No other team in the league supports as many kids with so few vets. And absolutely, 100% agree, at least half the vets we do have are the wrong ones. I addressed that in my comment about Eakin, Butcher, and the goalies.
  6. My thought was, he wanted to scare Ukraine into bargaining away their full independence for a promise of not occupying. I don't think he expected Ukraine to still be calling that bluff today. I also think at some point it will no longer be a bluff. Then we'll see the real Russian military capability on display. I hope for Ukraine's sake that I am wrong about that.
  7. This is not trivial. We do not have much for veteran support with a full roster. Pull 3 of them off the roster and veteran support is laughable.
  8. I've argued in the past that the last thing we need to do is put more kids in the lineup. We are not giving the kids we have enough veteran leadership. The4 last last thing we need to do is skew the kids-to-vet ratio any more than it is already skewed. I decided to compare the rosters of all of last seasons playoff teams to our roster this year to get a feel for how well distributed age is in a playoff roster. The thing that stuck out to me was, compared to those playoff teams we have the 3rd most kids under 25 on the roster and have the fewest 27yrs+ vets on the roster. Of those 27yr old+ vets we have Anderson, Butcher, Dell, Eakin, and Tokarski. So 5 of our 11 vets are barely NHL players. There isn't a single team in the league that supports so many young players with so few good veterans. And we want to put more kids in the lineup? It's not a recipe for success.
  9. Medication?
  10. What they haven’t realized yet is, they’ve now had their Rapture and they didn’t measure up.
  11. I really want this to be true.
  12. Get well, Swamp. Had to be scary. Need to hear you on bass again soon.
  13. We don’t have any goalies to come on strong until they actually come on strong. If it takes a 3-4yr contract to get a real goalie, do it. They are a valuable commodity that can readily get moved if needed.
  14. How does suspending Alex Ovechikin change that, or affect it in any way? The only people affected by suspending Ovie is Ovie.
  15. His contract was never an actual problem. He never prevented us from improving the roster and he always provided benefit to the team whether he wasn’t getting points or not. Those things matter waaayyyyyy more than Terry’s pocket change.
  16. You agree that players should be suspended based on country of origin? Now that is a real infringement on actual liberties.
  17. Hard for me to have confidence in what the team will do next year when we have no idea if the team plans to take winning seriously any time soon.
  18. Yeah, anyone relying on R2 to be a functional improvement is setting themselves up for disappointment.
  19. I think it’s rather obvious that this trio is the sacrificial lamb trio. They don’t want kids getting caved in. The kids that could be rolling on the 4th line are better off in Rochester getting meaningful minutes in meaningful roles.
  20. I actually prefer the Headstones’ version.
  21. I’d do it. I’d probably do it for a 2nd. A proven NHL calibre RHD with a cap hit we can work with, relatively short term left? I’d trade a 25-30% chance at that replacement in 3-5 years in a heartbeat. Lets go win some games.
