  1. Would anyone be interested in taking a flyer on Brandon Saad, had his worst year of his career last year but is still younger than ROR and can play LW. Plus he has 2 cup rings. I did Bailey and Beaulieu for Saad since we take on 3x6mil but I'm really unsure of his value at this time.
  2. I love Ehlers but no, that retention makes it dead on arrival.
  3. For starters, Pronger, Clarkson and Datsyuk were either on LTIR or whatever Arizona did to save their roster spot with Datsyuk. This allowed the team picking up the contract to not have to worry about roster space and rather merely the temporary cap implications. Moulson and Bogo aren't in either category, their cap isn't going to be able to be made disappear. The Pronger trade to Arizona was the least costly as Pronger's 1 mil in total salary over 2 years, with a 4+ mil cap hit, was useful to Arizona's cheap owner. Additionally they sent away Sam Gagner;s contract which they had been tempted to buyout, and received Nicklas Grossmann for a conditional 4th/3rd. The Clarkson trades are on the opposite end of the spectrum as both trades had more of an impact. First Toronto sent him to CBJ for Nathan Horton (LTIR Guy) meaning while they gave themselves potential cap space, they would still need to get under the cap at the season's start. The second trade was CBJ with Vegas, and they gave up a 2017 1st and a 2019 2nd. However, he too is now an LTIR member. Lastly we have Datsyuk's awkward departure in which had a strangely interesting result as Detroit somehow received another pick in the trade while moving down 4 spots. That being said Arizona got the best player of the draft picks..... Bogosian actually has a higher salary than his cap hit thus Arizona would be unlikely to be interested in him while Moulson has 1 year left on his contract an would be a waste to spend assets to remove 4 mil when we really don't need it.
  4. To be honest, I’m not fond of what he has said to us. 1. He’s going after us Sabres fans for being sour over the Golden Knights. 2. His put downs on the Sabres franchise, while partially true, came off as we were the idiots for staying loyal to the Sabres and that somehow we had a part in that.
  5. I kept an eye on it but besides ROR, none of our big named players are in it and the US never gets far in the tournament anyway. This year they only lost once in the early games, but then get bludgeoned by Sweden without as much as a peep from the US team aside from Kane.... Congrats Sweden, kick Canada's ass!
  6. Slavin - Interested Pesce - Interested Haniifin - Interested Faulk - Not really
  7. Haven’t we played in 3 of the last four now?
  8. Anaheim was forced to protect Bieksa, he has a NMC which I guess he wouldn’t waive.
  9. Randall here's my Risto proposal Risto + 2019 3rd to EDM for Klefbom, #10, and Yamamoto then Nylander and #10 to CAR for Pesce and a 2019 4th Beaulieu for Orpik and Grubauer's rights Scandella - Pesce Klefbom - Dahlin McCabe - Bogosian Orpik - Nelson Guhle is 1st call up as we all know Bogo won't play more than 40 games anyway. Is Pesce any good? I know you love Slavin but I can't see them trading him and he's a lefty too.
  10. I just don't see the value in trading one of the few RHDs who shoots right for another left LHD. without us also getting Yamamoto and 10. Otherwise all we are doing is downgrading our production, upping D play, but leaving us with only the often injured Bogosian and young Nelson as a rightys
  11. The bare minimum for Risto to EDM for me would be Yamamoto, Klefbom, and #10 for Risto and our 4th. The biggest problem wit trading Risto is the lack of grit and ice munching we'd have on the back end.
  12. And again, if he trades Risto; Botterill better get a king's ransom and then some. Not prospects or picks but Taylor Hall-esc, so not RNH.
  13. I don't see that, he'd be rather dumb to do so and I just don't see Botts being that stupid barring Chia handing over the equivalent of his 1st born
  14. I'm not trading any of our core unless the trade makes us blatantly better. I'm not trading Risto for anything short of Draisital on EDM. I'm not taking pieces or cap dumps or picks, they either give us a player of similar importance or I'm keeping our young defenseman. I know you dislike Risto, but that doesn't mean we need to trade him.
  15. Throws lower....
  16. Unless we trade 32 for a young NHL player, I'm not trading it. I wonder if they'd be interested in Nylander for Skinner in some manner.
  17. I want Vanek back for a year. He may not be real speedy but the guy can still score. I’d just put him on the 3rd line with Middelstadt and the 2nd PP
  18. Even if he's Eichel we seem slated to get the McDavid of the draft.....
  19. Buffalo broke Rinne in our 2nd game against Nashville; remember he hadn't been pulled for almost a year and a half until that game. In the playoffs he was pulled 5 or 6 times. :)
  20. As good as Holtby might be he’s not worth a recent Top 10 1st rounder and the 32nd Pick to me.
  21. No problem, I had thought on a similar train of thought in order to acquire Grubauer
  22. I mentioned this idea about 2 weeks ago :)
  23. Hasek, I grew up watching him steal games in the late 90's Drury/Briere Loved both of them as this two headed beast who destroyed all in their wake
  24. The problem is there aren't many wingers out there...... either they'd require to many assets or they are one dimensional. I liked my McCabe for Yamamoto deal seeing as I could really see Edmonton biting on that and he's a solid winger prospect. Vanek is a 1 year guy who has spurts of speed and still scores Wilson is a solid bottom 6 winger ERod I really want to see with Eichel as for RW Okposo should bounce back this year to some degree Reinhart (2nd Half) would be our best winger Baptiste, speedy who has scoring potential Pominville & Hendricks, vet presence who sit on the bottom line or in the suites Bailey, extra fast guy
  25. To be honest while Seabrook is cooked, I think Keith may still have a little left in the tank due to how he plays the game. Place him next to Dahlin and I'd bet he'll look like he did a couple years ago. Not to mention his resume is worth the contract, 2 Norris, a Conn Smythe and 3 Cups where he had an instrumental part of winning them. He's reliable health wise and aside from this year he was still a solid Dman. And this year he was playing the Ristolainen role on a defense that has been stripped of most of its overall talent.
