  1. I suppose he has the desire but can he put it all together. Hopefully Regier didn't stunt his developement with what could possibly go down as the worst player/prospect management EVER.
  2. I get the sarcasm. :flirt: But the story is he was wearing a helmet. Smashed his head on a rock.
  3. F1 driver M. Schumacher in hospital with severe head trauma after ski accident. Apparently he's in a coma.
  4. Yes he has speed. In any case I'd love to have him on the Sabres. Our powerplay would certainly improve.
  5. Kessels bread and butter is his shot. Much like Brett Hull. He's built a career off of it and he's damn good at it. He's far from a well rounded player though.
  6. Here's one. All the faith he had had had had no effect on the outcome of his life.
  7. Thats good. I laughed and my wife gave me the puzzled look.
  8. The apple doesn't fall far from the tree. Just like dad. If this kid ever makes it to the big show he'll be eaten alive. I love his moxie but he needs to learn to control that temper.
  9. I used to work in a pulp mill on the graveyard shift. I read Steven King passing time on a 12 hour shift but one of my duties as a ' chipman ' was to do an hourly tour through the chip loft and check all the equipment for overheating, noises that indicated maintenance was due, signs of fire or smoke, etc. After reading King novels for a couple of hours I would ride the elevator up to the 4th floor to start my maintenance tour and literally run down every flight of stairs with the feeling someone or something was behind me. Needless to say I was neglecting my duty and had to stop reading those damn novels at work because of how they affected me. Every shadow became a character out of the book. Every odd noise became the creature that would rend me skin from bone. It scared the bejesus out of me.
  10. Wasn't Doan on that show ' Mantracker ' ? He probably picked up a Tick runnin around the bush with his brother trying to elude the posse.
  11. My employer greets me in the morning with " How you doing ? " I reply " not too bad. " To which he'll say something along the lines of " Not too bad but not too good ? " or " Not quite good enough ? " or " Could be better ? " or " more on the good side of bad than the bad side of good ? " I guess you could say we have an understanding. Sort of.
  12. That still doesn't negate John Scotts influence on the way other teams play the Sabres. Its undeniable. As some of these bigger tougher kids come on board I'm sure Scotts usefulness in keeping other teams honest won't be needed but until then its necessary imo. He's a stopgap til those big tough skilled guys we've begun to draft are N.H.L. ready so he fits for now.
  13. I agree with your take on it. Before Scott we were Bostons biatches and everyone knew it. EVERYONE. Heck the media openly talked about it, The N.H.L. openly promoted games with it. It had gotten to the point where it wasn't only Boston taking liberties. After John Scott things were noticeably different.
  14. Agreed 100%. Scott would have been drawn and quartered at centre ice based on his 4th line status, average ice time and size.
  15. or the forever demonized for his size Mr. John Scott.
  16. Feel for the kid. Hopefully this makes him a stronger individual. Fighting back from this can add character.
  17. My son calls his mother ' me '. As in, " Me can I have five dollars ? " I believe its from the Simpsons t.v. show but I could be wrong as I never watch it. This drives me nuts but his mom doesn't seem to mind so I keep my mouth shut. Me is short for mommy ?
  18. Currently reading The Brothers Karamazov by Dostoyevsky. I've always loved Russian Lit. and this one so far hasn't disappointed me. Next I'll re-read Dead Souls by Gogol which is very humorous and a great read.
  19. This guy will be money in the shootout.
  20. I know it won't happen because of the bigger names involved but both Benn and Seguin should make up two thirds of a line on Canadas olympic team with the way they're playing and the chemistry between them.
  21. Pats first trade. I suppose Penderwhosit from Edmonton must have been high on this guy.
  22. There are no excuses now. If I as a fan am informed and somewhat knowledgable about the effects of brain trauma injuries even in a rudimentary way then these athletes that make their living playing contact sports know. Its that simple.
  23. If Nolan stays on imo Moulson will sign with us. He's quoted as saying he loves him as a coach. He was pretty clear about that after the winterpeg game
