  1. This team is a joke, thank God we resigned Regier. Mind numbingly bad. Tyler Myers looks like an absolute spazz out there right now, can we please entertain trade offers for him?
  2. I might just be repeating what everyone else has said but I think we played adequately this period. We gotta step up the forecheck just a tad but I liked the aggression. Two chippy penalty calls but we took care of them. Let's get a PP or two of our own and see what we can do. I also have to listen to these idiots from NESN. Jack Edwards will go to the farthest extent to get a good word in about his team. If you're going to be a homer, fine, but don't sound obvious while doing it. And I can't tell whether this color guy is even speaking english.
  3. I try not to post immediately following the game so I'm a little more collected but it's obvious to me how poorly managed this team is. I don't think they lack so much skill that they're not a playoff team (and by that I mean like a 7th or 8th seed). But it's clear that they didn't even take into account certain areas of the team's game when they made some of these moves. Who's supposed to be our faceoff guy? Ott I guess but where's he been?
  4. Tremendous movie, don't even need to like hockey to like that movie.
  5. Obviously I'm exaggerating a bit. The two teams are pretty even in skill level, I just don't like our chances playing against a desperate team without one of our few offensive contributors.
  6. I hate to be that guy but there's literally no way we win today. Hopefully I'm wrong. maybe Miller will pull one out for us single handedly.
  7. Anyone know which feed NHL network will be carrying? You have to assume it'll be Washington's.
  8. AWFUL. Never want to overreact but if Myers keeps playing like this...Wow. Honestly, 3 years of this crap would make me look for trade options with him. Maybe we should before his trade value drops even more. Very disappointed. I know it's one game but my gosh. 0 for 6 (or 0 for 7?) on the powerplay? What the F is that about! They better fix that fast.
  9. Hey everybody, I unfortunately lost my grandpa today at the age of 90. He was a big a Sabres fan as they come. For his 90th birthday we bought him a brick at the French Connection statue site, and although he wasn't totally aware of what it meant at the time I'm happy to say that he'll remain connected with the team for time to come. So if you could say a prayer for him, although I'm not exactly sure he'll need it, the man was virtually a saint. But let's hope we can win it all this year in his honor! LETS GO BUFFALO!
  10. I hate to be a debbie downer (especially since I love when the NHL gets as much publicity as possible) but does anyone else think they made Fallon put him on because NBC needs to promote hockey on their station? Hate to be that guy, not usually that way, but I always feel as though the NHL is getting stiffed by someone.
  11. He is a 'fresh set of eyes' and I will give him a chance like I have for every coach; however I'm 18 and all I've seen is this cycle of suckish football, with a no name coaching replacement every 3 seasons. I thought maybe for once we'd hire a guy like Lovie who not only left Chicago on a (relative) high note and has taken a team to a Superbowl. I guess the same could be said about Wisenhunt, minus the who 'leaving on a high note' thing. BTW sorry for not posting this in the Bills topic in the first place.
  12. It seems like two things for me: a cheap hire and marketing ploy to get people from Syracuse to the games. The only way the Bills can make up for it is if Lovie Smith somehow agrees to be the DC.
  13. Where am I? Is this real life? Thursday, the 15th, let the Bills once again play second fiddle. Doug Marrone, what a joke.
  14. I may not be saying anything ground breaking here but Grigs is going to be a face of this franchise in years to come. Teams will look back on this pick and realize how dumb they were to label him as a lazy Russian. Ever since the Briere/Drury combo was kicked out of town by Larry Quinn we've been dying for a legit center, and here's a guy that literally fell into our laps. Cannot wait for the next few seasons. Ennis, Foligno, Myers, Grigs, Girgenson, Hodgson, Pysyk, Armia. Maybe I'm being overly optimistic here but screw it: Buffalo Sabres 2016 Stanley Cup Champions.
  15. Bettman is a winner either way. If the PA should accept, then he's not hated anymore (at least not as much). If the PA rejects it, then he's successfully moved almost all the support over to the Owners' side.
  16. That fight against Rinaldo is all you need to know about this kid. Sucks, get well soon Corey.
  17. I lost 4-0 i my opener, turned down the difficulty and beat DET 7-1. Guess I need to figure out how good (or ow bad) I actually am. Tough to tell with this new skating system.
  18. Yeah I'll have to disagree on that. This coming season (if it even happens) will be much less aggravating for sure since Roy is gone and they'll act more like a team, and a team that can hit. But they're gunna struggle to score. Pending some serious improvements to the defense, I'm seeing a very one dimensional team that can't outscore or out-defend their opponents.
  19. Really Bettman? You're not even going to meet with the union on the last day of the CBA? Not even as a publicity stunt? What an idiot.
  20. Shows this ownership is here to win and they want hockey as much as we do. Good job Darcy. Let's just hope we can see this new deal put to work some time soon.

    NHL 13

It says a lot about a game when my biggest complaint is not being able to give a guy a playoff beard when my team is in the postseason. Great games, little hesitant to buy it because of the lockout and all, but I will eventually. Probably in the next two weeks or so.
  22. Didn't know where to put this but check this out, made me kinda pumped. http://prohockeytalk.nbcsports.com/2012/09/10/ott-on-sabres-i-love-this-team/
  23. I started as a bigger Bills fan. I'm now 18. My Dad has always been a bigger Bills fan than a Sabres fan, so that's what I started like too. But after years of absolute futility I've come full circle. I've seen the Sabres win. I've seen the Sabres in two eastern conference finals. I've seen them in the playoffs 4 times (while actually conscious of what was happening). I've seen Pegula move in. I've seen a Calder and a Vezina winner on the same team. I'm officially a bigger Sabres fan. Screw the Bills, they've done nothing for me my whole life. This is what the franchise faces now. A whole generation of fans who have seen nothing but losing. Not all fans are as dedicated as me. People will totally give up and they have already.
