  1. Tyson Barrie is a good player but he’s a FA next year is he not? I can see him looking to play in Vancouver, close to home. We could trade him for 55 and go from there I guess but that’s highly unlikely. Interesting times ahead I’m sure. I think JBot does something soon though.
  2. Good points made. I agree we are in trouble. Jack, I believe, can be a top 10 player but he needs to take the whole ice rink seriously. Too many bad defensive zone coverages. He’s got to play all 3 zones. The team isn’t good enough for him to be a fly by kinda defender. I don’t want to lose the core offensive guys but 55 needs a change of scenery. Hell, get Big Z back from Colorado. The bottom 6 is a huge concern for me. Look at Vegas. All 4 lines can play. Ours, not so much. I’m at a loss but something needs changing. ZG can go too. I’m rambling but something needs to give.
  3. I think some names do need to move and Samson may be the name that has to go along with 55 and no joke, maybe Jack is the one to go. He’d fetch multiple top players. Something has to change.
  4. Bottom line is, this team still isn’t very good. They may be better but marginally. Time for a shakeup. Some big names need to move around.
  5. Revisiting this thread. Team stops 6 game losing streak. That’s good but honestly I wasn’t impressed with them against a tired Ottawa team. If not for Jack they lose another one. I need to see Jack play like this 90% of the time, not 60-70 (not suggesting he scored four a game). I need to see 55 traded. I need to see 21 waived. I need to see more from the bottom 6. I think Lazar needs a serious look. I need to see the losing stop at 3 games not 6. It won’t get them into the playoffs. We all know that. I believe they are a better team with a far superior coach but it still needs tweaking.
  6. Time to go in any way shape or form Risto Okposo Rodrigues Sheary Lazar needs a chance. He will give effort much more than above mentioned
  7. Have to see how team reacts to adversity. Will they let a tough loss turn into a 10 game slide? Will they find ways to steal points? great start but little things like letting Florida tie game and make it a 3 pt game are the type of games where that point could very well matter later on.
  8. Jack cannot be that soft on the puck, expectation in his own end, 3-3. Awful effort. Ullmark Gabe then the point. Big picture 5 out of 6 so can’t be too unhappy. But they had a chance to steal both points. A shame.
  9. A rare game on tv here in kelowna (free preview) and what an enjoyable performance. let us hope this type of effort is given more often than not. Nice win. Some nice goals. Jack looks like he may take it to another level and so he should! He needs to show Mcdavid that he’s right there and not so far off his game. Shout out to VO, Sammy, Defense corps
  10. I know Curtis Lazar from working out at same gym when I was rehabbing. Nice kid. I wish him well. How’s he looked? Will he make the team?
  11. This team really is gonna struggle if their goalies let in softies. Too tight a league to allow goals from behind net cuz of cheating. it will be a long season if we don’t get stellar tending
  12. Mogilny better get in. I’m sick of this bs with him not in. He paved the way for all Russians. His numbers are obviously worthy. If not for injury he would’ve been first to 1000 pats before Federov. He’s even said it. Also absolutely deserves to be in the HOF
  13. Once again time for a new voice. the 10 game win streak was fun though. Can’t believe we are 51 points behind Tampa now. Enjoy the summer
  14. ROR needed to go. There has been many rumors about him being a bad teammate. He’s clearly a good player but he wanted to be the man, like another said earlier, and this team isn’t his, it’s Jack’s. you always hope the return is better but it’s done. The Blues are on fire right now but it’s gonna be too little too late.
  15. That’s what I meant. Getting a player of equal quality to make a cultural change so to speak.
  16. Not sure if this has been floated but is it time to move on from Samson?
  17. I think it’s time for a change behind the bench. PH is a good guy but I don’t think he commands the respect from his players and therefore he must go. Ruff? Quenville? Its also time to make some moves. This team just isn’t good enough. The 10 game streak was awesome but they won 9 one goal games and 7 after 60 minutes. It was a lucky ride but they’re still flawed.
  18. I believe JB has to pull the trigger on some kind of deal. Possibly something under the radar will help but I think it may be time to try and move a player like Sam. I think a big move may be the play here. I don't get to watch many games so I'll leave it to the experts who watch them regularly, but what is it we need most? Defense? Offence? Both? What is realistic? The team is now out of the playoffs and this west coast trip could bury them if they don't pick up points. We all know it's not how many points out you are, per se, it's how many teams you have to leap frog. The NHL and its sometimes 3 point games make it that much more difficult to get in when there are too many teams between you and the last playoff spot.
  19. Jeff Skinner, how much money you want to stay? Here it is, no problem. Nice to see the Sabres on TV in BC I recorded it and saw they blew a 2 zip ead so I decided to go live and boom, goal! Good teams find ways to win. This team is playing well enough to win and that’s all that matters. will they make the playoffs? Who knows but this is fun and I like it!
  20. Confidence! It’s a beautiful thing.
  21. Well well well. It’s been awhile for me here but I wanted to say WOW! This is more like it! on a side note, my wife informed me she accidentally threw out my Sabres to win the Cup bet I made in Vegas before season started. $10 at 35-1. sigh
  22. Well, there go the playoffs ????
  23. I’m glad this turned into a good discussion. As I said in the middle of this thread, I know I can’t switch teams. I want a Sabres Cup but I’m on the wrong side of 50 now so I’m not optimistic. I found it interesting that another poster said if Buffalo relocated he wouldn’t cheer for them any longer. I am a LA Rams fan and hated when they moved but I stayed with them and was delighted when they won the Super Bowl in St Louis. They were still the Rams. But I would love it if they won in LA for sure. But that 99 win was awesome as those helmets were still the same. I guess if I start rooting for Vegas would they be able to pass the Canucks in my pecking order? I will say this. I want Buffalo to win 82 games and the Canucks 80. Whenever I’ve gone to a game between the cousins I always get up in my Sabres swag and HATE the Canucks on the night. Thanks for all the kind words regarding my wife.
  24. I appreciate the responses. I know I can’t switch because how could you not be happy if they ever won it all? Of course you would be happy. But with the Canucks being awful too, I do find myself pulling for the Knights. I couldn’t believe how many people had VK gear on the flight back to BC. A crazy amount. We have a trip there in Feb and they do have a home game when we are there. Still haven’t decided if we are gonna go or not though. But I’m still a Sabres fan even though they suck. Glad as I’ve gotten older that I don’t let sports ruin my day anymore.
  25. Ok, Been awhile since I posted but I've been thinking about this for a little bit and wondered what others here may think. I've been a fan of the Sabres for 42 years. I've never been to Buffalo to see a game live, only seeing them play in Vancouver many times. But with the current state of this team, actually the ongoing state of this team, I've actually "considered" jumping ship and cheering for the Vegas Knights. The reason is not because they are the Cinderella story of the season, but because my wife and I go to Vegas 3 or 4 times a year. She has a progressive neurological disorder that affects her lower extremities, so we've been doing more traveling while we know she can. I digress. We feel like Vegas is our home away from home and enjoy our time there. And with them having a team, it kinda' feels like we should cheer for them. So how realistic is it to think one could switch teams after such a long time? Not because of their records, but because of the reasons stated? Is it really possible to think one could not care anymore about "their team" and move on to another? What happens if years go by and the Sabres ACTUALLY win the Cup? Would it mean anything after switching allegiances? I know I've thought about just ripping the Sabres off like a bandaid and cheering for Vegas and live with the decision, but I don't really know if it's realistic to think it could be done emotionally. Thoughts?
