  1. Girgs and Kopitar were the lone players without a point. I don't think the style of game was Girgs cup of tea to be honest. 2/3rds of his game (back checking/strong D and physical board play) weren't allowed so it does make sense he'd have trouble playing in this lax game.
  2. Myers and Buf 2nd for ROR and Col 2nd and Col 1 & 3 in 2016 if ROR doesn't resign
  3. I like the bottom of the three, then they can honestly build their own parking/tailgating/storefronts in that entire region. I would just hope the Bills would continue to live in the Southtowns because I like that; since Sabres live in the Northtowns. I want a retractable roof, not a dome, then we can still host Winter Classics and have games outdoors until it gets unbearable. (Cold rain)
  4. What % do you give him coming back as a player next year? I'll be sad if he has to retire early but I feel he needs to do what is best for his health. Plus, I'd bet there's a place in HarborCenter for him to work post-career.
  5. Hell, his career may be as well though the Sabres may just keep him on LTIR until his contract runs out to see if he can make it back.
  6. Hideous jerseys Girgs if picked last I believe gets a car, correct?
  7. I counted about 3 of those in the 3rd alone where he worked hard to get the puck back, gained control of it, then would look for an outlet to no avail. He'd throw it in front and no one was home for one reason or another. Stewart looked ok out there, Hodgson started stronger then fell into his defensive troubles and practically vanished by the 3rd. Brian Flynn probably had his worst game in a Sabres jersey last night, he was trying to do to much and be cutesy about it and it cost us dearly. I agree Deslaurier looked under the weather, he seemed a step off all night. The GEM line took 10 of the 21 Sabres' shots last night. G5-E4-M1 respectively. Zadorov was a 0 +/- with 24 minutes of ice time, he'd played 26 min against the NYI. Not to mention the assist and his solid checking game. On the first OTT goal I believe.... it seemed as Moulson was lost on what to do seeing as he lacked a stick thus stood there while Girgs likely hadn't noticed Moulson's predicament until it was too late. But they made up for it later after all.
  8. Who was Girgs telling to F off as they entered the tunnel? He certainly was furious.
  9. Detroit is not getting our GMTM in any trade! :)
  10. I wonder if Cowher would be interested in being Pegula's football guy? Since he is supposedly still wanting the NYG job and until Coughlin retires he's sorta free. After all they have a Pittsburgh connection.
  11. Worst case is the proverbial 9th place in the conference, not being in the middle seeing as we still get a top 10 pick. In some ways we have pulled off in 1 year what Edmonton has been trying to accomplish in 7; a hard working team that facilitates the entry of young skilled players. We may have bottomed out a year early, but it is a good sign we aren't still as bad in regards to player development.
  12. I noticed that as well, he seemed genuinely happy they won. And even joked about them being unable beat teams with skill. I wonder if the old core had become defeatist and this team being young and rambunctious has won Stafford over in some sense. This game was fun to watch and great to see the youngsters plugging away at the 3 goal defecit. I loved seeing the fans give them a standing ovation; they honestly deserved it.
  13. No thx, I will be holding onto Zadorov and Risto regardless.
  14. Merry Christmas Sabrespace and a Happy New Year. My prediction, Ennis will swap 3 fruit cakes, 2 wreaths, and an old Leino jersey with Gionta for $5 and a conditional 1st round present in 2016.
  15. Well done good sir, well done indeed. How about the Night Before Christmas?
  16. If I'm at 3 I'll just take Hanifin, I might throw an offer to Arizona/Edm of the 3 pick, 2 of the 3 picks after that(2 1s and a 2) and offer Myers in place of a 1st/ Pysyk in place of a 2. I'm not going to trade Risto, Zadorov, Girgs, or Reinhart to move up 1 spot in the draft regardless of the player. We can win either way, Hanifin makes Myers truly expendable and the 2 other firsts done correctly can fetch us great prospects or a higher pick with a greater prospect. They make the trade, we take a franchise player without losing anything massive in the rebuild. I'll put it simply, I refuse to tear apart parts of the rebuild, and further delay it in order to get a single player.
  17. Why am I in no way surprised by that..... Can someone tell me the last time a Bruin was actually suspended for a dirty hit?
  18. Zadorov really seems to be coming into his own as of late, he making sound plays; and when he screws up he does a good job not panicing and rather typically fixes it. Risto, gets back on top in the D man scoring leader race. Seems as if he and Z are in a competition over that doesn't it? Sad to see them lose after all that effort, but kudos to that young team.
  19. Get McTavish drunk and convince him Mez is the next Bobby Orr
  20. Grigs looks better tonight, and if Pysyk continues like this we may need to trade a Dman. Mezaros or Benoit would be who id offer since Myers should only be dealt if we get a ton of assets
  21. Hey guys, just thought of something! We trade Adam to the Pens for Crosby! ???? I'm going to miss using him as trade bait.
  22. Ummm, they have the same name as one of our rivals in the NFL.
  23. Certainly, if we only had to trade that for someone I'd be happy.
  24. No, a thousand times. Pysyk, Grigs, and their choice of NYI or STL's 1st and our 2nd rounder would be about my limit. I might throw in a random forward prospect. If Myers is the D-man they desire I'd offer Myers, Hodgson and a conditional 1st of the our two extras if Hall turns it around To me the core is Zadorov and Risto, we need them both and offensively Girgs and likely Ennis. Those 4 are untouchables in my chart.
