  1. Points one and two are fact, the last point dealing with them purposely sending guns into mexico for political purposes is known but will be proven beyond a reasonable doubt when the fast and furious investigation is completed by a new administration and a new Attorney General. Remember when > the military would charge a soldier for engaging in anti american activities or making treasonous statements? (Binghamton shooting/ they wanted to be politically correct , it was the order of the day, so none of is superiors acted to neuter the terrrorist / after all, he was a moslem/ his superiors knew he was a radical / turns out homeland security knew too, they had numerous emails he traded with alleged Al Quada operatives over seas . Everybody knew that he had been radicalized but 14 people had to pay with their lives for our governments political correct first, regardless of the cost, policy. They even refused to call him a terrorist after the murders). Remember when the state or a family could commit a person who was potentially dangerous and suffering from a mental disorder, for observation and evaluation ( The Colorado, Arizona and Virginia Tech shootings/ all schizophrenic / all walking around ) After the abuses of the 1970s (creedmore) our goverment became "enlightened" in the way they deal with the mentally ill and now they walk around among us. It is harder to intervene and commit. Not saying that is wrong ,but there is always a price to pay enlightenment.
  2. Steered clear as in : sending his Justice Department and ten or so million federal dollars into the middle of the D.C v Heller 2nd amendment fray on the the DC side, (in an attempt to gut the second amendment of our constitution) ?; having his Attorney General propose new gun control measures because most of the weapons used by drug cartels in Mexico came from the U.S market ? (this statement was later proven to be blatantly false by several well respected crime statistic experts, much to the chagrin of the White House and the new push for gun control temporarily stalled); directing ATF to sell 3000 assault weapons into the Mexican drug market in an attempt to manufacture the assault weapon crime statistics they needed in Mexico to reinvigorate their gun control agenda in the U.S.? (see previous statement) It should be noted that in most of these mass shooting types of cases, the government, and /or family, and/or educational institution and/or the police had knowledge that the assailent was potentially dangerous and yet no one acted to restrict their access to a firearm(it is a simple process under current law/ you put them on the wacko list). This was true in the Virginia Tech, Binhampton, Arizona and Colorado shooting incidents.
  3. Or the sabres refused to permit his participation and the injury is an excuse! Are any other roster players going? Did anybody get a waiver?
  4. Good post  and i understand
  5. I agree he has potential eggs. Right now, on a good team.. what line do you let him center? What did you think of his timing, vision, passing skills. I did not see a ton of well timed passes on Vaneks stick when he was open and there was a lane. I did not see a pass first mentality. In many cases he opted for the low percentage shot vs the pass alla Roy. My point was he is young and underdeveloped.. he is no where near the center the Sabres need right now. Yes i would have traded for him knowing he would not be an impact player and make his linemates immediately better. What did you think of the Cody Tropp Vanek line. I think it was another in a long line of Lindy acid trips. Imo he is a long way away from being able to play with Vanek and or Pom. You can spend a career trying to figure it out. We can agree he is still trying to figure it out as is Myers as is as is as is. You do not win with guys trying to figure it out. I said they were were the best line because they are over the past three seasons probably the point and goal leaders, while also drawing everybodys shut down lines in the process. Do i like the line ..no.. they are still the sabres best line.yes
  6. A one center? A top ten defender? A lot of grit..size, skill and d Suggesting specific solutions requires 1. knowing who will be available to the Buffalo market that is capable of filling the holes on my aformentioned list 2. what additional holes will be punched in the Sabres roster during the off season that will have to be filled 3. what the coaching and GM situation in Buffalo will be next year.. I believe there could be some very significant departures , some planned and some unanticipated,......I can tell you not to bet the bank on Parise ever landing here... there will be some gorilla teams in the mix if he becomes available. Although he is immensely talented his size is problematic for the Sabres given their already too small posture on the ice . I can also tell you the Sabres are one man short of a shutdown pair if they can keep Regher, that Tropp is not ready for prime time and Hodgson looks nothing like a one or two center on a good team. that Roy blows him away vision and skill wise when he wants to play, (i hate saying that) I can also tell you that the sabres best line is still Roy, Pom and Vanek and that is is still too small to stay in the zone and score consistently against physical teams. Everything else is dream scape until the unknowns are known... ..
  7. Hodgson is not a one or even a two center yet. (Hate to say it but Roys vision and hands blow hiim away skill wise when he chooses to play) Tropp is not ready for prime time, probably ok for a three or four line winger. The Sabres do not have a top ten defender or a real shut down pair in case that has not been noticed.. Ennis is an interesting piece to have but i am concerned that in a meaningfull game, against a physical team he will be to easy to send to the locker room, injury wise.

Agreed.. the Sabres best chance to beat a playoff team is the Rangers
  9. Agree with Benedict. Tropp is a nice asset to have. I do not believe he is a top six asset right now, but he nice to have as a floater. Hodgson is at best a three, with two potential. Whether his game improves is unknown. His vision is not what I had hoped it wouild be. I know it takes time to develop line chemistry. That line probably needs a legit top six winger , a physical winger that can pass and score to play opposite Vanek. A Pom, with more size and competence on the boards. Right now I think Boyes would be a better fit than Tropp.. I like the Ennis line but fear what will happen to it against a physical team in the playoffs after a few dozen big hits. I think it has the potential to get disassembled rather easily or revert to invisibility status if Ennis cannot take the hits. It would be interesting to see it play againsts Pitts, Philly, and Bos shutdown lines. I resign Ennis all day long at 3 +/- a bit and take the picks if it goes 4+ This team still needs a legit one center and a few upgrades
  10. Most of those people never played a game of hockey. A better poll would have been Kassian vs Hodgson. My guess is the general public would go 50/50 on that one
  11. 6' 185 lbs
  12. well stated
  13. Does Stafford have to go if he scores six goals in the next five games? Do players on other teams in Stafford cap hit range, who are also underachieving, have to go too?
  14. But how can they win, the fairies are with the Bruins
  15. New Sabres Team Photo
  16. Where are the twins these days? :D
  17. When you see a guy like him placed in a position of power , you need to immediately lower you expectations. It amazes me that the owners went for it. If i was Terry i would be calling a few owners right now ...looking for his head. RPI should take down Chics number for that druel.A guy with class would remain silent.
  18. Did you really not expect this? Did you think he was really going to be a sherrif.
  19. In any poll 30% of the people who respond are incapable of understanding the question because they are functionally illiterate. Unfortuantely ,they all vote .
  20. Here is one smart fighter who more than holds his own. can we trade.
  21. Mair was unassuming, but had guts. He got three nice shots in before he got nicked... The shirt over the head is always a good move when fighting a testosterone enhanced east european thug. The art of properly throwing an elbow in a hockey fight has been lost.
  22. It was not my intention to upset you. But If i was a nerd , i am not sure you would be capable of giving me the correct advice as a mom. Hopefully my dad, or uncle, or the x soldier next door, would give me the right advice and the skills i would need to deal with it.(i broke more than a few knuckles defending more than my share of the nerds in my class).it not about a win , its about standing up. Too many young male children are raised like women today. Soon we will have a nation of Pats and they will all play hockey like the Sabres did against Boston..
  23. Who cares. What is done is done. The Sabre are like a high school nerd looking for protection from the principal.
  24. And dinosaurs came from?
