If you disagree with anything I posted, quote the post and make a counter argument. Let's discuss it.
-
Fair enough. Let's agree to disagree on the rest and move on.
-
Do you at least agree that sexism didn't play a role in this particular match?
-
It seemed related. Fine, I'll delete it.

LTS, I didn't forget about you. A reply to this requires a larger block of time than I currently have, but I'll get to it. I appreciate you engaging me on this and enjoy the conversation. -
Let's tie a bow around this and move past it. We agree that Serena was out played, acted unprofessionally during the match and in the post match press conference, and cried sexism when it didn't occur? Yes?
-
The rest of your post that you didn't bold makes my point. You're off your game today.
-
Of course not. You're pissed that your girl lost and your looking for anyone to blame but her, even in the face of irrefutable logic and reason, typical fanatic.
-
You said the man had an agenda. That's what I was referring to when I said "trashing the man's reputation", I could have been more clear. You also said giving giving her an infraction was BS because you've see many players (men) do far worse. You implied sexism even if you didn't use the word. You implied it another time or two. Him giving her an infraction for arguing is actually in line with how he umpires a match, men or women.
-
Because Serena and many media members are crying sexism.
-
No where did I accuse you of claiming Ramos was sexist. Do you agree that what happened in that match had nothing to do with sexism?
-
I misspelled a word? Oh my, my self esteem is crushed. I read your posts. I quoted your posts. I commented on your posts. My reading comprehension is fine.

You linked a cnn schill pushing a social justice agenda to get clicks. The infractions he called we're indisputable, they're in the rule book. Bitching about them equates to complaining about getting a speeding ticket when "everybody else speeds". He had no discretion with handing out the penalties, that's indisputable. Can a ref throw a flag for a personal foul and say "well, he didn't hit the QBs head that hard, he just kinda brushed the top of his head as he was passing by so I'm only giving five yards instead of fifteen"? No, he can not. And the penalties for a second and third infraction are spelled out in tennis. He had no discretion. No, it's never happened before. No other player, man or woman, in the history of tennis, have ever been stupid enough to receive a third infraction in the same match! You can site all the examples you want from the 80s and 90s. They aren't relevant. Do you see John Mcenroe type blowups today? In the last five years? Is it possible that tennis, like every other form of society, is evolving? This was not the sexism teet to suckle on, it didn't happen. The infractions he gave to Serena he's given to male superstars. Maybe you just can't see clearly through your Serena tinted glasses. She lost her schit as she was getting her ass kicked as she's prone to do, that's all that happened here. If anything, the umpire DIDN'T treat her differently because she's a woman. No, you're not ignorant, you're making an educated decision to be obtuse, and that's worse. Again, shame on you.

Carlos Ramos is the best umpire in the game. hes one of the very few Gold badge umpires. He's chaired seven grand slam finals, for both men and women, and the Olympic finals. He's the only current gold badge umpire to chair each of the four slams. He's also known as a hard ass. He's given similar conduct violations to numerous men, including Andy Murray (at the Olympics for calling him stupid) and Djokovic twice (17 at the French open for yelling at him, 18 for smashing his racket). He gave her a warning for a coaching violation. That's it. Just a warning. Her coach, by the way, ADMITTED he was trying to coach her. She received a second violation for smashing her racket, something Ramos has given men violations for. Her third violation was for verbally abusing him, something else he's given men violations for. The fact is, while being the greatest women's player of all time she's a poor loser who once told a line judge she was going to cram a ball down thier f*cking throat for calling a line violation on her. She acted horrible and took the attention from the woman who rightly deserved it by whooping her ass. I believe 100% that sexism exists in tennis. But yesterday, with Ramos, was not an example of it. Do some research before jumping on the sexism train and trashing the man's reputation. Shame on you.

I hope you're wrong. Nobody in my circles cares where you eat or what you where. To be honest, we never talk about, nor much care about, politics. The only place I ever discuss politics is on these message boards. My sister's and I don't even know who each other voted for. I don't know. Maybe we are just blissfully ignorant. It works for us.

When I said you were flat out wrong I didn't mean to imply that your views are wrong and my views are right. I respect that your views are different, I'm happy to discuss them, and I'm not hard headed to the point where I can't be persuaded. What I meant was you were wrong about the bolded not belonging in the post, because the bolded was my views, and the post was about my views, therefore it belongs. -

I'm singling out men because men and their uncomfortableness are the subject of my post. I don't understand your question. Are you asking me why I didn't include women? I'm sure you would agree that we all have our own thoughts and ideas on what a man is and what a man should be. These thoughts and ideas are ingrained in us through upbringing, family, environment, education and personal experience. I'm thankful to we've for explaining his views on the subject. We have been posting here together for well over a decade and I believe him to be sincere. I also believe he is in the minority. A very small minority. I believe most men feel uncomfortable for the reasons I stated above. As to your reference of the bolded: your flat out wrong. It does have a place. Those type of men should be too embarrassed to make thier feelings public. I don't care if it's not nice. I don't care if it's not politically correct. I don't care if you don't like it. -

I think I have a better understanding of where you're coming from, thank you for explaining that too me. I've never felt like a pawn. I think that's a bigger topic for a different thread. I'd love to discuss it with you if you're willing. I can't today, I'm getting the grandkids today. But soon? -
I was shocked to see how big he is. I knew nothing about him. And those hands! Holy schit am I excited about this kid.

Jalen Ramsey thinks he could play in the NHL with 6 months training
Hank replied to PromoTheRobot's topic in The Aud Club
You're right, I'm failing to see the nuance. Maybe that failure is on me. But most of us on here don't live in the buffalo area, let alone Boston. We are spread out all over the world. I for instance live in Tennessee. Pointing out the peculiarity of a small Boston neighborhood using a word as racist slang when that word is very appropriate given in the context it was to a group of people who have no need/use/relevance of a Boston neighborhood peculiarity comes across as more than just trying to educate on what's up to date. -

Hank replied to PromoTheRobot's topic in The Aud Club
Was Eichels use of the word ignorant not accurate? Is Jalen Ramsey not in fact ignorant about what it takes to be a hockey player? We you try to find racism in everything, it deminishes cases of actual racism. -

Huh! I had no idea. I am quite ignorant about Nascar apparently. -
I believe it was entirely based on his disapproval of Matthews unconventional path to the draft. He's supposed to get lazy and fall off a cliff after he signs his big contract.
