Jack’s issue shouldn’t have been with the fans who cheered him for 6 years. His reaction to scoring the other night was sadly what I expected. No class. I can name so many players who went back home and weren’t ***** like he is. The trade works for both teams and I’m glad it’s over. But never mistake Jack for being anything but a dick as a human being. He’s just an unlikeable guy. I’ll take Tuch every time even when he doesn’t play well.

Bruins have won something like 17 of last 18 against us, and I don’t expect a different result tonight. Hopefully after this brutal stretch we get our injured defenseman back and we start fighting the ship.

I think this team is finally heading ⬆️ and it’s going to have some pains along the way. I could care less about Jack and his big night the other day, we’re better off wo him. Reinhart (2-3-5) we’re hopefully gonna get Levi signed and Kulich will turn out nicely, we’re better off there too. Future is bright. It sucks we are in the division we are in so playoffs still look a ways away. But I’m finally at the point where I’m starting to care again. Buffalo will have its day soon. The Vegas game hurt but it was bound to happen. side note, we need our defense injuries to end and we need better goaltending. Offense is fine.

As I’ve said before, a former Sabre intimated to me, without saying it ( I said it), tha Sam wasn’t a great team guy. The fact those 3 core guys are gone and now this team loves each other, shows me GMKA made the right decisions to make those trades. As he said, he wants guys who WANT to be Sabres. Sam didn’t want to be a Sabre anymore. Onwards and upwards. The culture is shifting and the future is looking brighter. Love it!

Vegas can feel however they like but they lost this trade and they’re really going to have to work a lot of magic to keep being a contender.

Tage isn’t a better player but he is what the Sabres need. Guys on the Sabres don’t get to demand the ice time Jack got. Tage is a team player. Going forward I doubt he outscores Jack but his attitude and team first mentality make him a better player for the Sabres. Points aren’t the only measure here. The team is happy and there seem to be no cliques. So while it may suck losing Sam, or Jack for some, for me it was what needed to be done. GMKA is 100 % right when saying he wants players who want to be there. Clearly, this team has players who want to be there. And I’ll say this, I love Alex Tuch! Another 89 who is my fave Sabre!

A friend of mine can’t get over how badly Jack was treated by Buffalo, bla bla bla. I had to point out today that Jack has a career high 36 goals. Same as Tage! I showed him a clip of how excited these guys are - and how Tuch is what Jack isn’t. He then said let’s see how good Jack is with stone and patcioretty. I said, Tage is doing it with a skinner and Tuch. That line, even with Skinners overpriced contract, is about 12 million less than the Vegas line. My point to all this. We are way better off without Jack and I’m happy with the direction of this club.

The Winnipeg trade, I believe, 100% contributed to the free fall of this organization. Jack gravitated to those bad apples, not the Cup winning captain. That’s on GMTM. He didn’t build the club around Jack with quality PEOPLE. Going forward, GMKA must surround Owen Power and their young group with proven good people and good talent. That will be the trick. As for the podcast today, I enjoyed the honesty from the hosts and for Gionta not talking smack about Jack, choosing his words or lack there of wisely.

Dahlin’s terrible defense concerns me. I’m ok with slow progress but he seems to be regressing

As I have said in the past I have spoken to a former Sabre directly who implied that Reino, Sam and Jack weren’t great dudes. Jack however, liked this ex Sabre a lot, so the comment on Jack was “he just wants to win” He said nothing other than that and nothing about other two players. My comment to him was that they were all cancers. His silence spoke volumes. Recently I was in touch with him again and he said he’s happy where he is now, but also happy that the “new core” is steering the team in the right direction, and he was happy they seem to be on the rise (albeit slowly-my opinion) So the Gionta comments seem to carry a lot of weight. Aside from this, all three needed to go and I for one am happy they are. When this team becomes a playoff team, Alex Tuch will be in his glory because he is built for playoff hockey. Yes it’s aways away, but it’s coming and Adams needs to make good decisions going ahead. Dahlin? I’m very concerned about him.

Vegas is really gambling, I know I know, they this pans out because they are going to have to move others off their roster when guys come back of ltir. They really need to try and stay in the hunt this year, and if they do and guys come back from injury, they could be golden (see what I did there) If not, they need Jack healthy to start next year to make their run, but they’re prospects pool is weak and adding him may make them have to move on from some other cheaper, team guys. Alex Tuch is a beauty and he’s built for the playoffs. He’s excelled in the playoffs and he’s a welcome addition. About to research Krebs. I’m happy with this. Although now Jack is on my “side piece team” and that means he’s still in my life lol. Still a big risk for Vegas imo. Glad Jack is gone though.
