GDT - Saturday, January 18th, 2020 - Sabres @ Predators, 8pm ET (WGR/MSG)
thewookie1 replied to LTS's topic in The Aud Club
We should of had a powerplay for the last 35 to 55 secs seeing as Eichel was hooked, held, and slashed at least 3 or 4 times. Can we please send Bogosian to Rochester. If Boston can waive Backes then we can waive Bogosian. I'm sick of watching him just give the puck away every other time he's handling the puck. -
GDT Sunday January 12th Sabres at Detroit 5pm MSG, WGR

I still see no point in going after the owner; he's done a lot of good for the area. He's far from perfect but I'll never understand the sheer anger pointed to our ownership. -
No, I refuse to help the Leafs become better in any sense of the word
-
As a hypothetical, if SJS asked you for Mitts and 2 2nds for Couture would you do it?
-
I think Erod is traded and Wilson is the 1st sent down. Lazar and Asplund will eventually alternate in where needed
-
If Housley were still here I'd be all for it, but seeing as our present coach has been here for merely 43 games I'm not interested. If this were 2 years from now with ok results I'd say hey Ralph, would you like a role as Hockey Czar with a raise; we'd like to bring in this successful coach to take us to another level but we earnestly believe we still need you here to truly make that happen.

Trade: Calgary Michael Frolik to Buffalo for a 4th
thewookie1 replied to Brawndo's topic in The Aud Club
They told us there was a problem and that he wouldn't get here until sometime this week. Maybe the Czech government is off due to the holidays -
Had he not caught the ball it would be considered a dead ball as we've seen all year. However he caught it in the air thus meaning the ball was live. I've heard that it shouldn't of been a touchdown but rather a safety with it being Bills ball after the punt off.

I'm trading Erod for a 4th and Bogo for Simmonds if at all possible. Then I'd sign Pommers to a league minimum contract with the understanding he may not be in the lineup much once Skinner and Olafsson return At this point I'm just looking for any kind of spark to keep this team alive through those injuries.
-
Olofsson Out 5 to 6 Weeks with a Lower Body Injury.

I just hope he doesn't lose what he's been building all year. Why can't we have nice things? -
Curse of his visits to Buffalo

Marco Scandella Traded to Montreal for a 2020 4th Round Pick
thewookie1 replied to Brawndo's topic in The Aud Club
I wish the guy luck, not enough to beat us in anything, but for his life in general. -
I want a player who exclusively scores that way
-
How are McDavid's stats against Colorado? I'm curious if McDavid has a general problem against the only two other 1Cs who could actually keep pace with him. It would certainly make sense.
-
Eichel and McDavid are both incredible players and we won so I'm happy. Hope Olafsson is ok McDavid is the more consistent better player but I'd be lying if I said Eichel has never, for a game or two, surpassed him. McDavid is a true generational talent. Eichel is probably borderline generational seeing as he has the ability to literally carry our team to some amount of relevance.

EDIT Bogosian Requests Trade, Now EROD wants One As Well

Trade Erod for Jankowski and Bogo for Simmonds? -
Specifically what kind of cheeses?
-
How's this? Zajac, Travis ($2,850,000 retained) Simmonds, Wayne ($1,000,000 retained) Wood, Miles for Bogosian, Zach Rodrigues, Evan 2020 4th round pick (BUF)

I'm speechless; hopefully our next decade is filled with fun because this one sucked.

Report, Leafs not actively trying to trade forward but...d
thewookie1 replied to LGR4GM's topic in The Aud Club
Two reasons: It's Toronto and dealing within division is always a risky venture; nor would I trade in division since I'd rather us have too many D and them have too few than help them become a more complete team. Dubas is an analytics junkie and is likely no interested in many of our willing to trade Dmen -
I'd guess Botts conceived the idea, Pegula effectively hand cuffed his ability to deal him, Botts trades ROR in order to not look out-of-touch to ownership while doing exactly that to the fans.
-
Hmm, I imagine this scenario: January 2018 Botts to Pegula: I'm thinking about trading ROR to bolster our team depth elsewhere. Pegula: Why? Botts: I believe he may be the case of the rift in the locker room Pegula: Alright June 2018 Pegula: I thought you were trading ROR? I'm not all that happy with his post-season comments. Not to mention his drunken escapades after I gave him a contract.... Botts: I'm trying; big trades are difficult in-season due to the salary cap Pegula: Well, get it done before his bonus is needing to be paid Botts: Why? Pegula: I'm done paying that guy a dime to play elsewhere after trashing our franchise. Botts: Ok, I guess. I do have a couple trades in the works with Montreal and Carolina so ideally he'll be gone at the draft. June 30th 2018 Botts: Carolina wants the bonus paid Terry Pegula: Then send him somewhere else, I'm not paying him to play in Carolina Botts: I'll try but I'm only getting weak offers Pegula: I have faith in you July 1st 2018 Botts: Well this really sucks, I have only three options St. Louis, Montreal, or keep him. Montreal's offer is less than I wanted and is in the division, St. Louis is in the West and is offering a 1st but I have to pick up salary to make it work, or I can keep him but Mr. Pegula will be rather curious as to why I said he was a locker room cancer and then chose to hold onto him. Carolina is still offering me Lindholm and Skinner but they need the bonus paid. Well, I guess I'll bite the bullet and take St. Louis's offer since its the least likely to hurt us directly and they are offering the most NHL-caliber players and a 1st. Berglund is a 3C, Sobotka a 4C whom both have playoff experience; Berglund could shelter Mitts to start the year. Tage Thompson is a big shooter and we have no one like that so that seems ideal and you can't go wrong with a 1st and a later 2nd.

What’s up with Trochek and why are some Florida fans wanting to trade him?
-
Hmm, the irony of a beer conversation taking place on a 20 year old’s thread. scratch that, he turned 21 near Thanksgiving this year
