Eh, maybe but I doubt it. Darcy loves Vanek, and moving our best goal scorer for one that's better but not lightyears better seems relatively counterproductive unless Nash were a center (which he's obviously not).
@LucGelinasRDS: Sabres n'auraient pas terminé de bouger. Une source très fiable m'assure qu'ils travaillent fort pour obtenir Rick Nash.”
which means: Sabres have not finished moving. A very reliable source assures me they are working hard to get Rick Nash. "
That's logical. The losers of the Parise sweepstakes might be a little more desperate for Nash/Ryan. We REALLY need to land Ryan though. Break the bank for him. McNabb, Pysyk, Adam, any prospect other than Ennis and Foligno should be trade-able.
Can someone explain the reason why the trade market won't open up until Parise decides? Is it because the teams that don't land him will start going after Nash/Ryan? Because if that were the case, it would make more sense for Darcy to try to get a deal done BEFORE the Parise signing. This way he prevents the more stacked teams like Philly or Detroit from jumping in with better offers.
Good point I saw on Twitter: If the Pens choose Parise, they're essentially giving up on Malkin. There is absolutely no way Pittsburgh can would have the cap room to resign him to a long term deal.
